ive heard odesza from multiple people now, seems pretty confirmed. What do yall think about run the jewels, isaiah rashad, mr carmack, keys n krates? i commented on that "whatchu want" fb post by buku with those four (plus flatbush zombies but theyre in europe during buku) and buku liked my comment but none others... not sure what that means
Mrs Paul's would be proud. I am indifferent to Kanye but I really don't care if I ever see him or not. Let Big G remix get em high and I'd be perfectly happy. If they were going recent big, Wayne would be cool if he's willing to ditch that Packers jersey.
Maybe this was posted due to the DIO cover tribute album. Tenacious d is nominated for a Grammy for their work on it. I'd shit a brick if their playing buku this year!
On their Twitter Account, they have a white horse in a window in an upper floor of a building looking out the window, with the caption, "SOON." Deftones White Pony? Doubtful, but I'm hopeful to catch them somewhere this year.

Oh Em Gee that would be an amazing, but you are right I doubt that they would get Deftones, I think that is a bit heavy for Buku. I think that TV on the Radio is a strong candidate though... but I am ready for the lineup drop and I hate that festivals here in NOLA are notorious for saying to their team one date and then it not happening. Voodoo has done this as well for the 2013 lineup.
Agreed Vieux. Just come on out with the lineup. We're in that window for the first drop, and you'd think they would do it at some point in the morning to generate excitement and interest.
I haven't seen TV on the Radio, so that would be a nice surprise. Then there is the likelihood of whatever crossover there is from Aura (thinking Break Science Live Band and Papadosio) and the usual crossover of side jam/electonric bands that only a few people go to but that I'd most like to see (Dopapod, Kung Fu, etc.). I wish they'd just give me something, but IDK.

Weezy been rockin' a Packers jersey? dafuck? That guy needs his head checked.
Definitely wouldn't want him cheesedickin' it up any fest I was at in 2015. His Voodoo set in 2008 was bad enough. 30 minutes late (a given) and singing songs like "Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood". lolololol
Longinus and some other friends were up close posted up for Mars Volta. I had to gtfo there because of the terrible crowd. It worked out great because I was right up from for Thievery Corporation on the other stage, who I had never heard before. Volta obv kicked ass.
Oh god. That Lil Wayne show is still the worst show that I have ever endured to be close for something else. You couldn't even move without getting bumped in the face with a flatbill hat. It might have been even worse than sitting through Bush in 2001 to be close for Tool and then getting squished to death when the crowd surged just before Tool went on. Thought I was going to get Roskilde'd that day.

Spoke too soon haha.
Well my guess (without looking up for conflicts):
Kaskade Skrillex WuTang Sia Big Gigantic RL Grime Chance the Rapper ASAP ferg Dillon Francis Oliver Heldens Major Lazer Porter Robinson Bassnectar
Don't feel like taking a stab at ballroom/back alley types but hopefully they keep doing a good job of splitting up the untz crowd from the sgt blotter crowd

Out of that list, I think maybe Porter would be the most likely DJ/EDM act in the mix unless they bring back Big G. Certainly Wu Tang would fit in perfectly. Local shows with those noted: Porter last played Buku in 2012. Kaskade played Buku last year; Big G played in 2013, Voodoo in 2013, a Jazzfest night show in 2014 and at Mad Decent Block Party this past August; RL Grime is playing in the next few weeks, and he played back-to-back with Bauuer last year and did a Clockwork set both at Buku. A$AP Ferg did Mad Decent (surprsingly entertaining) as did Dillon Francis. Major Lazer persona was last in for Voodoo 2011 or 2012 I think and might have done the first Buku, as Diplo did. Bassnectar did Voodoo 2013, and he's big here, so certainly he will be a possibility. Skrillex just played Voodoo 5 weeks ago and did the first Buku in 2012. Sia and Oliver Heldens are still out there.
Haha, the Sgt. Blotter crowd will be on the SS Buku getting free drinks. If they bring remotely the level of "bands" they had last year, I'd be ecstatic. Lotus, Flips, Explosions, Beats, etc. were all money. Big rappers have their place their too, but I'm hoping for less juvenile stuff like Cudi, Earl or Tyler in favor of more real(er) shit like they brought with Public Enemy, Nas, Bone Thugs, Juvenile etc. Wu Tang as a rap headliner would be cool. Cypress Hill would work as well in the legacy rap vein. Still thinking we'll get 1 of 3 from Aura which will most likely be Break Science or Live Band Break Science. 2nd most likely will be Papdosio doing a late ballroom set or the Explosions set from last year. I don't see Disco Biscuits fitting in as well, but I'd be all over the chance to see them.
I hope they do a good job of mixing it up, but I feel there are just so many shows and festivals featuring EDM it's hard not to get repeats.
Does anyone think we will get a type of "rock" band that hasn't previously come or will it be in the same vibe that Esteban just listed?
We had Primus 3D in 2013 on the main stage which was awesome despite crowd douche issues others had and Flaming Lips last year. So I think they will bring in something random along those lines for a big, outside show. They seem to like indie-experimental (Beats, STS9 two sets 2013, Lotus, Lettuce, Explosions in the Sky) for lack of a better category name for some of the rock-jam-livetronica acts. And they brought Alt-J, Sleigh Bells, Phantogram, Japandroids and Pasion Pit , so they aren't afraid of indie stuff. I just don't know what else is out there for March besides TV on the Radio. And I agree about there being likely repeats

Someone I know suggested that they would have Alt-J this year, regardless of their Civic Theatre show... When did they have Alt-J in the past? I have been to all and I didn't see them on the lineup in the past.
Right. They were having sound problems, were inside in Ballroom I think. We waited about 25 minutes, but they still didn't have it resolved so we moved onto something else unfortunately. I would like to see them in person so I can form an opinion since I'm on the fence.
I only went the day Lettuce & Primus played so I missed them. I did see them at Roo last year, but it was in the back of the most over-packed tent of the weekend. I still really enjoyed it though. I couldn't make it to their nola show monday night, but a couple of friends said they were awesome.

Oh that's right! We were by some Fricking frat boys who wouldn't shut the Quack up! I was so annoyed because they were over 30 minutes late... but I will say the fricking rocked it. They played all the songs I wanted to hear, which was only 5 or 6, and they were amazing. I went to the show at HOB because they so deserved more time. That is why I forgot... and drugs.
EDIT: it didn't like my verbiage, I had to edit it but the gist is still there.
