Here is an updated list that I spent more than five minutes on. I expanded it to 30 and have been shaping it at work the last couple days. This was tons of fun, but it's so hard to be exact with it after my top 5 even.
2010 has ten, 2012 has six, 2013 has four, and ten for this year.
1. Radiohead ‘12 2. Weird Al ‘13 3. Paul McCartney ‘13 4. Tenacious D ‘10 5. Jack White ‘14 6. Phoenix ‘10 7. Phoenix ‘14 8. Darkside ‘14 9. Alice Cooper ‘12 10. The Black Keys ‘10 11. I find this the case with almost every headliner. I've seen Tool 6 times, Roo was my least favorite. Same for Radiohead, seen 5 times. McCartney, which was probably the best show ever at Roo but still wasn't near as good as the other time I saw him.
I don't know about that. I've seen Radiohead 6 times now and the 2012 show was my favorite time (probably because I was in the pit and with a bunch of close friends).
It has a lot to do where you are and the crowd around you. You don't get a bunch of people around you that don't give a fuck at a regular show (I hope). I'm easily taken out of my zone by having a bad spot, being too crowded and people around me that are doing everything except getting into the show. This happes a lot at Roo but it was a lot better this year because we surrounded ourselves with inforooers for most shows.

weird. i saw paul a month later at OSL and again a few weeks later in LA. both shows were not even close to as good as the Roo set. I do agree with you on Radiohead though. It was an amazing set, but there was a "going through the motions" type feel to it.
We saw him a couple years before in Piedmont Park in ATL. We were able to get a lot closer and I enjoyed the show a lot more.
1. Paul McCartney 2013: Waited ten hours to be front row for this - had I not it might not have made it this high on the list. 2. Neutral Milk Hotel 2014: Epitome of a Bonnaroo pre-headliner tent show. Also once in a lifetime chance to see this act. 3. Skrillex Superjam 2014: Only full Superjam I've watched, stellar lineup and covers. 4. Radiohead 2012: I've never had a concert go by so fast - also had amazing company for this set. 5. Flaming Lips 2010: Musically not the best, but this will always be my most vivid memory of my first Bonnaroo 6. St Vincent 2012: Bucket list show for me, held her up when she stage dove. 7. Chance The Rapper 2014: One of few rap acts that actually puts on a good live show, his band elevated his material to new levels. 8. James Blake 2014: Another bucket list act, so much more intense live. 9. Phoenix 2010: Great energy, crowd and set time. 10. Alt-J 2013: Best Thursday night act of any year that I've been. 11. Bassnectar 2010: This is the set that tuned me in to electronic music, so much fun. 12. Death Grips 2013: No explanation needed here 13. The Civil Wars 2012: One of those acts that brought a little bit extra for Bonnaroo - amazing performance. 14. Empire of the Sun 2013: Another great late night act.

It makes me so happy to see all the love for the HipHop SuperJam in here! It was completely disorganized chaos in the most rebelliously awesome way I've ever seen at a live show. Now THAT'S a SuperJam!
I will forego the opportunity to name my top 50 shows and instead name just one night -- Friday 2013. The best day in Roo history.

Seriously! After not being able to get real close for Wu Tang, I was kind of heart broken but decided it was my job to get rail at the hip hop SJ. My friends and I walked over to the This Tent with a few friends and once we grabbed our spot on the rail my friend told me I should try to catch Hey Jude if Paul hadn't already played it so I sprinted to the What field and as I rounded the corner and I could see the stage, Paul started playing it. I sang and danced with strangers til it was over and then ran back to my friends and got to be on the rail for what is the greatest rap show I will ever see (kinda sucks to know I peaked so early, haha.
My friends actually ended up leaving early to meet the rest of our crew at Pretty Lights but I said screw that cause Wu tang hadn't come out yet and I was still holding out hope, plus I wanted to see AnCo anyway. As you know, many Wu tang members ended up coming out and killed it AND Derek (pretty lights) was playing bass for part of the show so pretty lights started really late anyway because he had been playing bass at the show I was at! Damn, Friday night was amazing.
Going Wu Tang > Paul McCartney > Hip Hop Superjam > AnCo > Pretty Lights (til sunrise) will forever be the night of music that I try to beat
I haven't been to enough Bonnaroos to definitively say what I think are the best shows, but my favorites are Jay Z in 2010, the Disco Biscuits in 2010, and Jack White and Die Antwoord from last year. I will always regret not making it in 2013 for Paul.

I just scrolled through this thread because I was excited to see what I put down. Apparently I didn't post anything here (until now). So if someone could list my favorite shows, you'd be doing me a huge favor. I just don't have time right now.
Top shows of 2013 were undoubtedly Paul McCartney, Rock n Soul SJ, and Hip Hop SJ with most people also including Byrne/St. Vincent, Tame Impala, and Bjork (all in no specific order)

This would take forever to do but I am glad to see Damon Albarn on the top of so many peoples list. It's in my top 10ish (been to 7 roos). I am still to this day dumbfounded how empty that show was and mad at my GF for missing it.

How do you pick your favorite? For me it's not just about the concert but the whole vibe of people around you and the state of mind that you're in. I really don't know if I can say what my favorite show is. I can tell you shows that stand out or shows that more memorable than others. But even with some of my favorite bands I've had some performances that weren't as good as some unexpected ones. Some of my favorites are..... 1.The Dead Weather 2.Tool 3.The White Stripes 4.The Roots 5.Wolfmother 6.Pearl Jam 7.Metallica 8.Robert Plant 9.Robert Randolph 10.Mumford and Sons 11.Primus 12.Radiohead 13.Ice Cube 14.Jack White 15.Lionel Richie
