So J Roddy Walston & the Business has on their tour schedule the Bristol rythmn & roots fest in TN on their website for sept 19-21... we know they're not playing everyday... Think there is a chance they'll play at MM? (They're an up and coming rock band, have one song 105.7 plays, are playing bonnaroo, and do not have an ATL tour date) seem to be a good contender to me and I'm really hoping that they come to MM! Moon Taxi and St. Paul & broken bones are playing in Bristol too.

I said this earlier in the thread I think. But yeah in my head they've been confirmed for a while.
Predictions for MM 2014 based on current tour schedules and overall theme for Atlanta's Festival. the Cure, Jack White, Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers, blink 182, Death Cab for Cutie and of course Outkast. Reasons: 1) their doing the festival circuit for the last few years and haven't played here in a long time. 2) headlining fests and touring a new record but no Atlanta dates at the right time, too obvious. 3) have headlined before at MM and has an open tour date while in the area, yes for them it's four shows I. A row but they haven't played here recently and MM would pay a whole lot. 4) touring the large fest circuit and hasn't played here in at least 5 years. 6) same a above doing festivals this summer and 7) obviously the hometown hip hop favorites are a garuantee. Last year at MM 13 they had several headliner level bands that played mid-day (weezer, Phoenix) Cake and Janes Addiction closed out their Stages and leaving way for Journey. RhCP were amazing as always and so were Arctic Monkeys. I don't really care for Inaginine dragons but they sounded ok. My point being is that there are usually a very large lineup of big name acts with a heavy alt theme with a little Hip Hop and Classic rock thrown in for a nice flavor. Can't wait for MM 2014!

I would love The Cure, Petty, Jack White and Outkast to all be there but to be honest it just doesn't seem likely. Their budget isn't that high but I guarantee if that were true it would sell out in a heartbeat and it would be probably the best lineup in any American festival this year. Blink 182 isn't impossible but it's kind of a shot in the dark. Same with Death Cab but I would actually wanna see Death Cab. Overall really solid guesses but the budget is a problem. Fitz, Darius Rucker, Lorde and 21 Pilots have got to be there too. Their tour dates give it away. Not so much for Fitz but they avoid Georgia.
Jack White, Outkast, Petty, The Cure, Strokes, NMH, Kooks, Gambino, Kasabian (tour dates make sense), Kaiser Chiefs (no ATL date despite recording their album in ATL), alt-J and Death Cab would kill me. I would slit my throat after that because nothing would ever love up to that again.

If AFI can get from CA on the 19th to GA on the 20th by some form of magic, they could've there. They dance around GA in early October but don't actually go to ATL.
Interpol is a shot in the dark but possible. It depends what day the Flaming Lips play Riot in September. If they play on Sunday, they could be at MM Friday (same for The Cure).
It bothers me how wrong everyone in that thread is. OutKast-Eminem wouldn't work well. No way they book two rappers to headline. MM is a lot about rock headliners. OutKast can be the one exception. The four-night theory seems silly to me and everyone seems to be disputing Petty with it for some reason. Everything they say seems to be speculation that they can't back up. Jack White seems very likely especially and I would call him a lock if it weren't for Petty. These people who claim to have "inside info" are probably just fucking with you though. Last year I kept seeing Jack Johnson's name coming up for some reason.
but god damn, why is no one taking my Darius Rucker pick seriously? I was proud of that one.

This is most likely TomorrowWorld. OutKast could play both though.
Neither TomorrowWorld nor Counterpoint is in Atlanta. I doubt that they would be celebrating their return to Atlanta by playing an electronic fest 45 minutes south of the city.
I'm not saying there isn't a chance for Music Midtown, just posting the pic for proof. But I would say that it definitely lowers the chances of a MM appearance.
Unless MM changed the dates of the fest this year? Did we ever get an official confirmation when it's happening?

TomorrowWorld says Atlanta on it's website.
The first post of this thread confirms the dates as well as in an e-mail 2013 VIP-ers got.
