The season 2 premiere was probably the best hour of TV since the Breaking Bad finale. So stoked for this show. I mean fucking Ted Danson, you guys.
We are actually in the middle of watching Cheers right now. I love Netflix.
So, after the second episode, I'm really very curious to see where they are going with the alien business. It seems like there's potential for it to go a really hokey direction, but if they pull it off, it could be fantastic.
Also, I totally had a moment watching it when I was like, "Holy shit! The little girl is Molly!" I mean, I know I should have realized that already, but it just hadn't occurred to me before that moment.

Agreed. I have absolute faith that it won't be something terrible but those lens flare camera moves are hard to ignore.
I'm also very excited to see what kinda villain Mike Milligan turns out to be. I don't think they'll try to make him another Malvo type but he seems like he will certainly be ruthless.

This is the best show on television.
I love that we know it's gonna turn ugly, real ugly, but it's gonna be a delightful treat watching it happen. Those stand off scenes tonight were intense.
I'm thinking that Peggy and Ed are gonna have to tell the cops about her running over Rye, right? I don't see how they can conceal it any longer.
I'm betting Hanzee, the Indian hitman, will end up regretting leaving one of the Kitchen brothers alive when he could have killed them both easily.
Also, never attack a Butcher when he is in his shop chopping up large pieces of meat. That's how you get a meat cleaver driven straight through your skull LOL!

If we're talking straight up body count the season 1 episode where Malvo killed everyone in the mob headquarters. Those were all off-screen though.
Anyway this newest episode was awesome. I loved every character sharing their worldview throughout the episode (the Camus discussion, Bear Gerhardt's insistence that people get what they deserve, etc.). It totally adds to the overwhelming sense of dread all of these characters feel. And they all have a lot to be worried about right now.
Just finished Loplop, no ones talking about it yet? That was probably my favorite single episode of television since Breaking Bad ended.
That episode was phenomenal. I freaking love the Blumquists as characters. Ed is desperate for the perfect life; desperate enough to do anything. And Peggy... dear Lord, do not fuck with Peggy. And because neither is exactly a criminal mastermind it makes them a really chaotic pair to watch. It's very fun to follow along with.
I also really liked the final scene with Hanzee. His decision to leave the life better explains all the killing he did that episode. Hanzee was always such a calm, rational person it was crazy to see him snap.
Can't wait to see what happens! I genuinely can't guess what will happen next.
Side note: I watched the previous week's episode immediately before Loplop. It made for like three hours of Fargo watching on Monday. It was awesome.

I was really confused by his seemingly sudden decision to just kill Dodd. Especially when he had just gone through all that searching and investigating specifically FOR Dodd. What do you think made him just change like that? They sure know how to leave you hanging in this show.
FWIW That scene at the end with the scissors made this episode almost "Ozymandias" worthy for me

It was definitely Hanzee reaching his breaking point. Think back to his experience at the racist bar. He did three tours in Vietnam, got a purple heart and a gold star only to come back to spit in his drink. Then think about those experiences in comparison to his experience with the Gerhardts. He was the muscle for them and did every bit as much work as Bear or Dodd. But Dodd repeatedly treated him like an object; telling Bear that Hanzee is "his."
I think he just got fed up with it all and the easiest way out is to kill Dodd. Dodd is probably the only Gerhardt who would come after him. Hanzee is already way the fuck out in the middle of nowhere operating basically on his own. If Hanzee kills Dodd he can make a clean break from the Gerhardts.

I think maybe the final blow for Hanzee was when Dodd called him a half-breed. After all the racism at the bar that was probably the moment when it went from exhaustion to "this is completely, absolutely over" So what now with his character? Do you think he'll show back up in Sioux Falls? I also don't see what else Ed and Peggy can do, their story arc may come to a halt now. I mean they're going to jail, like no question.

Well Ed just made a bargain with Mike Milligan that he won't be able to complete so I think that could cause some issues. Whatever it is, I'm confident Ed and Peggy aren't finished in the story. I think it will get ugly (or uglier, really) for one or both of them before this is all done.
Hanzee though? No way I can guess what he's up to. The smart thing to do would be to disappear but I doubt the show would let that happen.
