Adele is the rare artist I pretty much can't stand. Take her name off the lineup and it looks much, much better to me. The Killers are kinda similar for me. It's not that they're past their peak. It's that their peak was nearly ten years ago and lasted about two albums.
Drake wouldn't be billed lower than fourth, and Iggy & Stooges probably no lower than fifth. I'll be honest, my reaction to that lineup was 'ugh' but on second thought I realized how excited I'd get for Prince/Phish/Drake/MMJ/Iggy & Stooges.
Oh, and the context for booking big comedians would be Conan OBrian and Chris Rock
I just can't wrap my mind around the hype for Drake, didn't Conan come fairly recently. My bad, I left Phish out, cause I want to be able to say I saw the Dead and Phish to have seen two groups that are the most famous for what they do. Is there even a decent shot that Iggy is a legitimate possibility? Cause I'd love getting crazy at that show!
Ohhhhhhh Sweet Jesus, I will cry in happiness if this happens. Dear lord, I can't explain the excitement that came over me just thinking of this.
I know Robby Krieger and John Densmore are putting together a show to honor Ray and Jim, would be cool if Robby enjoyed his time on the farm this year enough to bring that show to Roo.
Ahhhhh, great to know, I'm sure he did, cause I've heard nothing but great things about the superjam and that all the artists looked like they were having a blast

Drake: writes better hooks than anyone in hip hop, which landed him on every other rap song on the radio for like three years straight. Writes some good verses too, while shaking up the genre with crazy tracks like "Worst Behavior" and themes & topics you don't normally see in hip hop. His albums are excellent, with a great mix of more standard rap tracks and the more poppy stuff. If you've only heard him on the radio, you've probably heard more of the poppy stuff.
Next summer he starts headlining festivals if he wants to. There's only so many current acts that can do it, and the big fests are starting to exhaust the set that's been at it: Eminem, Kanye, Jay-Z. Outkast of course is everywhere this year. After that, who headlines? Drake. Kendrick. Possibly Nicki Minaj. Macklemore at midsize fests. Dunno who else. I guess I could see Nas on it, but he just hasn't been getting top billing and his career isn't on a massive upswing right now. I'm sure I'm forgetting somebody. But it's not a huge landscape.
Iggy & the Stooges -- they've apparently done summer tours the past couple years, mostly around Europe. Could happen, and would definitely be the unexpected special something that'd stand out on a Roo lineup.
edit: also that lineup that got posted right before my post might be the only realistic one I've seen. good job

Ok, thank you, that explains it and I feel like his production doesn't appeal to me though. I certainly haven't given him a fair shot, I'll have to do so if he's gonna play a festival I'm going to though. Thanks for the proper explanation
Beck Bill Murray My Morning Jacket Lorde Kendrick Lamar Haim Pretty Lights

Not sure if you're putting those in order or not, and not that it really matters, but i would probably say tiesto would be billed ahead of pretty lights right?
I think Grantland is gonna look back and feel silly. Metal is the new EDM. Iron Maiden is gonna be headlining major fests in no time.
Can't tell if serious
100% serious. The electronic backlash is nigh, and metal/hard rock is posed to make a serious comeback. There are already a whole bunch of successful metal focused fests in Europe who are pulling in acts like Metallica, Kvelertak, Anthrax, etc. Mainstream pubs like Pitchfork are covering more and more metal. Paul Tollett lists IM as a dream headliner for Coachella (and he was real close to getting Sabbath in 2012). Mainstream music is only a few years away from taking a very hard turn.

I kinda want to believe you, but I'm just not quite sure. It makes sense as a backlash not just to EDM, but to other big genres, namely sappy acoustic 'roots' music and twee indie pop. I think we're due for a bit of harder rock, but I don't know if it'll come in a metal revival, and I don't think it'll sound like the kind of metal we're hearing now. If I had to guess, I'd guess it'd sound a bit like Sleigh Bells and a bit like Guns 'n Roses, but hell, I don't know. More 'hard rock' than 'heavy metal', at least not like what we've been hearing lately.

For only a handful of post on here, I applaud. This could actually be a plausible and feasible lineup next year. Ah so early...
Anywho, Id add a few lines starting around Florence. Put in some CheesEDM because MGMT wont due for that. Mix a lil metal in. Maybe Pretty Lights, Gramatik, Big G, Deadmau5, or Griz. Id replace Carlos with Outkast in the top 3 because Santana would be a great day show so 2nd line. MMJ will be in there somewhere as well. And nobody forget were owned a Mumford show at some point and time.
I would also like all that metal last year to translate to an Iron Maiden face smelting my head inners latenight set.

I do keep forgetting how likely mumford is due to 2013. However I don't know how likely Outkast will be next year, I do understand that bonnaroo has a tradition of sometimes doing a year after headliner but I feel Outkast playing so many fests this year has sort of made them coming next year late news. Many fest heads go to multiple festivals a year and would have already seen them. I do have MMJ in there, and feel santana would fit the lionel ritchie slot pretty well, or maybe I booked him too high because I just think he would be a kick ass bonnaroo performance. However I know I lack in the metal, edm, and indie rap genres. They're just not something I listen to much of.

marquee_mark I ment MMJ as a top 3 act, but otherwise Outkast is more of a hope. Wont be seeing them at any other fests ill be attending. But yea, have that whole Bonnaroo seconds thing they would be a prime candidate. I dont think they will stop the money train by next year, and may even make a new album.

Add some Weezer, Imogen Heap and Postal Service and I'd be instantly sold.
Also bring back Sam Smith for back-to-back years. His energy was perfect for 'Roo.
