Ha. I got three men in my life, ranging in age from 73 (my kick ass Dad) to 36, who would all love to see Beyoncé. I think guys who just enjoy good music done with some originality and awesome showomanship appreciate stars like Bey, irrespective of her song's subject matter. My Dad dances his ass off to Single Ladies. My husband tries to cover Halo on his guitar. I don't thing what the songs are about matter much to a lot of dudes.
And, on top of that, I can't relate to a lot of things that guys sing about but that doesn't stop me from enjoying their music.
And, holy shit, Elton John has some of the sappiest songs on the planet if we're using that as a barometer for judging someone's appeal, the sappy scale, Elton, off the charts.
I fully agree. Hence why we will not get Beyonce. She is to polar to devote a headliner spot for, and to big of an act to put anywhere else but on the What. If we ever do get Beyonce on the farm, I doubt it will be unopposed.
This years headliner was as polar as they come and he got unopposed What

I was thinking of a beyonce setlist at Roo today and and now she is easily in my top five headliner wants for next year. Single Ladies, Baby Boy, Survivor, all those songs would be fucking electrifying on the farm, or anywhere for that matter.

I'm not a huge pop fan and can think of a dozen headliners I'd like to see more than Beyonce... But she's one of those artists I'd never pay to see alone so I'd probably go to her set just for the spectacle of it and to give her a chance to sway me. If it came down to Beyonce or the 164th edition of Widespread Panic or Dave Matthews, I'd take Beyonce.

Beyonce headlining would be so much fun. I don't see what all the back-and-forth is about. Women love her. Men love her. Hippies love her. College kids love her. My mom doesn't even speak English, and she loves her. Anyone that would actually not want to see Beyonce takes themselves way too seriously, and probably frequents the UltimateGuitar forums way too often.
Btw, Jaz, I'm totes joining you in that Single Ladies dance.

This was the Beyonce setlist I saw where she frequently addressed "the ladies". If anything, I was disappointed and felt alienated from The Mrs. Carter show. And once the most of the males in attendance realized Jay wasnt coming out to make it any better by the encore (of course he wouldnt come out during his wifes set), most turned restless and started talking.
I have no interest in seeing Beyonce at roo... however it would be PACKED. i mean PA fucking ACKED. and as a single guy, i'd be an idiot not to go watch all the girls watching her. doesn't mean i want her to headline though.
She would have to clock out too early, she works 9-5.
Ba-dum-bum
Eh, why did you come in here looking like that?
In the light of a clear blue morning, all she can do is take the cash on the barrel head.
Don't call it love.
I think my lame attempt at a joke was lost on some. I was in no way diminishing Dolly's repertoire to "9 to 5", rather suggesting that Ms. Parton does not work past 5pm.
