I made this video in April, because I had this feeling deep in my soul that the Cleveland Browns were going to select the NFL's next great Quarterback. They passed him up twice, but my soul never let's me down.
Let me introduce to all my inforooster friends, "The Road to Johnny Football"
(If you don't have a pretty decent interest in the NFL, the ineptitude of the Browns, or Radiohead, then you will find this video uninteresting.)
Everybody seems to hate him, cause he's cocky. That is what makes me such a fan. There is no way he'll let himself, not be successful.
Listen man, I'm not trying to shit on your dreams here or anything, but he's going to try one time to do his stupid run around the pocket and make a big play thing and he will get crushed by some NFL DE who will forever be known from that point forward as the guy who Joe Theismann'd Johnny Football.

I have been a Vikings fan since I was since I was 4. Teddy Bridgewater is our newest QB. Guess what? I expect him to be OK to good but not great but better than Johnny Football.

How does it go, something like "Haters gonna hate"?

I'm a fan and think the teams that passed him up will be kicking theirselves in the ass. The big negative here is if Gordon gets suspended for the season that will definitely delay his growth. As for Bortles or Bridgewater, these guys won't last. Manziel is gonna be solid.
Manziel is goin make some plays and win some games over his NFL career. He did some amazing things against the toughest defensives in college. Here are the things he's stacked up against: -His play style...he must learn quickly that sliding and going out of bounds will be the best thing for him and Cleveland a vast majority of the time. -The Browns Organization. Their near the top for most losses and changing head coaches over the last 10 years. -Vick and RG3. History is just doomed to repeat itself.

I read this today, thought it was pretty interesting. From Peter King
"Preamble to yet more words about Johnny Manziel, the 22nd pick in the NFL draft Thursday night: Between 7 p.m. and midnight Thursday, Twitter recorded approximately 2.5 million Tweets related to Manziel. In the same five hours, 519,000 Tweets were posted, combined, concerning LeBron James, the Miami-Brooklyn and Portland-San Antonio playoff games, and the NHL playoff games (Boston-Montreal, Anaheim-Los Angeles). Five times as many people Tweeted about Manziel alone as Tweeted about the four most important games of the night and the most charismatic athlete in America playing in one of the games—James. “That is a pretty wild stat,” Manziel said"

Although Manziel has good feet and a crazy amount of control of his body, I cant say the same about his control of the football. He throws up prayers after he dodges a sack, and those jukes he puts down arnt going to work in the AFC North. I was thinking he'd be a top round bust, but landing in Cleveland he might not play long enough to acclimate to the NFL.
On the plus side as a Steelers fan, "hahahha Johnny Football twice a year."

My dad always used to tell me "Only evil people are fans of the Steelers". I never believed him though.
I agree with you that Manziel is gonna take some hits, some hard hits. But it isn't gonna rattle him, it isn't going to scare him. Some quarterbacks get hit a lot and start "playing scared" Start throwing the ball a second early, just because they don't want to take the hit. Manziel is not going to "play scared" I think he is a smart enough man to learn to slide and not scramble around so much. If he can avoid injury early in his career, I think he'll learn to take a lot less hits than people are expecting.

Big if on the injury. His ego will most likely be his downfall on the field. He should play scared until he gets the pace of the game down. Those high throws and 2 extra seconds out the pocket turn to interceptions and sacks for losses in the NFL. And when he has the Steelers and Ravens front 7 leaning down on a Cleveland Browns O-Line, the odds are stacked against him.

I think he has great instincts... might not be a great leader 100% of the time but will rise to the occasion on Sundays and will at the very least make the Browns competitive again. It just sucks that everyone is going to hate him because ESPN is going to follow him around nonstop. Just wait til preseason football starts. It's going to be obnoxious.

ugh...why are so many Browns fans so oblivious to reality? He's not going to be the next great NFL QB. He's probably not going to be even marginally good. He's a dick and if I were an NFL DE/OLB who was salivating for a big hit, he would be first on my list.
To clarify...I have been a die hard Browns fan since I can remember, but I live in reality. This was a bonehead move, forced by another bonehead Cleveland sports team owner, and we will probably be looking at another GM, Coach and first round QB next year. The only consolation is, that in next year's draft, there are some QB's worth taking a risk on. As always...waiting for next year.

What a bunch of haters, lol. Even a Browns fan hating on him. So what if he's a dick, a lot of athletes are. I'll take his personality over that Jesus lover from Florida. And to compare him to Tebow throws all of your football credibility out the window. Sure they were both great college QB's but that's about all they have in common. I'd much rather have a cocky QB than somebody lacking confidence. I doubt he'll be great right out of the gate but I think he'll take the Browns to the playoffs within the next 3 years. I mean, it's a fairly weak division with 3 mediocre teams and the Brownies scraping the bottom of that barrel. If I were a Browns fan I'd at least be somewhat excited that there's a possibility of winning some games in the future.

Picking Manziel was THE one thing I didn't want my team to do this year. How dumb do we look now that we passed on the chance to draft Watkins and we already knew that Gordon was going to be suspended. Almost every day I curse God that I had to be born into this passion for a horrible, horrible franchise.
Also, picking between Tebow and Manziel is like picking between death by electrocution and death by drowning..either way it fucking sucks.

I actually kinda like Mel Kiper Jr in a weird way. He's pretty intuitive and doesn't miss often. On the one hand he was saying don't take Manziel early but he still had Johnny as his #1 rated qb. I'm not a hater but I think Mel is dead wrong. Manziel is gonna tank. It's not gonna be pretty.
He'll have too many off the field problems and get run out of the NFL. Maybe Boner can explain the finer positive points of playing in the CFL after washing out of the NFL?

I hate when people say this. What exactly makes you think that he is gonna have off the field problems? The autograph incident? the drunkenness charge that happens to college kids every weekend? I can see saying he doesn't have the physical skills to succeed, but the "off the field" stuff being his downfall is just silly.
