(By the way, the numbers are billing order, although they're slightly off because the list I had didn't include the superjam ?)
I like this. I hope Friday and the late nights look something like this. Saturday looks pretty tough, but quite realistic. Sunday's a bit tough later as always. Lake Street Dive should be put into the bluegrass tent.
(By the way, the numbers are billing order, although they're slightly off because the list I had didn't include the superjam ?)
I like this a lot. I would maybe switch nick cave and the flaming lips but what do I know. Looks good even though that Saturday late night frank ocean, skrillex sj, disclosure and ice cube conflict kills me inside. I can honestly say I have no idea which one I would choose.
I'd do a 3 way switch with Wiz taking NMH's spot, NMH taking Arctic Monkey's, and Arctic Monkey's taking Wiz's.
Other than that, pretty damn good.
Thanks!
Wiz already played the What in 2011 (despite lower than average billing for the slot), so I kinda see him in the Kendrick Lamar slot. Arctic Monkeys on the which would be a horrible mistake, but it just seems liek the kind of thing they would do. The Strokes and White Stripes both played that slot after all.
I personally don't think NMH or Nick Cave (per another comment) would go over well on the biggest stage of the fest.

Add me to the "I like this mock" group. The only thing that really glares at me is Phoenix > VW on Friday. I've been poring over the past four years' schedules and billing positions all morning, and Bonnaroo has never had two top-ten acts back-to-back on the What, especially so early in the fest. I think that IF Phoenix and VW play on the same day, Phoenix would be Pre-HL on the Which. I think switching them with NMH would work well in your mock.
I also would switch FLips with Nick Cave, just because I think that if the FLips don't play a nighttime set, they'd at least get a sunset pre-HL set. I also don't care for Nick Cave and I find him boring, so personally I think he makes more sense earlier in the day. That's just my personal bias though.
Lastly - and at this point I'm just being nitpicky - I think Janelle Monae would be later in the day. She's got a lively, zesty show, so I don't think they'd put her so early in the day. I'd switch her with City & Color or Omar Souleyman.
Anywho, great mock. Of course, it'd still give me trouble with conflicts, but I've given up thinking that I won't have to make incredibly tough decisions this year. Oh well...

Yea, that Saturday night looks real rough. It'd be a decision to either stay for full shows and miss a lot, or do a lot of jumping around (which I'm generally not a fan of,) Frank Ocean vs Superjam vs Disclousre hurts real bad. Disclosure is a new love though, so they'd be tough to skip, especially since I'm guareentering that Sam Smith will be making an appearance and doing Latch live with them...

I think your mock is perhaps the most realistic yet. You understand Bonnaroo loves to theme tents and put everyone appropriately for the most part. Thursday and Saturday LN look brutal for me I wonder if the Other tent will be EDM/Hip-Hop this year again. I think your mock makes more sense in putting the lesser known artists in Other since it's the smallest tent.

^ These look good, but I actually liked Flips better where they were. They've done the LN Which twice in the past few years, and Bonnaroo likes to vary the fest up enough that I'd be surprised if they book them there again.
In other news: Arctic Monkeys headlining Lollapalooza, booked 4th on the lineup. I wouldn't be shocked at all to see them preheadline What or do a LN Which. Could still see them closing Which one day, but a daytime What might be more likely -- their following is huge.
I made some adjustments for Phoshorescent and White Denim's confirmations.
I have too much hip hop on Thursday night, don't I? I should probably mix it in with the electronic tents Fri-Sun, right?
Okay, I switched Chance the Rapper with Break Science. Seems more realistic now.
Nice, although I'm still missing Chance in ur mock; this is a great one, lets hope bonnaroo's looks like this. I can start getting used to the idea of missing a few artists to see the ones I want on this mock.
Music Midtown: 2011 Bonnaroo: 2012 - 2016 Forecastle: 2013 Rock al Parque: 2014 420 Fest: 2014-2018 Shaky Knees: 2015 - 2019, 2021 Seen tons of local shows since 2004.
Emoney serves more of a purpose than any of you, especially Nate, whose incessant, garbled ramblings are so mindless and pointless that I get depressed just seeing them.
Cage the Elephant has 7K adds on the scheduler. As much as I hate the idea of them wasting a stage slot, I think I need to move them to the what or which.
I guess I could take the advice above and just swap them with CHVRCHES.
The one thing that convinced me to put them there was the lack of heavy-ish acts to pair with Mastodon and Meshuggah. I'm almost tempted to put them late night and free up that tent for more indie/twang.
Wow dude, fuck you fo actually doing the Janelle/Phoenix/VW (waiting for Kanye) conflict. This would severely damage my Roo.
Hahaha that would suck sooo bad. I'm hoping Roo wouldn't do this though just because they want people to leave saying that they saw as many top-tier acts as possible. Pitting VW and Phoenix against each other would make people pine for what Bonnaroo could have been.
