Speaking of Coldplay, you can literally point to individual Radiohead albums that inspired major bands' entire existences. Can you honestly say with a straight face that AF is as influential as them?

Right, I'm just disagreeing with the statement that AF is currently as influential and consistent as Radiohead. In five years? Maybe as influential. Certainly not as consistent.

I'm not going to argue as to their influence or mass appeal or anything, but even just narrowing it to artists that masturbate to Joy Division b-sides, I'll take the National over Arcade Fire in terms of consistency, and I'm a big fan of both.

"Reflektor" is solid though.
I don't mean to bag on AF too much. Good band, would see again. But the idea that they are the only band worthy of comparison Radiohead (or any other band you name as best) is ridiculous.

Avett Brothers are consistently top notch. More so than both older and younger bands from The Black Keys to Pearl Jam nowadays to Bruce and even dare I say Coldplay? Rush also has an extremely impressive career. Ups and downs obviously, but with such a long span of time it's bound to happen. Dream Theater up until the last three albums were always great, and now they're boring. AF still have a lot to prove. I think they're okay.

I'm probably one of the bigger fans of Oasis around here but even I won't argue their late stuff is no where near the caliber of their first four albums (5 if you want to include Masterplan) Once Noel stopped writing all of the songs they went downhill fast. - Side note really looking forward to his second solo album later this year.
Standing on the Shoulders of Giants (2000) is probably the last full CD of theirs I enjoyed. The last few have a good track or two each but pretty weak overall.
IMO Coldplay has had ONE great album with Parachutes and one OK album with Rush of Blood to the Head. From there, again there is a good track here or there, but nothing really does it for me. Again just my opinion. Oasis is not the most talented band in the world. Their songs are very basic and not a whole lot of depth, even Noel admits as much in various interviews. They are what they are, but they are very good at it.
If they played a lot of their old stuff, I would be ALL about this. But they probably wouldn't expect for the big ones - Fix You, Yellow, The Scientist, and maybe another couple. Then a bunch of their new bad shit. In which case, I wouldn't want this..
