I can dig this. I actually prefer it since it says they will be doing an exgtended set and it will be much easier getting a good spot at this show than it would be at Music Midtown. Now I want to be greedy and hope they play OMF as well.
I was excited for Outkast at Centennial Park, too, until I saw the different price levels. GA only gets you to the back part of the lawn. Gotta pay the $105 for inner circle or $250 for VIP. At least at Party in the Park you could still get pretty close with just the GA ticket.
TRUST ME. Outkast will be worth every penny of that $105 + fees. Don't slack and get the Gen Adm. You are going to want to be in the middle of this one and it will be worth it.

I would have enjoyed seeing Outkast in Atlanta even though I've seen them twice on this tour, so I'm sad they aren't going to be playing Music Midtown. I would enjoy a legend I've never seen like The Cure or Prince, and I would even enjoy some kind of main stream band that would be fun to see with a big group, like Green Day, Aerosmith, or Guns N Roses. The smaller acts that have been mentioned like Vampire Weekend, Interpol, Lorde, Lana Del Ray, and Cheap Trick would be great. Round it out with The Strokes, War on Drugs, and Haim. And there has to be hip-hop, so I'm open to suggestions for that.

The Cure wouldn't headline so that's why they aren't likely.
Aerosmith is coming in August, Green Day won't, and I don't think anyone would book GnR after Gov Ball.
War on Drugs, Strokes and HAIM would be sick though.
Childish Gambino is the only rapper that comes to mind.

Man, I was really hoping Outkast would be at midtown. I love them to death, but I would rather not pay $100+ to see them by themselves if I don't have to.

I'm gonna buy my ticket and if they are at Midtown, I'll sell it on stubhub. They're gonna sell out fast as fuck.

Any big time fan of Outkast should prefer this set up. It may cost a little more but it will be much easier to get a good spot at this show. They have already said this is going to be an extended set with many special guests. This is going to be the show where they bring out the Dungeon Family and do all the classics and they wont be on as strict of a time limit as they would be with Music Midtown.

Yeeeeeah but the thing is this show will be sold out by the end of the month, and I definitely wont have the funds for it until the beginning of august. So in my case, it would actually be easier to sit at the stage super early and wait rather than drop the cash
You can basically watch the whole show for free, you can stand outside the gates of the area. You'll be far but hey free show
MM might be delaying the line up for two reasons: They lost Outkast and are trying to replace them
Outkast is there and it's a marketing thing for ATL to wait until it sells out THEN announces Outkast at MM. Theyd make bank though on hotels. Heard a lot of people would be traveling down.
The first one is the most likely but Livenation could've finally gotten their shit together and pull this genius marketing move.
Really, the Cure wouldn't headline? Based on what? They have been headlining festivals for the last two years and have not been here since 2007. The Cure and Jack White Death Cab for Cutie and Inferpol Goodie Mob (local hip hop) and childish Gambino Lorde and Blondie

Based on the fact that because of Riotfest they would only play Friday and Tom petty is there. They won't be there though
This is a long shot... But what about Heart? They're playing a lot of festivals and touring right now, have an opening in their schedule, and could possibly fill the Joan Jett slot from a few years back. Probably highly unlikely but I'd be stoked! :-)

I would be stoked if Petty was headlined Friday and Jack White was headlining Saturday
I really hope this year isn't gonna be as big as a flop as party in the park was. Why don't we all work for live nation and set up the lineup ourselves lol
