As far as Electronic acts go, I want to throw this out there and see if any of ya'll feel the same way I do. In the last several years, it feels like Bonnaroo keeps rotating the same big electronic acts like Bassnectar, Pretty Lights, Skrillex, Deadmau5, Kaskade etc. You get the idea. Nothing wrong with them I love all of those artists, but at this point who hasn't seen these acts at LEAST once or twice?! I personally, would like to see a change in the electronic rotation. One of my big hopes for 2015 is that Bonnaroo will X these and go for an electronic act that is Major in the scale of something like the Chemical Brothers or Orbital. I would love to see something like this as a late night act on the Which stage.
I would agree with you 100% BUT I have somehow not seen Bassnectar, which shocks/disappoints me every time I think about it. So I will hope for Bassnectar, but their several acts that I'd love to see a Bonnaroo bring to change it up, but I find it HIGHLY unlikely we will get any of them
Fatboy Slim Chemical Brothers The Prodigy Portishead
Fatboy Slim isn't unreasonable. He plays US dates not-infrequently. Almost no shot on the other three though.

Yeah, that's why I had listed Fatboy Slim first cause that's the only realistic one I listed
Hey. Folks, if we get a big enough comedian for them to play the What stage, when does he play it and does he only do one set or what's the deal? And let's say the comedian being discussed is Dave Chappelle
I also posted this over in the definitive undercard thread as well.... Btw, I developed the entire schedule for this lineup and if I can figure out how to attach it to a post, I'll share it everybody.

I feel it's missing more of a harder rock group as a headliner. Maybe switching arcade fire with Pearl Jam or Foo Fighters.

Good point, I actually was going to do one of those two but it just seems to me like that's too many old headliners. You know, three acts and the YOUNGEST one started in the 90's, just seems unlikely to me. What would make sense to me would be if they tried to make up for the lack of real rock with a couple acts at the top of the undercard, so I could see the Strokes replacing Beck and Modest Mouse is up there.. But that doesn't really fix the problem of TRUE rock.... If they can get a major, classic metal act to play LN which like Maiden or Slayer or Megadeath

Very True! I was also thinking The Black Keys headlining would be very likely and would fit both groups. However I don't find them as big a headliner as arcade fire, Pearl Jam or even Fleetwood Mac. Maybe another small headliner like MMJ could be added for a four headliner scenario.

He might do an hourlong set before a headliner, and could also introduce acts on the What stage that day
Also, I'm really not sure Roo would put a metal act on a stage at this point. From what I heard, the metal tent drew the smallest crowd that night -- would Slayer or Megadeath on the Which draw significantly more people than Mastodon, Deafheaven and Meshuggah (three of the absolute best current metal acts) in a tent?
What’s different now in metal aren’t so much the flag-wavers at the core but the more approachable outliers — those “pop-metal” bands no longer appear to exist. Not that long ago, pop-friendly metal and hard rock ranked among the most popular music in the world. Up until the early ’00s, you could find ginormously successful examples of this music in the upper reaches of the pop charts going back more than 30 years, starting with the genre’s acknowledged originators, Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath. No matter how metal and hard rock changed over the years, there was always a version for the pop market. It could have been arena rock (AC/DC’s Back in Black), the New Wave of British Heavy Metal (Def Leppard’s Pyromania), L.A. glam (Quiet Riot’s Metal Health), post-NWOBHM (Def Leppard’s Hysteria), post–L.A. glam (Guns N’ Roses’ Appetite for Destruction), thrash (Metallica’s … And Justice for All), post-thrash (Metallica’s “Black Album”), grunge (Soundgarden’s Superunknown), rap-rock (Linkin Park’s Hybrid Theory), or post-grunge (Creed’s Human Clay). Some of these albums are masterpieces, and some are the opposite of masterpieces. But no matter the style of metal, they sold millions and millions of copies.
Now, hardly anything sells “millions and millions of copies” these days. But metal has been particularly averse to mass acceptance in the past decade. Pop-metal as a concept3 has been rendered virtually extinct. What happened?

I think Grantland is gonna look back and feel silly. Metal is the new EDM. Iron Maiden is gonna be headlining major fests in no time.
To add on to my previous statement about bringing in some variety when it comes to Electronic acts.. please Bonnaroo book Bonobo.
I will let you know that I've seen Bonobo live and I'm a huge fan and it really just didn't do it for me. Sorry for bringing down the mood. But, if we get a more experimental/chill electronic act I'd prefer it be someone else, though I'm sure Bonobo would get a LN slot and would draw a decent crowd, so I'd be happy that there was a packed LN that would eat up a bit of crowd that I could skip and be totally cool with it.

Well I guess you could qualify MMJ as a 4th headliner in my lineup, they're just so early because I gave The Dead and MMJ long sets because I feel like the most amazing thing in the world would be watching two of the best jam bands ever close out the what stage especially it being The Dead's 50th anniversary.
Btw, Dave Chappelle was in my lineup but I just wasn't sure how to bill that big of a comedian
Speaking of... Does any anybody think that they would do a Dave Chappelle Block Party Superjam with Chappelle on the what stage after his set before the headliner OR they could do the superjam before his set and then do the Headliner. OR just make it one big, amazing set where Dave does an hour and then just moves straight into the superjam with no downtime (dream come true)
so it could go...
Dave Chappelle (5-6) --> DVBPSJ (7-9) --> Arcade Fire (10-12) OR DCBPSJ (5-7) --> Dave Chappelle (8-9) --> Arcade Fire (10-12) OR Dave Chappelle (6-7) --> DCBPSJ (7-9) --> Arcade Fire (10-12)

That may be the only realistic lineup that I won't go to, I'd actually be livid if that was the lineup, I'd just give my ticket away to someone who'd enjoy it more. That being said, if the lineup drops and it's close to that, the person who can give me the best reasoning for then getting my ticket will get it for free, you'll only have to pay for shipping. I hope somebody actually takes me up on this if that's the lineup

Really that bad?
Yeah man, there are maybe twelve shows that I would REALLY want to see on that lineup. Prince, MMJ, Beck (one of only two shows I'm dying to see), Lorde (kinda,I'd really just want to see a few songs cause so much of the crowd would be dumb highschool/college girls that I jus couldn't take for very long), Iggy and the Stooges (the other show I'm dying to see), Local Natives, and Flume (I've already seen him,but his LN would be the best dance party at roo, hands down) OH and the superjam because that'd be amazing, but we all know The Last Walts isn't happening. But if they do it, they need to do it right/huge and bring as many of the originals as possible, which I think they'd have to put on a stage, am I right?

Superjams have always traditionally been in a tent, I doubt that they would deviate from keeping it in a tent unless they did something insane like had a Paul McCartney led Superjam. I don't think a last Waltz Superjam is impossible. Someone brought it up the idea during that Superjam AMA on reddit with the guy who organizes it. Perhaps the seeds for such a show have been planted. Probably led by Robbie Robertson and Jeff Tweedy.
The Dead - Arcade Fire - Foo Fighters My Morning Jacket - Lorde - Snoop Dogg & Dr. Dre - The Dead Weather The String Cheese Incident - Bassnectar - Foster the People - Dave Chappelle Modest Mouse - Big Boi - Fleet Foxes - Primus - MGMT - Girl Talk - Tame Impala Band of Horses - Big Gigantic - Ziggy Marley - Sigur Ros - Warren Haynes Band Doors Superjam, featuring: Robby Krieger, John Densmore, Eddy Vedder, and Ben Folds Earl Sweatshirt - Julian Casablancas - Ben Folds Five - Jeff Tweedy

Yes, I saw that actually, and he actually got a response saying how badly he wants to do it. I'm not saying they won't perhaps TRY to do it, I'm just saying that I don't think it'll actually happen. And yeah, I guess, because I only associate myself with people who listen to good music, The Last Waltz just seems like it'd be a huge show. But if they put the skrillex super jam in a tent, the last waltz can be in a tent, not comparing the music, just the crowd size.

Adele is the rare artist I pretty much can't stand. Take her name off the lineup and it looks much, much better to me. The Killers are kinda similar for me. It's not that they're past their peak. It's that their peak was nearly ten years ago and lasted about two albums.
Drake wouldn't be billed lower than fourth, and Iggy & Stooges probably no lower than fifth. I'll be honest, my reaction to that lineup was 'ugh' but on second thought I realized how excited I'd get for Prince/Phish/Drake/MMJ/Iggy & Stooges.
Oh, and the context for booking big comedians would be Conan OBrian and Chris Rock

I know Robby Krieger and John Densmore are putting together a show to honor Ray and Jim, would be cool if Robby enjoyed his time on the farm this year enough to bring that show to Roo.
