Apparently, you haven't got the message that this is radiating positivity because booking Kanye was not following the Bonnaroovian Code, so they are just seeking to bring everything back into the proper order. Nothing puts things in order like a riot.

Right. So... I should skip out on festivals that have numerous groups that I generally enjoy and am excited to see and instead I should go to your hippie commune so that I can "get involved" and build a community. Gotcha.

It's the same idea behind people who say Bonnaroo is suddenly about money like Bonnaroo wasn't a commercial enterprise for the first 8 years.

If this is actually going to serve as the thread to divert the Kanye hate, can we please change the title? I don't really think that labeling us "wah wahs" fits with the spirit of the festival or the message board; furthermore, it only make me want to post in the other thread instead.

The "Bonnaroo spirit" that has had brain-dead idiots talking about how many ways they can intentionally ruin Kanye's set to "get back at him" or whatever? Screw the people who are excited for him, THE BONNAROO SPIRIT MUST PREVAIL.

Believe it or not, I'm actually trying to be respectful of the "pro-Kanye" crowd. I have deliberately refrained from posting in the regular Kanye thread over the last two weeks. However, this thread is pointless if people are just going to come here to argue with the "anti-Kanye" sentiments. If that's going to be the case, I'll just go back to posting in the original Kanye thread.
But, since you mentioned it . . . Kanye Sucks. He put on the worst show I've ever seen in my life. I'm of the opinion that rapping over a 100% prerecorded backing track, with no instrumentation, no DJ, etc. doesn't qualify as a concert. The show I saw in 2008 amounted to little more than karaoke paired with a less-than-impressive light show.

Kanye's an ass. Wasted my time waiting for him in 08 and should've been seeing other music instead. His lack of acknowledgement of the crowd was just a slap in the face after making everyone wait so long.
Robert Randolph and the Family Band made up for it the next day with their "F@CK KANYE" stop-start jam. Those guys are awesome. Surprised Superfly would want Kanye back but I guess they care more about money than anything else. Probably not gonna go to roo this year, but if I was I wouldn't be caught dead anywhere near his show

Im so excited Kanye is playing. This is the year I can't make it to the farm, so it's a perfect year for him to fuck up Bonnaroo along with all the other 'acts' they brought in to pad his name.

anwah Dankenburg This postive enough for ya? Kanye was scheduled to play on the Which Stage at 8:15, the same time as Pearl Jam, but he wanted to play on the biggest stage, and when he realized Pearl Jam was headlining he threw a fit, he demanded to play the What Stage, so they told his fans he was delaying his set until 3. 3 came and went and he basically said he refused to play with other performers playing on other stages, so they had to kick Phil Lesh and friends as well as several other late night acts off the stage mid set. They weren't able to accomplish that until almost 6, so he perfomred his "glow in the dark" set after the sun already rose. Meanwhile people were pelting him with trash and booing his ass while standing in a giant field we normally close off after 2 am when the main headliner has played so we can clean it while it is still cool out. He didn't finish his set until 8 am so we had only 4 hours to clean it in the hot tennessee sun before the first band of the day went on. it was godawful

Daniel Shortys Rowengartner Kind of displeased to see you give more money to Kanye after the hissy fit last time around...and even more displeased that you didnt hook outkast...the calibre of your decisions are miniscule. What do I know....Ive only attended every year. ps prince, the stones, daft punk...or anyone that isnt kanye. I understand the festival is owned by a corporate media conglomerate now, but COME ON!

Matt Wheeler Can't believe you are having Kanye headline again after the shit he pulled in 08. He talked all kinds of shit on the production staff and didn't go on for over an 1hr 1/2. Festie hasn't been good in years.
