Emoney serves more of a purpose than any of you, especially Nate, whose incessant, garbled ramblings are so mindless and pointless that I get depressed just seeing them.
The xx, flaming lips, Nick Cave, ZZ top, Weird Al, Billy idol and Animal collective were all Late nights the last two years. That's not counting rappers and super jams.

Yes, I understand and agree with the point you're making, just trying see what they were talking about
I miss LN experiences like the one had at sigur ros in 08. There are a few options out there and having jonsi back on the farm tops my list.
What exactly are you getting, I'm just curious. Are you talking about all the edm we get now a day?
Well no those years were not without their great EDM too, I'm more referencing unique (often international) artists that most of us arent previously exposed to. Goat went pretty hard this year, but thats not even the same ballpark. Flips were a great weird loving embrace late night this year, die antwoord was a great friday option and omar was awesome. I thoroughly enjoyed disclosure kaskade and fourteen assorted minutes at kalliope as well, I just want there to be more weird in the late night home stretch.

I felt like this year had some rather odd acts that very few of the people at roo would really know otherwise, like you said, Omar Thursday was an awesome treat for those who knew to attend, Flips are always amazing and every show on their current tour is exceptional, Goat is odd to say the least, die antwoord... Don't get me started (I quacking love them and I'm ready to cry because I didn't get to make it to roo this year so I missed them.) Also even for the genres that aren't guaranteed to be weird, I think roo represented the strange side as well with shows like Nick Cave and disclosure and darkside. Woah and somehow I didn't mention that they had an ENTIRE night with a stage of metal shows, if that HUGE of a variety of well known/somewhat strange acts PLUS the other main stream acts that they got doesn't do it for you, it kinda blows my mind. Now, I can't remember all of them, but it seems like 2013 lacked a lot of strange late nights, they had Empire of the Sun and Animal Collective, but other than that, nothing really bizarre or eye opening. in a perfect world, Bonnaroo would realize that a Death Grips LN show will be the craziest show ever on the farm sooooo... That needs to happen

Revised prediction. Would love something along the lines of Massive Attack, M83, or Sigur Ros, but not expecting it at all. Probably also a bit overzealous with the headliners too.

I feel like there was a fair amount of weird that often conflicted with my idea of a weird late night. Flips and nic cave AND superjam timing issue, goat played afternoon other set, omar tore it up early thursday night. I was in a prime spot through disclosure to be front and close for die antwoord but stupid fate intervened.
Come to think of it, perhaps my issue rests more heavily on scheduling conflicts.

He always says shit and then turns out to be a hypocrite. He lambasted Ultra and has since played twice. After writing off fests, two festivals (one in Canada and one in Europe I believe) announced their lineups and the mau5 popped up on both.

Ok, there you go. That's what I was thinking. The thing is that they have conflicts btween different genres, but they have to do that. It just sucks for those of us that listen to many genres of music. abd for all those who "don't know what we're talking about," I was agreeing with you all bad saying their have been a lot of weird and/or unique late nights.

Only problem is the headliners are WAY too weak, for MMJ to be up there, it would require an insane top two acts, they'll probably be billed like Lionel this year or they'll get billed fourth and then play LN Which or What. Otherwise this lineup sounds great to me!

How about that?
Besides that lineup being amazing (at least for me personally) I actually think that is at least somewhat realistic, especially the top four. While I think it IS realistic, it certainly lacks the wow factor that roo has had in their headliners the last couple years, but there are very few artists that can be signed that would have the same impact as sir Paul or sir Elton. I think that this year will be a slight step back as far as headliners go. But I'd be ecstatic to have what you proposed cause I know I could skip Beyoncé and get a good spot for LN SPEAKING OF.... out of curiosity, who are you proposing as LN's and pre-HL? I'm just curious because I'm highly interested in this mock lineup
