Anyone here fans of the Editors? They seem have 5 fans in the US but I dig a few albums. Rock werchetr is just crushing things.
Saw them ten years ago and then again this past summer at Lowlands. Loved their first three albums, but the band went downhill after they fired the guitar player. New music blows. That said, the aforementioned Lowlands show was quite the spectacle (headlining for 30,000 people) with a very enthused crowd.
Rock Werchter announced their 3th headliner, Queens Of The Stone Age. So far they have; Gorillaz + QOTSA (Thursday) Nick Cave (Sunday)
And Pearl Jam, The XX, The Killers, The Prodigy, Editors, LCD Soundsystem, Florence + The Machine, Björk, Nine Inch Nails etc etc are all still rumoured to take the next open spots :')
Are you planning to go? Or do you prefer another festival (Dour, Pukkelpop etc.)?
I think I would go to all of them if I lived there.
Planning to do Rock Werchter, Dour and Down The Rabbit Hole.. But I'm still on the fence for Mad Cool (which takes place in the same weekend as Dour) aswell, so.. Not sure yet (+ also need to convince my friends to join me haha) If I don't fuck up my finals, I might do a day at Pukkelpop/Lowlands aswell who knows haha

They litteraly do a headline show at either Rock Werchter or Pukkelpop, it's a bit of meme over here if you haven't seen them at this point. They're good but shouldn't be billed that high here and especially come over here to take a headline spot when there could be something cooler booked haha. Strange that they never broke through worldwide, they have a few good albums tho (I think you can compare their stuff to Kings Of Leon or something, idek)

I couldn’t also help but think of Elbow when reading this.
I'm really disappointed in Laneway after last year's lineup, TBH. Odesza, Anderson Paak and Pond would be cool, I love The Babe Rainbow, and I'm sure I'd have a good time at Sylvan Esso or Mac DeMarco (though I wouldn't seek them out on their own) - but that's a whole lot of meh after seeing Nick Murphy, Tame Impala, Glass Animals, King Gizz, A.B. Original, Gang of Youths, and Jagwar Ma in a single day last summer.

You might like Aldous Harding, Alex Cameron, Moses Sumney, (Sandy) Alex G, TWOD and Wolf Alice as well. It's not the best lineup, but it's decent enough for a one-day festival IMO.

Don't get me wrong, I'm sure I'd still have a good time if I went - but it's not a cheap festival, and there's not nearly enough on there for my tastes to justify the cost.
People rave about The War on Drugs all the time on this board, but I find them boring as batshit. It's just Pitchfork-approved muzak. Aldous Harding is alright, but a littler sleepier than what I tend to seek out at festivals. Not super familiar with the others.

I mean sure, TWOD might not be your thing but the undercard is just way better than last year imo.. If that were a one day festival over here with that line up, I sure as hell would go

Different tastes, I say last year's lineup crushed this year's.
Laneway was in Detroit for a year or two some time ago, but it didn't really take off, because who goes to Detroit unless they absolutely have to?
Sampha and GoldLink are also on the line up, but not on this poster.. Massive Attack is rumoured to be the last headliner (because they canceled last, 2017, year) Anderson .Paak is also rumoured because he had to cancel aswell last year and is touring again this year..

oh I know. Traveled around for a month and a half last year though and not sure I can afford it again. We shall see!
Saw that Kasabian add on this morning. Man oh man..
Your thoughts on Kasabian?
I'm a big Kasabian fan! It really sucks they don't get booked for NA fests, but since they never caught on over here, it makes sense. I know they've been booked for Coachella a few times - and I'd love to be apart of one of those Mojave dance parties.
I figure to really experience one of their shows, go check them at a Euro fest sometime. Which won't be this coming year for me, but hopefully in the new future.
