Yes. I hated that conflict as well, plus Gary Clark, Jr. who i wanted to see but decided day of that Atomic Bomb was the best choice. Can't pass on one time only shows. Atomic Bomb was absolutely awesome.
First two shows have been fantastic. But Night 2 easily beats Night 1.
I requested "War Begun" "I Will Sing You Songs" and "Tropics" and got all 3 and all of them were phenomenal. I always forget that Touch Me Pt. 1 is a pretty cool song and Phone Went West is such a fucking powerhouse. "Wonderful" with Tim from Strand Of Oaks was great too.
Really happy that I caught "Circuital," "Xmas Curtain," and "In Its Infancy" last night. Not to mention their killer performance of "Dondante."
Getting to hear the New Basement Tapes stuff, and Jim and Carl's solo songs has been really nice too. Really happy with the setlists from both shows, but I'm still nervous about what I'll miss Friday.
Here's what I'm still hoping for on Saturday: Steam Engine Like a River Cobra It Beats 4 U Lay Low Run Thru Victory Dance Touch Me Pt. 2
Uh, you requested two songs frequently played and one song they play every so often. No surprises there you got them; it was a given they'd play those before you requested them. In fact, all of your wish list are gimmes.
Pretty jealous of everyone who saw night one. That's the type of set I wish they'd play more often.
It was more a matter of them playing them at the shows I was at. I've been following the setlists from the tour so I have a pretty good sense of what they'll be playing over the four nights, I just want to hear my favorites. I don't want to hope for deep cuts and then be disappointed. I appreciate the surprise with those. Like "You Wanna Freak Out" on Wednesday
That Beacon run was something special! Only took in the first two nights, but what an amazing two nights they were! And thankfully some fans graciously streamed the third and final nights for those at home! Hope to see these shows officially released at some point in 2016.
Highlights for me were:
I Love You All The Time -- is there a classier bunch of dudes than MMJ? Not only paying tribute with a moving moment of silence, but then OWNING the song!
Phone -- GOOD GOD! Best version I've seen, hands down. Never seen 'em add so many rockin' crescendos to the end of this song. Holy shit. Carl was going fuckin' nuts, I've never seen him be so rockingly violent with his axe.
State of the Art!!! Works sooooo well as a Jacket tune, hope this one sticks around. THE POWER'S GOIN OUT!
Picture of You -- the jam ending NEEDS to stick around, it turns a soft number into one of the most powerful jams in the MMJ canon.
The triple-headed power punch ending of night two -- who could not leave the Beacon absolutely BUZZING after the BEASTLY PUNCH of AEIOU-Anytime-Mahgeetah?!
IWBTWYD -- complete silence during a JJ acoustic tune = complete bliss. You could hear the texture of his guitar strings it was so quiet in there. Transcendent.
All the Basement Tapes tracks. Down on The Bottom is a personal favorite but Nothing To It and Quick Like A Flash EXPLODE live!
CARRIED AWAY!! Anytime Carl gets extra space to rock, WATCH OUT! Also, is there a better backup singer in the world than Jim James?!?
Just Because I Do!! Jim strummin' the chords leading up to the blast-off intro was the ultimate "buckle-up" moment.
TOUCH ME PT1 from night two -- Carl screaming I NEED A HUMAN RIGHT BY MY SIDE in my face while Jim prowled the stage like some sort of possessed cosmic wizard was INTENSE
TOUCH ME PT2->COBRA->RUN THRU from the final night. Only heard the audio from the latter but HOOOO MAMA I could feel the rock from 500 miles away.
I can't decide between 1 4 2 3 or 4 1 2 3. On paper 1, but I just had such a blast on night 4. Such a fabulous week which I am definitely still recovering from!
Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.

Only got to see nights 3 and 4 but as always what an amazing band, great energy in the crowd. Really its always a treat to see them live, and the beacon was just such a wonderful experience.

Been reading negative reviews. Thought I would share a few.
1 / 5 Stars Holding on to NO Metal Williamsburg Park - Brooklyn, NY - Sun, Aug 19, 2012 Posted 08/21/2012by popeal This Fan's Reviews Dear My Morning Jacket, When I pull up a Youtube video of "Holding on to Black Metal" I see a horn section. I go to your concert packed with thousands of people, so there should be the money to pay your horn section, but... NO HORN SECTION! I left the concert before it was over and heard a pathetic rendition of your crowd drawing hit song from my parked car. You're a decent band, but I was pretty disappointed. I suppose it would have been tough to hire a chorus to sing the chorus too, but I was secretly hoping you would spare no expense for the sake of your art. While I'm ranting, may I just say that Williamsburg Park is not a Park and is pure concrete. You can't see the water or trees. You can see ONE tree that is outside the park. Concrete profit machine. 1 / 5 My Morning Jacket wasted my night STAGE AE - Pittsburgh, PA - Wed, Aug 10, 2011Posted 08/15/2011by youngenough This Fan's Reviews My Morning Jacket was the biggest waste of ticket money I have spent in over 20 years of concert-going. If you like NOISE and nothing else, maybe they are for you. Wish I could rate them as less than 1 star. Favorite moment: The best part of the show was when they left the stage and I did not have to hear another attempt of theirs to make music. Opening act(s): Neko Case was just fine. Sounded great. But showed almost no personality. 0 of 1 found this review helpful.
2 / 5 Really??? The Masonic - San Francisco, CA - 10/16/2015Posted 10/17/2015by dreamfkd This Fan's Reviews What happened...we were at The Masonic last night and the concert was weird. We couldnt understand any of the words and the group kept flashing Mosonic symbols??? Has the group changed? Plus the ushers were watching over people like children: no drinks on banister, no elevator, and seat stilling like crazy. We wish there could be a refund! The music sounded nothing like the albums!!!!! Phone stolen too. Favorite moment: Great lighting! Was this review helpful to you?Yes|No(Report as inappropriate)
2 / 5 Mellow set, 4 1/2 hours long Red Rocks Amphitheatre - Morrison, CO - Sat, Aug 4, 2012Posted 08/06/2012by colv This Fan's Reviews This was my 3rd MMJ show. Before the show, people were talking about their set from the previous night's show and how it was energetic and a great mix BUT they were not going to play any of the same songs twice. This is crappy for people who don't go to both shows two nights in a row. We love this band, but found ourselves surrounded by couples making out the whole time bc the music was so slow. My husband and I were there with a group of 16 friends. We were all disappointed in the set, the energy, and the fact that we thought the show was over 5 or 6 different times. For such an amazing band, we're hoping it was just an off night and the unnecessary pressure they put on themselves swearing not to repeat any songs on Sat night. Plus, with an opening act like Trombone Shorty, this show could have been explosive. But they only brought him out briefly - for a COVER SONG. Not a good call. Favorite moment: Trombone Shorty, Band of Horses "Funeral" Opening act(s): Trombone Shorty, Band of Horses
haha classic reviews of non mmj fans, i love how the last review is of a 3rd time returnee complaining about a 4 and a half hour show. Who complains about a show from MMJ thats that long? I wish to see MMJ play for that long, longest Ive ever seen was 2 and a half hours. And they also had Trombone Shorty join them on stage, hahaha that wouldve been amazing

Love the guy complaining about the lack of a horn section and a choir that they'd use on one song. He just had such an intense belief that he was ripped off

Found 2 more good ones.
1 / 5 My Morning Jacket The Pageant - St Louis, MO - Tue, Aug 2, 2011 Posted 08/05/2011by nebo35 This Fan's Reviews We waited over 45 minutes between bands. Ridiculous. Good guitar but too much yodeling.
2 / 5 DUUUUDE, BRROOOOO Williamsburg Park - Brooklyn, NY - Sun, Aug 19, 2012Posted 08/21/2012by FromBrooklyn This Fan's Reviews First of all, Shabazz Palaces and My Morning Jacket were great. Most of the crowd seemed to have never heard of Shabazz Palaces so their reception was pretty lukewarm. The venue is great though, easy access to entrances, exits, food, beer/drinks. Inexplicably, they had a Paul Mitchell and a Lacoste booth. So anyway, the entire place became swarmed with double-fist-beer drinking fratboys as the night went along. Not sure when MMJ became popular with "bros" but it was a far cry from the days of yore when a show like this in Williamsburg would have been attended by mostly people that didn't seem like they were out to start fights and elbow you in the face with their monkey-dancing. MMJ's set was great, including a Prince Cover, and Dean Wareham(!!!!!!!) even joined them onstage for a George Harrison cover! The bro contingent did not even react to this. Favorite moment: When a guy wearing a backwards baseball cap bumped into, and didn't apologize to one of the guys from Shabazz Palaces when he came out to watch. Opening act(s): Shabazz Palaces Reviewer Images: User submitted photo
