It seems like every year I learn something to make my next year better. Last year I learned that at least once during the weekend I should stay at a tent and keep pushing up for a three artist run. You get to enjoy the shade and make friends all while having a great spot. You might miss someone you wanted to see, but the people you meet make up for that. I tried my plan out this year and it worked great.
My lesson learned this year is to make sure I meet my neighbors at camp. I was with Camp Inforoo VIP (Camp Sparklefart) and I was so much enjoying their company that I didn't branch out to meet our neighbors. I think that is my only mild regret this year. So next year I'm going to make housewarming gifts for neighbors to ensure that I go meet them

1. Bring stove and cook my own meals. I'm sick of the over priced vendors. I'll probably only buy Spicy Pie and $1 grilled cheeses next year. 2. Bring a table for beer pong/putting shit on. 3. Not use my phone at all 4. I might try and arrive a little later but I've grown a love for Pod 1.
Lessons learned this year: 1. I am getting old and actually starting to consider concert chairs 2. Need a set of those dry bags from Walmart's camping section 3. Time to compromise and do VIP so my husband will go--I always miss him! 4. Try not to spend all day Monday crying from post-Bonnaroo depression :-)
I met a chick who had bracelets she made all on her backpack. Everytime someone came around (like the good vibes dude who was fanning everyone during Tedeschi Trucks Band) she gave a bracelet. By the end of the weekend, I had so many bracelets. Each bracelet has a story and good memory of some cool person I met. I want to keep that going.
It was my first year so I was blown away by how exhuasted I was and didnt leave camp until like 3pm every day lol next year I'm going to try for more bands. But I did make it to every set I had on my list to see. And a few more.
Oh and next year, I'll make it to the meetups. I was so lost and confused and my time was off. I also forgot a watch and my phone stayed dying most of the time. I'll bring a watch next year, too.
I'm gonna try to chill the fuck out and stop worrying about little things. Before Jack on Saturday I went back to camp to get something I didn't really need, and ended up missing the first few songs of his set. Then when I got back to What I changed into my costume for the night, which took another 10-15 minutes. Then I went down to try and get in the pit and instead of listening to the music I was standing there anxiously awaiting my turn to get into the pit. Then after only 3 or 4 songs I returned to the back of the field to be with my groop. I probably missed a good 60% of his set for no real good reason. Then on the way to the superjam I had to change the batteries in my costume, which took another ten minutes (it's a PITA to get in and out of). I never really settle in and relax when I'm at shows; I want to change this.
Also don't get my wrong, my costume fucking rocked, but I'm not sure it was worth it.

I will stop trying to convince myself there is a chance in hell I will make a noon show on Friday. Bring a better variety of food to carry in with me. I liked not going to vendors for more than one meal, but I got burnt out on peanut butter and tuna (eaten separately, of course) I will bring a thinner jacket and/or long sleeve shirt. I froze my ass off Friday night but didn't bring my hoodie with me Saturday night because it took up too much space. Ended up freezing again. I will be more social at camp because groop is the best.
I'm never coming in on Hillsboro Hwy again, 2 years in a row on those damn back roads is enough. I'll go past 127 to the next exit and come back up from now on (unless someone has a better way of avoiding the east tollbooth). Hopefully, that will allow me to get to tent only as well. Each of the last 2 years my plan has been to get there, but then I haven't pulled into my parking spot in pod 10 until 10ish and at that point it is just too hot and too far to lug stuff. I still need to be more social with neighbors/at brunch/waiting for shows. I tend to get there at some point, but it takes a few drinks. I like my solo rooing and all, but I need to find a better way to meet up with some of you other inforooers for shows once in a while.

I need a chair. I've never wanted to be bothered with one, but the back support is necessary. I need to be healthier and lose weight. This year took a lot out of me physically. I couldn't stand for long periods of time. I barely had enough stamina to get me through the weekend. I'm strongly considering VIP next year. After 5 years of GA, I feel like my neighbors are getting younger and younger. I feel like we're trying to get totally different things out of the weekend.
1. Consider VIP 2. Bring liquor into Centeroo, thus cutting down on buying beer. (we did this Friday night and it was glorious, just buy a coke and mix) 3. Figure out a way to make good coffee at the campsite
Also, I'm gonna start listening to my gut. Since before the lineup even dropped, something was telling me to be at NMH if they were gonna be there - even though I hadn't yet heard a single song of theirs. Since the lineup dropped, I ended up falling in love with Aeroplane. But I didn't go to NMH. Instead I waited 2.5 hours in the pit line for Kanye, only to have them close the pit before I got in, while NMH threw down a ridiculous set. Definitely GRRR-ing over that one still.

Hangout with more of you in person and not be so shy
I say the same things every year.
Yeah honestly I don't see it changing much for me. Unfortunately it's just the way I am. However every moment I got to spend with anyone was great. So thanks for that if I had the chance to run into you.

I learned to get out of that line at all costs. We sat for 9 hours this year. I understand there was mud, but there was mud at the other tollbooths also, and we read of people waiting several hours in the line that we were in, then abandoning ship and being inside in less than an hour. Most of the time, when you're trying to "do what you're supposed to do" you get fucked.

I'm also going to do a practice set up of my camp. This year I discovered that my EZ UP roof was missing. Fortunately my Groop had extra tarps and zip ties.

1. Don't arrive at bonnaroo drunk. After I sobered up and everybody had set up their tents in our pod, I was completely lost. Lost for two hours. I missed Robert Delong because of this :\
2. Actually pay attention to landmarks when I arrive. This ties in with number 1.
3. Arrive with all substances you need. This is usually what I do at every festival I go to, but I slacked before Roo this year. I paid for it big time walking around camp sites on friday and saturday.
4. Invest in a phone that will actually work on the farm. I spent tons of time by myself or with strangers(not that it wasn't fun) because I wasn't able to get in touch with my group for most of the festival.
5. Actually remember that I'm a part of a forum where everybody goes to bonnaroo. The brunch/camp inforoo didn't even enter my mind until mid day saturday.
