I would not enjoy MMJ wasting their set time with New Basement Tapes songs.
Agreed but I have a feeling it would be one or two songs at the most.
I would prefer MMJ 2 hour set followed by a Basement Tapes medley with the others coming out for a few songs then a short break before Mumford headliner set.

I think that Taylor and maybe Marcus will come out with MMJ but I doubt they do more then one or two songs. And don't fear MMJ gave the NBT songs the full MMJ treatment in MX for OBH.
Guests making me think the NBT song or two may still happen but I'd be down for them bringing in someone unexpected, too. Maybe Brittany Howard shows up to sing a tune.
I'm hoping Amelia Meath comes out for that Bob Marley/Phone Went West jam they did at OBH

14 songs in an hour and a half. 12/14 songs were repeats from Gov Ball (it beats 4 u and like a river being unique).
They played 16 songs at Gov Ball in an hour 45 time slot.
So, if I were a betting man, I think we'll get a lot of overlap with these sets, plus about 2 more in that extra 15 minutes on their schedule time at roo.

Someone make a group/app/something that alerts everyone in it if there is any mmj surprises. I can't imagine waking up and hearing I missed something. Even though I know the odds are low.

Seems like most of the tracks I saw at hangout too. I thought MMJ usually played completely different sets from show to show? I hope they're not straying away from that

They are keeping sets similar only for festivals, which I can understand.

well, I know for a lot of the theater shows and stuff they were going to try to mix it up, especially when they do multi nights in a city. but I'm thinking they have a festival setlist, since they are a bit more constrained by time and the crowd will be mnore diverse than just the hardcore mmj fans. I am hoping for some them to switch it up a bit, since it's bonnaroo and they have 2 hours.
Yup. Go to a multi-night run in one city and you'll see a totally different show each night.
Which is why I'm holding out hope for an NYC/NY run in the next few months.
It is why I am going to see them on July 31st here in NOLA also. I am hoping for a different setlist, plus I have only seen them at festivals in the past.
Just an intense two hour set. They didn't waste a second of music as Jim only spoke two words the entire time. Easily my favorite set of the weekend and I was happy to meet up with some of you in the pit.

I am an ignorant fool.
Going into my 2nd Roo, I knew nothing about MMJ other than what I saw on American Dad. Heard a couple songs on Spotify, sounded decent but nothing special.
One thing burned into my brain from here is "never miss a MMJ set at Roo" and going in I had a friend who wanted to check it out so it was on the dance card for the evening.
Oh, my, goodness.
That was the highlight of the weekend. The center of the universe. The MOST BONNAROO THING I HAVE EVER SEEN!
Took a dive under the rainbow canopy thing for a while, got up to the sand pit area behind the main center sound booth. Sounded incredible, got to dance around with some of the most joyous people I've ever witnessed/been a part of.
This show has made me reconsider a lot of what I know and enjoy in music. AGAIIINNNNNNNNNNN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I got into my first pit after 7 years of Roo because I just never tried before. It was actually super easy and had a ton of dancing room. It was insane to think about how many people were behind us the whole show. Amazing set and the highlight of my weekend.

Did Jim show up anywhere else this weekend?
I saw him and the drummer at Shabazz Palaces. They were just watching and seemed to really enjoy it.
