Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
And although I'm interested to see how I'm being hypocritical, I'm agreeing to disagree and drop the subject because I don't want to argue about it. Unlike most on the interwebz, I think online arguing is dumb and pointless.
Eh, I'll tell you anyway: You're entire persona around here seems to revolve around erotic conversation, sex talk, gang bangs, blah blah blah. Your signature has a joke about being "moist in it." If that's your thing, whatever, I don't care. But now you're turning around and criticizing an adult woman for talking about having consensual sex with her adult husband. Beyoncé has just as much right to "erotic conversation" as you.
Eh, I'll respond anyway. My persona around here is not entirely different from me in real life. I am very open sexually. (I'm also not serious about the gang bang aspect of many of those conversations, and I'm not the one who started it, and I'm actually rarely apart of those conversations, do I make comments about comments made in the conversation, yes. But I'm not sure if I've actually initiated gang bang conversation unless in the name of a joke. Please call me out if I'm wrong, I post drunk a lot, things slip my mind.) And yes, I spend a lot of my time in the single mingle thread, talking to people who I consider friends pre and post Bonnaroo, about things that we think are entertaining. However, I'm not a role model for anyone and quite frankly I don't need to watch what I say. Unless I do, in which case I'd hope that I would have received some sort of warning about my antics so that I could stop possibly offending anyone. Below quote is awesome, and I COMPLETELY support Beyonce making an album like this, and I know that that may have been what she was going for with this particular song too, but THE WAY THE LYRICS ARE PRESENTED doesn't sit well with me for some reason. Maybe it is the line "He want's to fuck," that did it. I also only read that verse, with no knowledge of the rest of the song. Reading them just as text that way probably has an effect on my perception of the song. Then actually listening to the song with that perception in mind already, the chorus of "Take all of me, I just wanna be the girl you like" also doesn't sound good. Maybe if I heard the song before reading the lyrics I'd think differently, who knows. I'm anything but a conservative fan, and I'm not offended at all. I just wish the lyrics had been presented differently so that she does come off as a female who is embracing her sexuality and not a sexual being there to please her husband. Also, just because they're married really makes that much of a difference to everyone? What if they weren't? Would you think differently about it?
Their going to be airing her concert footage each week before True Blood for the Mrs Carter Tour. I hope she discusses the lyrics. It seems to me like she wanted to make her newest album a feminist album that embraces sexuality as a normal part of human nature that doesn't necessarily have to be swept under the rug. She's had some criticism (Jennifer Hudson, in particular), but her songs do seem to reflect her and Jay-Z just from my casual listening ear. I think this is the first album where she seems to fully take in her own sexuality and have an open dialogue about having a healthy sex life. That's good in my eyes (and ears), but I can see how some could be offended if they are more conservative fans...
Also, just for the record, I'm glad Beyoncé and Jay Z have an active sex life. I think more married couples should go down on each other, I think it'd make everyone happier. Doesn't mean I'm going to sing about it.

I'm glad to hear it.
Congrats...
Why do folks always respond personally to statements not directed at them?

Wouldn't make a difference for me. Just mentioned it because if someone is on the more conservative side of things, I'd be surprised if marital relations are a taboo subject.
At the end of the day, Beyonce is an artist. Her main goal is not to be a role model to millions, but to create the music that she wants to create. If that music happens to resonate and inspire people, so be it, but it's not her job. I don't think she should be held to an imaginary standard of "class" or appropriateness. And it's pretty double-standardy for people to not blink at vulgar lyrics from male artists but get icked out when a woman takes some pride in her sexuality.

To be fair most of the debate around the lyrics were Monie .vs. a group of others so I can see why she'd take your post as another part of the discussion proving that it's not all about the guy making the girl do something.
Inforoo can turn a positive thing into shit in under a page. I'm pretty impressed with some of of the wrong ideas here.
I'm just glad that the Kanye/Jack White debates took a break for a little while. They'll be back though. At least this most recent chat was about lyrics and their content as opposed to "She's not welcome at Bonnaroo" lol

It was part of the discussion, not directed toward anyone. I just feel that people get worked up and take things very personally around here, and that causes of a lot of unnecessary butthurt.
So if Bey headlines, would she even play music? Or are her and Jay just going to bone on stage for 90 minutes and then wave goodbye?
Probably. Isn't that what happened when Jay-Z headlined?
But that was before their sexual renaissance! I'd be worried if i was going to their summer run. They might have to provide the first few rows with ponchos like a damn Gallagher show.

I'm curious if we ever hear about Jay being a good role model, setting a good example for the kids and shit. How about whether he's ashamed that maybe someday his kids are gonna read his lyrics and be horrified?
Yeah, that all seems pretty ridiculous. I don't think anyone would ever really think that about him or question his image as a father, strictly based upon his music.
As someone who has been married for 14 years, I just have one quick question for you guys. What is this sex you speak of? Oral sex, blow jobs - I am drawing a blank. I could have sworn Congress or the President or somebody made a law or something concerning married people & sex. They like to do that.
So thanks Obama.
FTR, I am so down with having Beyonce headline. The kids & I have been known to break out in the single ladies dance just for the hell of it.
