Your statement seems in opposition to the link you shared. I think Beyonce is a #1 or 2 (only under a super strong 1) at this point in her career.
I fully agree. Hence why we will not get Beyonce. She is to polar to devote a headliner spot for, and to big of an act to put anywhere else but on the What. If we ever do get Beyonce on the farm, I doubt it will be unopposed.

This years headliner was as polar as they come and he got unopposed What
I really, really am out of the loop for Fleetwood Mac being big enough to be headliners. Not saying they can't....just saying I didn't realize they were that big.
The original Rumours line up (most popular/acclaimed) is back after almost 20 years and it's a big deal. If Petty headlined Fleetwood Mac can easily.

Kanye is not polarizing in any other form then Bonnaroo due to the fiasco. Any stadium around the US, there will be a mixture of men and women of a rather broad age group. 2004 was college dropout, so there is a long catalog to choose from. Beyonce's long career ihas some hits to work with in the beginning I wouldnt mind listening to, but once she made it solo her catalog consist of girly feel good songs that I personally have no interest in hearing again. (I saw a Mrs. Carter Show)
Now give me what her and Jay are doing on this choreographed Bonnie and Clyde tour, I would give them #1 billing easily. (Yet on a Roo poster, most likely #2.)

Ehhhh. It might just be me, but I bet if you went on the street and asked 100 people to name as many Fleetwood Mac and Tom Petty songs as they could... You'd get more responses for Petty.

"As long as she's got a man there with her...."
Exactly. Because Bonnaroo dosnt have solo female headliners. Mission accomplished. Lock it up.
Or maybe because her solo set is so utterly female-pop radio that it will alienate 50% of the Bonnaroo crowd (even though id say more men are there in a given year) having her headline with a setlist of irrepressible, baby boy, Diva, If I were a boy, single ladies, halo. Especially forcing my hand to be there or waste a few hours of your Bonnaroo.

I would venture to say the average Bonnaroo attendee does not have the same absolute hatred of pop music that you seem to. I can respect that you don't like it, I don't like a lot of things either, but you have to understand that your feelings are in no way the prevailing feeling among others. Beyonce makes what is critically considered excellent music, regardless of if it is within the spectrum of pop or not.

Im not talking about the average attendee and pop or not respecting others desire to see hear. Im talking about all the dudes at Bonnaroo who cant stand sappy love songs for a few hours straight, and all the women who wouldnt camp in a muddy field to see Beyonce. I personally think it will be a marketing fail to book Beyonce as a headliner. Can I make a Beyonce setlist that I would love to hear/see live? Absolutely. Because in all respect to what she puts out, selling out shows everywhere, and just being on top of her game right now she is good. But as a means to pull people out of their comforts to a soggy, hot sweat pit of people as opposed to going 20 minutes to the nearest stadium/arena, I think she will fall flat of the marketing scheme which is Bonnaroo.

Around and around in this circle we go. Ive seen the video from the last time the argument was brought up. Last year? Year before? All blurs together. Glasto has more diversity then a Southern, American festival could ever dream of. Also, Glasto is the biggest festival in the UK which people wait all year round to go to regardless of whos playing. Hell, they have a few years waiting period. If I had to eait that long, Id damn sure find something in Beyonce's set to like. Sorry to say, but with a music festival popping up every 70 miles in the US, people arnt traveling as far as they used to for Bonnaroo. Give it a few years and Bonnaroo is going to be pressed even harder to deliver the Daft Punks and Legends etc. just to get people to travel from the coast.
Look at all those miserable people wallowing in the English mud
She is so fantastic.
I honestly hope if she headlines a US festival in 2015 that it's Coachella instead of Bonnaroo, I don't think I can take another year of spirited arguments over whether an artist should be there or not once they've already been booked.

Last year Bonnaroo was only 41% dudes. So I think that means they can book Beyonce?
