Oh shit. I wasn't paying attention to facebook and thought you were just wishlisting here. This is a great add for me. I loved the track that was on the NPR end of year list and have really enjoyed what else I have heard from them since.
A painter named Norman Wisdom is supposed to be part of Big Ears. I think he is suppose to do an interpretive painting while Kronos Quartet, Sam Amidon and Nels Cline play.
If you haven't seen him, it's actually a really interesting show. I can't think of anyone I have seen at a festival quite like it.
I loved his set at Bonnaroo last year. I think the crowd really makes his show. No idea how often he changed his set list up. I'll definitely be catching him at Big Ears if possible.
I just realized something that is pretty disappointing although possibly a good omen. YOB/Witch Mountain/Generation of Vipers are playing The Hideaway on March 27 here in Johnson City, TN. Now that I realize the 27th is the first day of Big Ears, obviously I can't see this show. However, it also means YOB is two hours from Knoxville on the first day of the festival..
What do you think guys? Could you see them getting added?

I've been dreaming for a bit. That's so heartbreaking and so awesome at the same time.

The same thing happened during Hopscotch this year with KEN mode. They were at The Hideaway the day after the played Hopscotch, I didn't see them at either..
#?BigEarsKnox friends and fans, we're excited to share a handful of new artists that'll be joining us at this year's festival! We've got a little something for everyone, from the kinetic dance melodies of Omar Souleyman and the mysterious composition collective of Bing & Ruth, to the captivating, evocative instrumentalist William Tyler, psychedelic folk rocker Ryley Walker, and pipa prodigy and longtime Kronos Quartet collaborator Wu Man. This isn't the end of the surprises, so be sure to stay tuned for all the latest on what's to come!
E: I suppose if you weren't following, these are solid adds.

I'm going to really enjoy the festival, but I'll admit it - I'm disappointed with this second round of announcements. I was hoping for a couple of more "NO WAY!" artists to be added to the bill.

I'm disappointed because they already "teased" (not so subtly) basically all of these additions.
I just kinda wish they did a ICYMI post instead of making it seem like a ton of new stuff. I like the teases but I hate that that's it when it drops. I feel like a kid that's already played with all his toys on Christmas day.
