Every website I look at (weather.com and noaa.gov) only give 10 day forecasts.
That's because anything longer than 10 days is pretty useless.
Understood but it's something I enjoy monitoring leading up to the event. I know even this weeks weather could change but seeing it in a forecast gets me excited and I start planning accordingly in my head.
Emoney serves more of a purpose than any of you, especially Nate, whose incessant, garbled ramblings are so mindless and pointless that I get depressed just seeing them.

I'm not saying worrying about what the weather in Tennessee will be like in 10 days is a complete waste of time. But the time could be just as productively spent getting up to date on the Kardashian family's latest activities.

I'm not worried about the rain.. I'm just worried about getting sick from standing in the rain - that would put a hold up on my Roo weekend, because I'm stubborn and WILL walk around all day in the rain if necessary or unnecessary..
Any tips on what to do/bring/not to do if it rains?
Are boots really that necessary?
Thanks in advance
I'm with ya. On a scale of 1-10 how necessary to we think boots are for those Roo'ers from many years past? If you don't mind getting really dirty/muddy do boots matter?

I'd like to know this. And also, what exactly do you all mean by boots? Wellies?

You're going to get muddy no matter what, but boots help you actually walk. If you try to go barefoot or (godforbid) sandals it'll take you forever to move around.

i have never done bonnaroo in boots. but I have done 10+ years of beale street music fest, in which it rained like 9 of those years. from my friends who wore boots of the rubbery rain variety, they worked excellent as long as they fit properly, and it was already muddy and not really raining anymore. if they are too big then your feet will just pull out of them when they sink into the mud. if it is raining while you wear them, the rain runs off your jacket/legs and into your boots and eventually you are standing in puddles.
as far as hiking boots, they stay on your feet exceptionally well, and keep a lot of water out. If you DO go the boot route, make sure you wear some type of wool or synthetic socks that will wick moisture, and bring an extra pair with you. cotton socks are sponges and will soak up everything and hold it right next to your foot.
I skip boots all together and tighten up my chacos, then it isn't so much as keeping rain/mud out as it is just going th emore amphibious route. although I also carry a camping towel so i can periodically rinse the mud off and dry my feet off somewhat. long periods of wet feet can be nasty. but, if the sun comes out, i'd much rather be in chacos than boots of any sort.

i've always worn my rain boots wednesday night to set up camp because that tall tall grass always seems to be wet when we get there. as far as actual rainstorms, wear anything that will really stay on your feet! you don't want to get stuck in the mud and be forced to walk back to pod 1 on the verge of tears in the middle of the night (not that i would know...). and i agree with everyone else, just dance!

I always pack rainboots just in case. I did wear them with wicking socks last year and was glad to have them on Monday morning for tearing down our camp and running to grab breakfast.
