Honestly, I don't know Amos Lee well enough to say. But there is some precedent for mid-day Which artists becoming tent closers.
Headliners Late Night What or Which Late Night Tents Pre-Headline Which Pre-Headline What Tent Closers Mid Day What Mid-Day Which Mid-Day Tent
In my eyes, this is the approximate level or prestige per stage and time of day. Obviously personal opinions vary, but I think closing a tent versus more fierce competition is more prestigious than playing mid-day which. I'd also put the pre-headline Which as being slightly more prestigious than What, simply because it's later and often at least half unconflicted.
Late Night Tents are more prestigious than Pre HL What? I think Bjork was in a more prime position than Weird Al last year. I think you're underestimating the badassness of the What Stage all throughout this list. I don't even think Passion Pit would have given up their slot last year for closing the Other Tent. Especially when you have something like Radiohead or Mccartney headlining, anything on that stage 1 or 2 shows prior is gold.
I think the two are fairly close to be honest. On second thought, I admit this undervalues the 5-7 names a little. Bjork and Wilco had very prestigious spots last year. But the Rock and Soul Superjam, Billy Idol and Weird Al Slot is also very prestigious.
If you asked me if I'd rather see my favorite band in the Passion Pit slot or Weird Al slot, I'd say late night Other every time. Shows after dark at Bonnaroo are more coveted in my eyes because its more selective. Something pre-headliner like Wilco or Bjork is practically set in stone. The fourth and fifth names on the list are by and large going to have those spots with the occasional late night Jay Z or NIN thrown in.
Before the 2013 schedule came out, everyone was praying Bjork would have the late night spot. It didn't happen and everybody went ugh, "Well at least it will be getting dark during her set."
I dunno if this is the best place to ask but I'm sure you guys know the answer...
Is there much difference in size in the tents?
The reason I ask is I'd assume there was, but the way people lump 'tents' in together makes me think they are much of a muchness.
This and That are the same size and offer pretty similar experiences.
Other tent used to be noticeably smaller and it still is to some degree, but it seemed different last year. It seemed like Bonnaroo made an effort to even out the area around Other and sort of provide a plateau so that those outside the tent could have a better view of the stage. I watched Tame Impala from outside the tent last year from a spot I know I couldn't have seen them at a few years prior. So if being in the tent isn't your first priority, The Other is just as good as the other two. But, it's still smaller by a few thousand on the inside.
How much influence does playing on prime tv shows in the US have on popularity?
I've just seen Sam Smith is going to be on SNL soon, is that likely to cause a significant bump in popularity? (It wouldn't here particularly. Much more of a drip affect.)
Personally, I think Phoenix on which would be the biggest clusterfuck this year, they're arguably more popular than Arctic Monkeys.
The best problem with this line-up is the top 10 names are all pretty huge. and the next 20 are also very strong. So somebody is going to be under-conflicted and have a crowd much too big for their stage. It's absolutely going to happen. The only question is who it will be.
If we were talking about Phoenix from a few years, yes. They dropped a bit in popularity after their newest album failed to be as big of a hit as the preceding album. Arctic Monkeys are HUGE now. They're the 2nd most added name on the app and the 5th most added name on the site (which I think more people use). On the site they have more adds than five of the names preceding them, one who is a headliner. As cool as it would be to see them at night, I'd prefer them play daytime What just so it isn't a complete clusterfuck.
I'm quite sure someone is missing, which means someone is duplicated but hey ho.
These mocks are making it clear that I'm going to have some very tough choices this June, but overall this would work really well for me. Friday has a bit of a slow start, but for the most part, my must sees are spread as well as they can be.
Jake Bugg on Thursday would be a horrible mistake.
For typos: Mastodon, Okkervil River, Tedeschi Trucks
I'm quite sure someone is missing, which means someone is duplicated but hey ho.
In all seriousness, this schedule is 90% very good for me. With one huge exception of Saturday late night where I want to see every single thing except Zedd. That would be horrible for me and I don't even know what I'd choose.

I tried to give myself some headaches, as looking as past bills (and every festival I've been to) there will be times when you want to curl up in a ball rather than decide who to see.
Personally I'd go Frank Ocean then over to Darkside, but agree would happily watch all of that bar Zedd.

This isn't really too bad. Except Saturday night looks awful. Also, I think you could switch Wiz & Glitch Mob, although that just creates more conflicts for me... Sunday afternoon would be rough too. Saturday afternoon would be a lot of stage hoping for me, but minimal conflicts. Kaskade vs Umph hurts a bit... Actually Saturday night hurts a bit all round. Especially switching Wiz & Glitch Mob... I'd want to see Phoenix, Superjam, & Glitch, but a prime spot for Kaskade is a priority for me.
Actually, on second thought, fuck your schedule. It hurts too much.
Emoney serves more of a purpose than any of you, especially Nate, whose incessant, garbled ramblings are so mindless and pointless that I get depressed just seeing them.

Real 'Prestige' list:
Headliners Pre/Post headline What Pre/Post-headline Which LN Tent, Tent closers, Daytime Stage (All of these are pretty equal) Primetime Thursday Daytime Tent Daytime Thursday
LN shows are definitely more fun, but don't let that fool you into thinking they're more 'prestigious'. Was Dan Deacon LN a blast in 2010? Hell yes. Does that make him more 'prestigious' than The Dead Weather or Phoenix or Nas? Or, let's say, Kendrick Lamar or Passion Pit last year? Nope.
I didn't include daytime acts unless they were pre-HL on What or Which. If I'm feeling adventurous and/or bored, later I'll add tent closer and daytime What/Which acts. It's just annoying to count off the billing positions.
Daytime What Average Billing Position: 47.16 Highest Billing Position: 4 (Beach Boys) Lowest Billing Position: 124 (Might Clouds of Joy)
Pre-HL What Average Billing Position: 8.92 Highest Billing Position: 4 (The Black Keys, Bjork) Lowest Billing Position: 25 (Zac Brown Band)
Daytime Which Average Billing Position: 50.18 Highest Billing Position: 10 (Mumford & Sons) Lowest Billing Position: 155 (Kacey Musgraves)
Pre-HL Which Average Billing Position: 9.73 Highest Billing Position: 5 (Buffalo Springfield) Lowest Billing Position: 14 (the xx)
I'd love spending Thursday in the other tent minus stops at Cherub & Pusha T. Friday would be near perfect for me with Janelle Monae>Phoenix>VW>Kanye>Superjam/Chromeo>Die Antwoord Saturday is heartbreaking. Would alternate Which Stage and That Tent depending on conflicts. If the late night of Disclosure>Cut Copy actually happened, I'd probably end up there even though Frank Ocean and EDM Superjam are high on my list. Sunday I can just wander around and see a bunch of things that interest me before Broken Bells>Arctic Monkeys.
Overall, nice schedule! Though without some idea of set times, Saturday might look worse than it actually is. Idk. The way it looks now, about 7 or 8 of my must sees are sharing three time slots.
