Let the hate begin.
No hate from me at all, the only comments I have are these: For MMJ to got in the top three, I think that the number two would have to be stronger than Outkast (especially cause they did damn near every festival this year). And, I would understand if the strokes were at Roo but I'd prefer/expect somebody else because they haven't really gained any more fame since they last played Roo (in 2011) Oh, and that Bassnectar Superjam would need much more than 1.5 hours.
And your idea for the Jim James/questlove superjam is great because it'd be awesome to see the two people that have curated the two best super jams to a "super superjam" if you will, haha. but I love your lineup and hope that you and I are somewhere near what the actual lineup will look like

I am hoping you or ForeKrueger is at least somewhat spot on. I'd pay to go to either of your Bonnaroos. Preferably some mix of the two.
If I may ask, what's the logic behind the Strokes?
I'm glad to hear my faux lineup has some support. And I'm not sure where FBL's reasoning is coming from for the Strokes but I can say that they're doing two shows real soon (one in Vegas and one at FYF) and they're supposed to be releasing a fall tour schedule soon. So that shows that they'll most likely still be touring around the time of roo next year, but the question is whether or not they'll be in the US or Europe. Either way, I've heard amazing things about their Governors Ball show so I'd support them at the farm and I would almost certainly be at that show

Where was this said?
I had heard that from several friends but I just looked and I see that Julian will be busy touring with the Voidz through the fall (which I should've remembered because I'm seeing them in October.) That means that there could b a strokes your come this spring/summer for the new album (complete speculation, no evidence to support) i apologize for trusting someone work on that btw, should've checked for myself
Is Flume really not that known there? He plays to massive crowds here, but admittedly my view is skewed because we're from the same hometown. I only recently learned Rüfüs aren't huge yet in the US?
And a Wayne Coyne psych superjam. Fuck. That needs to happen. Preferably wIth members of Black Angels, Tame Impala, and Temples... please and thank you.

I mean, Flume is big and his shows are awesome (though a bit short) but he isn't even close to being one of the the top tier electronic acts. If he plays Roo it is almost guaranteed to be a LN tent show.
And I'm not so sure that the Psych Superjam will happen this year, but Wayne Coyne definitely needs to come back soon and show em a superjam is done! Haha, Wayne is perfect to curate a SJ because he has done so much work with so many different artists and his career has been so long, not to mention he is the frontman for one of the greatest/most famous psych rock bands since the 60's/70's. I can honestly say that I think he is THE BEST choice to lead the 60's Psych Superjam (plus that title just sounds good rolling off the tongue!)
There are only a few Headliners that would keep me from camping out to get front row at that SJ and even then, I'd probably leave early depending on who all was involved.

Albert Hammond Jr said in an interview with NME back in May that the Strokes won't tour until they have a new record out. Which I'm hoping is some time in 2015, but who knows when they'll release it
People really overestimate the popularity of The Roots. They were 13th on the lineup in 2012 and have only gotten less relevant since then
I'd disagree that they're less relevant. If anything, Questlove's profile is larger than ever, between his book being a critical success, his ongoing collaborations with pretty much everyone alive, the Roots turning Late Night into a must-perform stop for pretty much every musician putting out new material, etc. But I do agree they're pretty much topped out, they'd be a top-15 act, likely pre-headline (or get a truly awesome late night slot, which I cannot believe hasn't happened yet) and that's about it.
Also, were some of you dummies REALLY having a serious debate about whether Iron Maiden would play a LN tent? Please tell me none of you are that stupid.

What percentage of Bonnaroo attendees do you think actually know how to read?

Really? That's your defense? The majority of Bonnaroo attendees are too stupid to read. If I could read your comment, I would be offended.

Let the hate begin.
2 things:
1) You have run the jewels closing both Thursday and Sunday. 2) Massive Attack vs the Superjam vs Moby/Fatboy Slim is one of the worst imaginary conflicts I've ever seen. I'd pick Moby/Fatboy Slim in a heart beat, but I'd hate everyone who talked about the other two events afterward.
People really overestimate the popularity of The Roots. They were 13th on the lineup in 2012 and have only gotten less relevant since then

I'll take responsibility for that one, I agree that they should be LN Which; however, I placed them in a tent in my imaginary scheduling because there was recently a debate on where/when they would play over in the Iron Maiden thread and it seemed like the end verdict was that most people believed they could play a tent if there were MAJOR conflicts, so I scheduled it just like that because I'm not an iron maiden buff, so I took all of those peoples' word for it, which I now realize was a mistake

Oh man, he's huge here. Not Skrillex or Deadmau5 huge yet, but already too big for nightclubs.
Superjams are all but impossible to guess, but it seems like they've found a winning formula with curated / themed superjams (Jim James & John Oates, Skrillex, ?uestlove, etc) - so a psychedelic superjam seems likely, and Wayne would be the obvious choice to curate it. It doesn't hurt that he has a strong working relationship with the festival, either.

You sure you're not thinking of Slayer? Seeing as how in the Slayer thread you said pretty much exactly what you're saying here?
I think they could be a very packed tent if they were up against a really big act on which, a decent act in the Other Tent and a solid superjam going on in That Tent.
You confused Iron Maiden and Slayer. Your brain doesn't work the way it's supposed to, I'm sorry to tell you.

I love this for the most part. Who knows if Outkast will tour next year, but it would be a nice get if Roo got them in year two of the comeback as a one off. Neil Young and Crazy Horse may be done for good, but I hope not, because I want to see them very badly. And I'd love to have MMJ as the three. If these were the headliners, you could count on a very thick middle of the lineup. And The Roots are on The Tonight Show Monday-Friday, which most certainly plays in to their popularity and thus, their billing. I like that you have Future Islands on there twice, too I'd prolly put Dolly in the Lionel Ritchie bill spot from this year, take Albert Hammond Jr. instead of The Strokes and throw Jon Spencer Blues Explosion in the middle, but that's just nitpicking. Great job.

Ah, thank you sir. I'm struggling to deal with this realization but the support of my loved ones has really been helping me through this hard time. As they say... Well I did have Beyoncé and Jay Z in there originally, but then I decided that was a bit too unrealistic... I didn't really consider how white my lineup was but I still think I could've done worse

I think it's the undercard that could use a little less whiteness, throw in Drake and Kendrick Lamar (and maybe method man/Redman or maybe Deltron 3030 or the Wailers) and it suddenly becomes more realistic, in terms of white/blackness.
Oh and I didn't even address the fact that you've no electronic acts, which we all know won't happen. So you're missing one really big act and a couple slightly smaller ones.

Well I wasn't making an attempt at a complete lineup. I have some EDM acts in mind but nothing I want bad enough to make my dream lineup. And since I only listed like 15 acts, I think Prince, Gary Clark Jr., and Benjamin Booker give me a realistic black/white ratio even if I left out all rap/hip-hop for the same reason as EDM (I'm kind of surprised I'm having this conversation...)

Haha, sorry, I realized what you were doing, I was really just attempting to fill in the blanks to justify your proposed lineup.
My Morning Jacket * Beck* Girl Talk or Bassnectar * Foster the People Interpol * Lana Del Rey * Diplo * Julian Casablancas & The Voidz * Alt-J Flying Lotus * Spoon * HAIM * Death From Above 1979 * Flume or Flosstradamus* Lykke Li Motorhead * Jagwar Ma * Future Islands * Bombay Bicycle Club * Grimes * The War on Drugs Parquet Courts * Bleachers * Run the Jewels * STRFKR * Mac DeMarco * Blood Orange Temples * Courtney Barnett* Hundred Waters * San Fermin * FKA Twigs
Another uneventful day, time to revise the guess list.
Foster, Lana and Julian will be a year late, as usual per Roo. Interpol, Spoon, DFA1979, Lykke and Alt J's new albums warrant a spot on the list. Basing the last three lines off of acts that have had well received albums that have come out lately and/or have been hitting a lot of summer and fall festivals. Motorhead is a shot in the dark for a heavier act, and I can't think of many rap acts. Don't think Roo would book Freddie Gibbs and Madlib, Run the Jewels fills the rap duo spot too nicely. Maybe Kid Cudi or Drake?

I could definitely get down to this, though I fear the crowd that might follow if you bring acts like Floss and Diplo.

Already had Major Lazer, Porter Robinson, Boys Noize, Kaskade, Skrillex, A-Trak on the farm, I don't think either of the two are that out of place.
