The amount of people that put Kanye in their top 5 and the fact that I'm a HUGE Kanye fan that didn't enjoy the show makes me feel like a jerk....
You feel like the jerk? I probably had more fun at that set than any show I've ever seen. I should be the one who feels like a jerk since there is other fans who didn't enjoy it or times were ruined. But I don't. It was fucking awesome and I'm glad I risked my life in that pit line cause it was totally worth it. I do wish he would have just done a set like he did at Coachella a few years back though.
I feel like anyone who has Cloud Notbings on their top 10, but didn't go see Ty Segall, really shit the bed with their home work. But that's just my opinion,
I was waaaay too tired to run into the crowd for Ty Segall...wish I wasn't. I just enjoyed the show sitting in the grass outside the tent listening to him say "give it up for Sean Paul everybody" Sean Paul...pretty sure he was saying Sean Paul. If he played a little earlier though I would have been soooo into it

If it weren't for Neutral Milk Hotel (and possibly Danny Brown idk how possible it would be to get into the Kanye pit after seeing Danny Brown) playing the same day I would have been right there in the pit with you guys and I probably would be saying the same thing as you. I'd walk out like whaaat people didn't enjoy that show? People still don't like Kanye whhhyyyyy??? That show would have been perfect for an intimate Kanye West show with only his biggest fans there (which it was probably like in the pit). But it just wasn't the show I wanted him to bring to Bonnaroo and change history with. On an off note how crazy would it be if Kanye just unannounced came out and performed College Dropout in it's entirety for it's 10th anniversary...then after that went into his other stuff after the first hour. But like not even saying that he was going to do that...you're expecting some Yeezus intro or something and all the sudden you hear the voiceover going "KANYE CAN YOU GIVE SOMETHING FOR THE KIDS TO SING" and then We Don't Care comes on.

I completely get what you're saying and anyone else who had that complaint. If I had not been in the pit I think I would have felt similar. And it's a good thing he didn't play "We don't care" cause people around me would have died from drowning in my tears.

1 Elton John 2 John Butler Trio 3 Cage the Elephant 4 J roddy Walston & the Business 5 Cake 6 Avett brothers 7 Jake bugg 8 Jack White 9 Dr. Dog 10 Flaming Lips
Top ten sets from this years Bonnaroo for me: 1. Kanye West- In the top 2 for most intense show I've ever seen, the only other competition is when I saw him on the Yeezus tour. You'll see mixed reviews from this show much like anything else Kanye does. I was in the pit for this and the energy and show was incredible. For those in the back who's times were ruined or those who didn't enjoy the show I'm truly sorry, but for those of us in the pit damn that was crazy. All I could think about while in the pit was "Damn I remember hearing about Kanye at Bonnaroo in 08 long before I ever attended this place, now here I am in the pit for his return." It was such a surreal experience for me. This show could have been better though. I have no problem with the rants at all as long as they don't affect the set list. On the Yeezus tour that wasn't the case at this show it was. That's my only complaint though.
This show was so amazing, we were in the second row in the middle. Did you hear a big group of people singing happy birthday before his show started?
I was part of this; met a girl in the pit line whose birthday was that day, but I had no idea if we were singing it for her or North at that point haha

1. St. Paul & the Broken Bones- Great show, lead singer was absolutely loving it and crowd was responding to his gospel like vocals.
2. Chance the Rapper- Seems like he is taking every opportunity on these festival shows to make it a special concert. Felt incredibly intimate in the middle of that tent among thousands of others.
3. Derek Trucks Superjam- After the Rangers lost the cup in 2OT, I knew this was the best thing to cheer me up. A once in a lifetime spectacle, where everyone was grooving for 2 hours.
4. Black Pistol Fire- If you were there you knew what happened in the back of the what stage field, if not they'll be back on the farm soon enough.
5. Arctic Monkeys- Anticipated this show being good but WOW, AM are the real deal, pure rock stars. "ONE FOR THE ROAD---OOOO OOOOO"
6. Cut Copy- Wasn't going to see this show despite only hearing amazing things. I was gonna get pit for JW but I needed a sweatshirt for LN's, So the Bonnaroo god's algined me with Cut/Copy who wore me out for those Late Nights. Every song felt like their encore, great crowd.
7. The Head and the Heart Perfect for sunset for a beautiful day Friday was. I was at there first show in 2011 when their album didn't even come out yet. They sounded great.
8. Real Estate Been waiting to see them for 3 years and finally did. I came when they opened with Beach Comber. If it wasn't that I was awake for 26 hours going into this show it would have been #1. I was exhausted.
9. Tedeschi Trucks Band Susan Tedeschi is the real deal.
