I thought that the songs they played off Circuital sounded amazing at Hangout. They've really figured out how to extend those cuts. Victory Dance was most decent.
There is a twisting pain in my gut, seeing the gov ball setlist and review. Can't figure out MMJ atomic bomb hangup. Can't resolve!
Ugh I can't either. Was originally set on atomic bomb band, but MMJ announced dates and they are skipping over where I'd see them (houston) for some reason, and then the other night I got drunk and stayed up really late watching MMJ live videos and asking myself how I could miss that at Roo of all places
But ABB will be a ton of fun, less crowded, and I probably will never get another chance to see them.

This fest has way too many conflicts
My roo-mate and I have agreed to catch jacket in Dallas this fall, but I'm sure you've already seen how the ticket situation panned out. With that in mind, I wasn't going to atomic bomb strictly for David Byrne so that he won't be there isn't all that upsetting. I'm more upset by no official NBT slot honestly but I digress, this is not an easy choice. Last year I told her we had to make the flips show because she had never seen them, and while it was a vanilla choice at the time compared to what was available, we went pit and had an incredible experience. This year I feel like jacket is the same way, it would be her first experience hearing it live and we would get pit easily - could be that defining show of the weekend. Certainly going to be hopping along to get to Slayer afterward, regardless.

posted this already in the schedule thread, but here it is again:
Buddy ran into Tom and Bo at the Toronto festival yesterday. He was wearing his Bonnaroo shirt so they briefly discussed it.
They were pretty vague, but said two things: 1. they are trying to work some things in with guests, 2. show will feature new stuff heavily
As I said before, this information is pretty useless considering a monkey could predict both these things occurring, I shamed my friend for not being able to get any better details.

I met the guys at governor's ball and they were just as vague. Just a little "bonnaroo is always special for us" and Carl saying they're working on some surprises.

Guests making me think the NBT song or two may still happen but I'd be down for them bringing in someone unexpected, too. Maybe Brittany Howard shows up to sing a tune.
I would not enjoy MMJ wasting their set time with New Basement Tapes songs.
I was just saying this to bacon. I was arguing that I'd rather see NBT stuff during Mumford. However, I feel like MMJ as the backing band for some NBT is a much better quality show.
