It's sad. I just typed out a Widespread Panic joke three times before I just threw my hands up.
Last few names, I'm guessing.
Additions would be the easy guess, but it struck me that they said "festival news" rather than directly mentioning additions. Makes me think it has to do with venues, special programs, etc.
A 10 minute shuttle wouldn't be too bad. Gives me a few minutes to get my drank on and gear up for some Tune-Yards.
1. Some Tune-Yards or, if you decide to get wild, gear up for a band that doesn't suck. 2. The lady on the right has the best purse ever.
you can fuck off! have you seen them live?!
also. I'm strongly considering coming down to visit my knoxvillionaires this weekend..... I'm one drunk night away from drunk-purchasing a ticket & a flight.
Sometimes you don't need to actually experience something to know it's horrible. For example, I don't need to have sex with Phyre Fest to know that it would be the worst thing ever... aside from seeing Tune-Yards live.

So you're gonna purchase it tonight?
Edit: Holy shit. Phyllis's new name makes that sentence even better.

you're viciously adamant about your opinion. merrill is fucking phenomenal at looping and layering - it's incredible. and her back up dancers + singers at pitchfork this year were seriously mind blowing. don't be such a scrooge! but you're likely correct on your second opinion.
I have GRE this weekend. gurl has hardly touched booze in a couple of weeks. but maybe when I'm done - I am having a treat yo self night on saturday after I take the test.

I figured Loscil would be added, given that they are on tour with A Winged Victory... while not a surprise, I'm very, very happy he's been added. Never had the opportunity to see Silver Apples before, so that'll be great too. Especially excited that Tyondai Braxton is playing; though I'd be even happier if it was Battles...
Pretty happy with these adds. The last time I saw Tyondai was with Philip Glass a few years ago. Blown away by that duo. I read good things about HIVE and really looking forward to that. There is a decent video on Vimeo about why he did it.
Silver Apples always puts on a good show. Simeon is like the happiest dude alive and it shows when he plays.
I guess I'll see Little Annie before the festival too. I wasn't realizing she was opening those shows.

Care to take a stab at that, Dave?
The first things that come to mind that I know have been music related before are
Both of those make sense. I know Ironwood because of that Hello City fest but I've seen The International start popping up on tour dates for more electronic artists.
I'm hoping this is "in addition" to the venues they used last year.

This, along with the craft beer announcement yesterday, is pretty awesome.
"In ?#?Knoxville? and especially during ?#?BigEarsKnox?, we strongly encourage our community and visitors to cycle, which saves money while reducing your carbon footprint and impact on the environment. This year, we’re proud to offer a complimentary Bike Rental service to Big Ears patrons presented by MailChimp and powered by Tennessee Valley Bicycles. Available throughout the festival weekend, bikes can be rented at Krutch Park with bike racks provided at each of our venues. Fully trained staff will also be present to help with your bicycle fitting, repair, and safety needs, as well as provide biking maps and first-hand local riding information. Ride on!"
