I dont think any female is going to headline Bonnaroo any time soon. Madonna would probably be the only one to get a legit headliner time slot. I think even she, along with Beyonce, Gaga..and really thats the end of the possible headliners in my mind.. would all get a slot similar to Jay-Z after Stevie Wonder
Beyonce is the biggest pop star in the world, saying she would do anything but headline is just silly.
Beyonce would be #1 on the poster, unless we get Prince.
You don't break a genre into the headlining slot at #1. That's why Jay was 4th.
I can see Prince - Phish - Beyonce, or even another current-ish rock act like Foo Fighters or Arcade Fire in there. Beyonce's big, but she's not a perfect fit. It's not an insult to put her in a Jay-Z or Lionel Richie spot.

"you don't break a genre", what does this mean? Beyonce, if she was on the bill, would be the biggest name on it, save for someone like Prince, like I said. It would most certainly be an insult to put your most expensive act as a pre- or post-headliner. Beyonce would be a headliner, unopposed, or she's not playing.

Like I said more than a couple times at this point, if we get a huge legacy act, like Prince/The Stones/The Who, or like Elton this year, she would be #2.

Why do you think she's outside of Bonnaroo's taste? She would make them a crap load of money, therefore, she's within their taste.

A friend of mine saw her in concert and said she was extraordinary live with high energy. He said her high heeled shoe got caught in the stairs as she was descending (causing a mild tumble) in Memphis and she got right back up and broke out into the dance she was singing for... wasn't even phased by it. She is definitely one of the best entertainers of the modern generation... and her newest album showcases how much talent she has...

Bonnaroo has changed quite a bit since I first attended in 2004. 2009 was a lot different and 2013 even more so, I honestly would not be surprised if it were to morph into a festival with pop headliners. I just don't know if enough Beyoncé fans are willing to do the farm for the duration. Maybe, I just don't know.
You guys know Christine McVie rejoined Fleetwood Mac right? Means 2/3 of the vocalists in that band are female again. And to be honest Fleetwood Mac is far more likely that Beyonce.

She just doesn't have enough widespread appeal. She had a very low number of adds on the Bonnaroo website prior to the festival compared to other performers in the upper levels of the lineup. I enjoyed her show, but attendance was pretty low. She is very talented, I must stress this though.
Florence + the Machine is working on a third album, so I think they would be our best hope for an act that really fits into Bonnaroo. Although I think she'll probably stay around her current level of popularity. I could be wrong though

They had previously booked him as a headliner in 2008 so I think that they felt that he was a more suitable fill in for Mumford. He definitely had established his Bonnaroo cred from his previous three or four appearances and was headlining sheds and arenas in the US. It also had the bonus of requiring the least amount of scheduling changes.
