Bad news: Friday will likely be the most humid day, feeling like 111
I doubt the 111 part.
In 2010, the worst of the worst was an air temperature of 97 with a dewpoint of 75. That would get you to a feel like 111, or close enough.
Sunday in 2010 was pure hell.
I spent most of Sunday on the rail in the punk tent.
Then, I was offered a hotel room and dinner in Nashville that night with my then-girlfriend, on her mom's dime (she was attending a conference at Vandy)
We happily skipped Phoenix and Dave Matthews and dined on steak and fucked like rabbits in a Marriott suite.

so its my first time at roo and it just happens that i hate the rain with a passion. i hate it so much that when it rains i avoid it if possible by staying in doors all day. i used to live in a very tropical place where it would rain for days or weeks thus my hate for it began. looks like I'm gonna have to face it come bonnaroo but what are some good ways to still have fun even when the rain is going on

On Thursday, some old-school inforoo'ers are meeting up at the Broo'ers fest(2PM I think) then they will either hit the Arcade or a music set. If they don't have enough people on-board for the Arcade, they are gonna scrap that idea. If you want, find that thread and let em know your interested. There is a Cinema tent as well(among others). The schedule can be found on the website. Don't worry, there is so much stuff to do at Roo you will NOT be bored. The original Woodstock fest was a muddy mess, but to this day people still consider it legendary. Whatever happens, there will be thousands to share your misery with (until your proverbial "reset" button is pressed) . Dueces!

Still remember how uncomfortable the Fogerty show was.... :/
John Butler Trio.. What stage mid day.. Quacker and I questioned if we would stay on our feet it was so quacking miserable hot! We've had the pleasure of many tropical visits and nothing like this. Saturday 2011 was next in line. It was so oppressive that the low cloud ceiling trapped all of the RV exhaust and set off the CO detectors all over RV GA land. Paired with the dustbowl.. We found the weather for 2012 to be close to heavenly compared to prior years. Here's hoping ya'll get 2012ish weather!
I'll also make a vote for Sunday 2010. Didn't leave camp until almost 3 because I was up all night Saturday. Then tried to stay under tents despite wanting to see John Fogerty, eff that. Made it out for a little bit of Ween then called it a day. Sad I missed Phoenix but it was time for that weekend to come to a close. haha

bonnaroo is a perfect time to just let go of your day to day hold ups.
on the bright side, it looks like we can expect to avoid the dirtastrophe that was Roo 2011 since there will be plenty of rain in advance of Thursday.
from the forecasts I`ve seen, it looks pretty much like every year. It will be hot and there is a chance a thunderstorm will happen each day. as long as the rain isn`t major, and you`re moderately prepared, all should be good.
Moderately prepared = more than 1 pair of shoes, spare socks and a secure tent setup that handle rain and wind.
Hot and chance of afternoon thunderstorms every day is exactly correct. This is the summer weather pattern of the south every single day.
I truly am glad I am from the south during times like these. Living in Alabama all my life growing up playing soccer and now doing landscaping work I love this weather...I see you're from Toronto, our neighbors last year were from Montreal, and boy were they in for a rude awakening...
I feel bad for anyone who has struggled with the weather the last two years. For the location and time of year, it has been pretty great. Anyone who was having a rough time will really wilt when it gets legit hot.
Yeah 2012 and 2013 were both nearly perfect as far as weather is concerned with only a little bit of Sunday rain keeping it from 100%. I doubt we get so lucky three years in a row.
It's been humid the past week, and some pretty strong storms rolled through last night...but yeah, looks typical for here: hot, humid, chance of rain every day...today is the first time it's rained in about a week or so...
The last two years have had me spoiled after the 2010-2011 heat debacle. Heres hoping to enough sun to dry out any wet ground and enough clouds to keep the sun from getting ahead of itself. (crossing fingers)

I fully believe that. Most folks from around these parts have no idea what they're getting into with Roo in general, let alone the weather. As long as the sun isn't blasting down all 4 days, I'll be happy.

Yeah, I mean, it's going to be what it is most years: hot all the time with some stray showers here and there and then cooling down at night. I just head for a tent show if it starts raining, or otherwise put on the poncho and stick it out. Seems like it's going to be a pretty typical year at this point.

As long as we can avoid dust storms like some years I'll be fine. The heat is bad but I tend to stick at tents most of the day and it feels great once the evening comes around. Last couple years have been spectacular though. Lots of great overcast skies and breezes.

Ya i think with so much rain leading up to Roo there will be both no dust storms and REALLY good Grass! I'm stoked all this rain should give the camping areas really lush nice grass.. NO SHOES! woo woo woo woo..
Two ways to combat rain (or at least be more comfortable), wear swim suits/shorts and invest in a dry bag at an outdoor store. You can throw all the stuff you want to keep dry in it and put it in your backpack. Bingo Bango, clothes and bags made to get wet.
These last 4 posts are meant to show the inaccuracies and inconsistency of long range forecasts. We'll likely see some rain, and high humidity. Doesn't look like any long down pours tho. That said, here's your "Boners's good news, bad news predictions".
Good news: None of the days have shown more than 0'4 inches of rain.
Bad news: Friday will likely be the most humid day, feeling like 111

Wtf is Rogers
something you're lucky you don't have to deal with in America.

Keep doing the exact same thing you were doing before it was raining. You will continue to have fun.
Oh and put your phone and schedule in ziploc bags and don't wear flip flops in the rain/mud. If you just accept that you're going to be wet then you will have a blast.
Bone Zone, serious question here. How do you prepare yourself for a week in Tennessee when it's still 40 where you live? I've lived in Atlanta my entire life and I still make myself go for long runs outside to prepare for the heat at Roo.

There is no arcade at Bonnaroo, the poster misunderstood. There is talk of an "Arcade Meet Up", meaning a meet up of the people that play/post frequently in the Arcade Sub-Forum of Inforoo.
Although, the addition of an arcade would be pretty cool. I could imagine some late night stops there after the music ends for an old school battle.

well this is pretty unusually cold for this time of the year, were usually into the 70-80 range, but this has been a cooler year pretty much everywhere is seems. I didn't grow up here, and where I'm from, the weather and temps are the same as north eastern states. I've always had a good resistance to heat, but yeah, some prep is required. At work, I'm often decked out is industrial rain gear, and when temperatures hit the seasonal norms here, it's 10000 degrees in that shit. I also spend a lot of time on the elliptical in the months leading up to roo, so to help prep, I'll wear a hoody and sweatpants while I'm doing my thing. In my mind, all of this helps me take on the heat and humidity, but in reality, I doubt it actually does anything to help. But, mind over matter and all that jazz.
