I purchase 2 meals a day on the grounds and am a pretty heavy drinker, especially when the sun goes down and the temp drops a little. I do slam a few beers at camp to help keep cost down. I would say that I spend about 100 dollars a day. I don't buy keepsakes or gifts so that is strictly a food and beer budget.

Food: As far as cash you will need to pay food vendors, I budget $100 for food inside Centeroo. You will always eat breakfast at your camp, and you'll likely eat lunch there, too. Sandwiches, chips (aka crisps), dips, beef jerky, hummus, and lots and lots of water are what you need at camp. I drink a gallon a day. So you could likely spend another $60 on that stuff at a local grocery store on your want to the festival. Total: $160 USD
Beer: I don't do much drinking inside Centeroo because it's really expensive, but count on $5 cans of beer inside the venue if you want to do that. You will not want to drink during the day in Centeroo. It's just too hot, you'll dehydrate, and then crash out early...missing the late night which is IMO the best part of Roo. But I do support drinking in the morning. I can usually get down 4-6 beers between waking up and on the walk into Centeroo. I will go back to camp and have some a few more at some point, and then I usually like to wind down with another when I get back to camp in the wee hours of the morning. So that's 10 beers a day. If you drink regular lite beer, that's about $1 per can. Craft beer generally is $2/can. I like to drink good beer, so I wager about $20 per day in beer that I drink at the campsite. Total: $80
Trust me, I know you think you're going to want to drink all day but that's not a good idea. Drink in the morning before you go in, take an afternoon break and clothing change trip to camp and have some more, and then just enjoy the music into the late night. If you must, drink inside Centeroo after the sun goes down. The being drunk in the heat of the day is a sure recipe for passing out at Roo.
tj and I are coming from England so we need to get our cash sorted pretty far in advance.
How much do two hungry, heavy drinkers need honestly? We would prefer an over-estimate.
Include the extra for the beer we will buy you for helping us out.
THANKS
Last year I think I spent somewhere between 4 and 5 hundred on beer and food in Centeroo. This year I'm giving myself a daily allowance to prevent that. Beers are probably between 6-8 dollars. If you hit the broo'ers tent at all, it's easy 10-20$ a trip if you have a beer and a few samples. This year they are selling a reusable beer cup that will save you 2$ a beer so that should help a little. The cup filled with beer is 15$ so if you refill it 7 times it pays for itself.
Meals are all over the place. I usually plan on one decent 10-15$ meal a day and maybe a small item for like $5 mixed in late night (something like a BBQ sandwich or slice of pizza).

I think that $100 a day is a pretty good estimate. Since you guys are coming from so far, maybe you want to bump it up to $150-$200 a day. Depends on how much food and drink you'll be bringing in with you too, I suppose.
I'd say $400 is about a good estimate. Your beer budget is probably similar to my "other" budget, and I purchase most of my meals. Roo is the one vacation a year where I say fuck it to everything, so I really just take the maximum I'm comfortable taking, and then spend freely and without guilt - food, smoothies, etc. I just make sure to have enough for food.
Edit: $400 each, in case that wasn't clear.

I agree with the $100/day as a good starting point. If you eat a a few meals at your camp site and bring in some beer and/booze, that should be more than enough. If you want to let loose and buy everything, I'd definitely go higher. Then of course, it is possible to do Bonnaroo on a budget and bring less money in.
Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.

I've gone to Roo and only spent $300 and had an amazing time, and then I've also gone and spent $600 and had a great time. Since you guys will be coming from out of the country, I imagine you're going to want to live it up a bit, and rightfully so. Not including travel expenses, I'd say $400-$500 each would ensure you have a fantastic weekend on the farm. I would bring a little bit more than what you expect to spend, so that you have it if need be (I only say this because you're traveling and I don't know you're spending habits). I tend to stick with drinking beer at the campsite - late into the night if I want a beer I'll buy from inside Centeroo, rather than trekking back to camp. Late at night is when I start blowing money.. Like everyone said, if you see some interesting beers in Centeroo that you want to try, go for it - but I'd do most of your drinking in camp. But as someone said earlier, be careful drinking too much beer during the day - mostly drink beer in the morning - water during the day - back to the alcohol at night. But also be careful drinking a lot of alcohol at night if you take any party favors, as that can dehydrate you as well.. always be drinking water basically. There is a lot of great food at Bonnaroo, I usually just bring some small things to snack and eat on in between meals, but I tend to purchase about 2 meals a day inside Centeroo on average. Could easily spend $100 or more on food/drinks inside Centeroo throughout the weekend.. plus, depending on what you're into there are "other" things that usually take about $200 or so out of your budget for the weekend. So yeah, it really depends on how much partying you plan on doing.. if you plan on going apeshiz bring like $400-500 or so.

I'm assuming everything is usually cash and try to avoid ATMs whenever possible for high fees, but good to know they're available (especially if you're not comfortable carrying a ton of cash). Not sure how UK banking/credit system works, but it would be good for you to know how they handle exchange rates/fees if you do have to do an emergency withdraw.
I agree with everyone above...$100/day. Drink more water than beer. I haven't been to TN in awhile, but I remember high 80s - low 90s (Farenheit with high humidity, so it feels even hotter.
I just get cases of beer to drink at camp/walking to Centeroo then bring liquor/beer disguised as other drinks to get into the grounds. Beer/brown liquor as tea, light liquor as water. You will save $100 just on beer purchases.
I usually bring $300 but that's including my cut of gas and fun shit. Usually cook breakfast at camp, purchase 2-3 more meals throughout the day/late night. Stick to that and you're bonnarooing on a budget.
Emoney serves more of a purpose than any of you, especially Nate, whose incessant, garbled ramblings are so mindless and pointless that I get depressed just seeing them.
I bring in ALL my drinks and spend no more than 150 at roo.
that's eating breakfast at my camp and planning for 3 $10 meals (lunch, supper, late night snack) within centeroo.
I also bring in all my drinks, because I hate beer, and they don't serve wine or liquor. So I don't spend any money in Bonnaroo on alcohol. I do buy water (they do have free water stations, but they often have long lines) and food, usually 2 meals a day and maybe a snack or two, and I usually spend around $35 a day on those. I always buy a poster and a tee-shirt ($35 each) but I put those on my band card.

Thanks for your help everyone. We won't be buying "other" things, so thats one expense gone.
I think we will bring a load of beer with us and maybe some snacks. We have both been to loads of festivals before, and we never bothered cooking before. We just take things home with us again.
The exchange rate is pretty good at the moment so $7 for a beer is about what we pay in a regular bar here.
Cash machines isn't an ideal situation for either of us, but we will have a car, so we can put cash in there rather than carrying it all (please don't rob us).

$7 for a beer... I take being surrounded by hipster bars for granted.

I never have more than $20 on me at a time. when you go into centeroo you can grab a "over 21" wrist band and then leave you're wallet/id at your car. I figure if i'm going to lose something I don't want it to be all of my money.

IF we go to the cheapest bars or pubs here you might, and only might, get a pint for $5. Absolute cheapest.
We are excited for the prospect of buying beer for $7 at a festival.
That's awesome. Here in the states (can't speak for everyone) but I'd say the average price for a beer in an average bar would be $4 for import and $3 for domestic (give or take fifty cents) So $7 for a budlight at Roo is a jump in price, compared to what we're used to paying for in bars - but you come to expect that at festivals. Although, it works in your favor since you're used to paying that anyways

Remind me Freddy, where did you say you were parking?

Being able to get a Sweetwater for $7 at a fest is my dream scenario. That's what I get for living up North
Nashville's beer prices are pretty cheap actually (compared to CT- I pay 5-7 for any good beer. $4 or so for a cheapo water beer)
This money talk is making me relive the money spent at Boston Calling this past weekend. I spent upwards of 300 bucks in 2.5 days on food and booze ($7 Sam Adams).

I usually spend most of the money I'll be spending in the first day. Any supplies I need while on the farm and then a poster or two if I can grab one. The rest of the time money is spent on food or drink which doesn't amount to much. I tend to spend a decent amount on water bottles because even though they have filling stations nothing beats getting an ice cold bottle immediately and continuing on the walk to the next stage.
You all are spending way too much money. $100 a seems like a lot for a day. That's like 2 meals and 12 beers inside of centeroo each day. Sneak alcohol into centeroo to keep beer cost down. I could buy 48 beers and 64 grilled cheese sandwiches with $100 a day. Now if you want to buy t-shirts, posters, and stuff like that I could see spending $100 a day, but not just on beer and food

I'm with you, my assessment of beer and food ONLY costs including tips: 2 meal sized offerings ($20); bring in some snacks to tide you throughout the day; 5 beers or so in centeroo ($40). I usually budget 60-80 day in hopes of spending less or using it on other enjoyments.

Don't buy bud light at Roo. There are plenty of good beers at the brooers tent for the same price. I know Sierra Nevada was 7 last year and there were about 3-5 other $7 options in the brooers tent from various breweries
