Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
The people that love him are just as fervent as the people that hate him. It causes problems.
I disagree with this insinuation. The people that are pro-Kanye (with some exceptions, like RJ) are usually accepting of people who don't like Kanye's music, as long as the reason is related to his music. "He's a dick" is hypocritical (I'm saying that with the assumption that if we lined up every act a person likes, we'll find another dickhead or asshole in the mix), "he ruined Bonnaroo" or anything related to that '08 show is usually woefully biased.
If you say "Kanye West sucks!" without reason or context, you will get it from people.
The issue isn't disliking Kanye, it's not giving fair criticisms and reasons why you dislike his music.
WOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH, not true, I've said countless times I understand not liking his music, I say I don't understand not liking his music for the way he acts

I tried giving reasons that I do not like him or his music and got hammered/questioned and insulted (I don't mind questions on my opinion but I stop when the insults start). I know a lot of comes from frustration, on both sides. The claims he ruined Bonnaroo and that he should not be allowed back and if he is it would be a slap in the face somehow, are pretty ignorant stances. I agree.
Am I completely naive for thinking Kanye being on the lineup has nothing to do with Outkast not being on the lineup?
Can someone connect those dots for me? Seems like there would be plenty of room for both.
Ya, I'm not sure anyone could win this side of the arguement, but i think you could at least try and argue that Eminem + Lil' Wayne = Kanye + Outkast. from a booking stand point.
During this special time of year, it's important to set aside our differences. Whether you are on Team Yeezus or Team Elton or Team Holding Out Hope For An Act Who Is Literally Dead But You Just Won't Give Up Oh No Not This Year - remember, we are all part of this crazy cuckoo thing called Bonnaroo.

I've tried to refrain from stating my distaste for Kanye because I know there are avid fans/haters, but, now that there is an appropriate place I'll state my opinion:
I really just don't like Kanye's music. Nothing more, nothing less. Several of my best friends have tried to "make me see the light", but, I just can't come around. I can't really put a finger on what I don't like, but, I don't like it. Do I think he's an asshole? Absolutely. However, I'm a asshole sometimes and a lot of times when someone is outspoken (like Kanye) some people just assume they're an asshole. Do I think he is a musical genius? No, but, he must be doing something right to keep up those massive album sales and have such a large fan base.
One thing I will agree with is that the people that will go to his show at Bonnaroo just to boo/ruin other peoples time/try to get a rise out of Kanye are idiots and the real assholes. I won't be there. I'll take it as a chance to do one of the following: 1.) Make a quick run back to camp, enjoy a few beers, eat some beef jerky, and get off my feet for a while. 2.) Grab some food in Centeroo, walk around a bit, and try to get a good spot for another show I would rather see. 3.) Head to the Brooer's tent, pretend it's a bar, talk to other people that had the same idea, and try out new beers. The way I see it, it's a win/win. Everybody needs a planned break in the mania of 24/7 concerts and mine is already worked out for me.
in retrospect, it was actually funny watching him run across the stage and crawl in that hole in his setup to "disappear" in broad daylight. much funnier now than in '08.

Notice how this post will get no backlash or knee-jerk reactions, folks.
I disagree, but at least you aren't screaming about Phil Lesh or something.

Man, you have to love all of the nit-wit facebook comments.
"If Kanye is there, we will start a riot! He does not fit roo! #radiatepositivity"
Apparently, you haven't got the message that this is radiating positivity because booking Kanye was not following the Bonnaroovian Code, so they are just seeking to bring everything back into the proper order. Nothing puts things in order like a riot.
Do I walk into your kitchen and tell you that you suck?
This is a thread dedicated to hating/defending Kanye. Unless one of these two sides forced you to view this page, just shut up.
Even though it's definitely sarcasm, I'm gonna hold out hope that the answer to this question is a resounding yes.
Haha right after typing this I thought "that's a hilarious mental image."
The closest I can come up with was in college. The girls we hung out with had a house and I figured out a way to jimmy open the window to their kitchen, so I would climb in through the window, take shit out of their fridge and sit down in the living room to hang out and wait to see how long it took someone to notice.
Everyone should have an older brother like me. Just ask my little brother, it's been a dream living with me on-and-off for over 20 years. A DREAM, I TELL YA.

Of course. Not a Kanye post, but this is another gem that gave me a chuckle:
" Hey everyone! Did you know there are LOCAL GRASSROOTS festivals in your area, with much more camping space, great music, phenomenal people, tickets dont cost you a months worth of groceries, and youll be supporting local people, local business and local music? Dont waste your time at Roo like I did for so many years. Go where the people actually LOVE community building, friend making, people meeting, music sharing, and all kinds of good stuff! Plus at local festivals, you have more of an opportunity to become involved, meet the people behind the scenes, and meet your favorite musicians. Supporting Bonnaroo is like the music equivalent to supporting WalMart. Seriously. Check out local festivals in your area. You will not be disappointed!!!!"
Right. So... I should skip out on festivals that have numerous groups that I generally enjoy and am excited to see and instead I should go to your hippie commune so that I can "get involved" and build a community. Gotcha.
