My best friend said yesterday that if she doesn't get accepted to volunteer for clean vibes, she won't go. I have to see which of my other friends are going, but I think a Michigan caravan would be awesome. If we all met up outside of Detroit (Ann Arbor?) then we all head down together, it would be an awesome experiance. What do you guys think?
ive talked to people at clean vibes about position availability and they said there are always positions. i mean think of the amount of sh!t 100,000 people wil lcreate. anyways, if she send in her app soon then she shoudl get accepted.

Am residing in White Lake and am trying to convince the wife to go to this thing. I've never been myself but something is drawing me to this place. Having the White Stripes playing is a selling point but she is awfully reluctant to spend most of a week crammed together with a few dozen... err, several hundred thousand others.
She said she would do VIP but that means scrounging up that kind of cash. I'm trying to win tix anyway possible, starting off with the design contest. www.bonnaroo.com/2007-bonnaroo-design-contest
I guess I can keep my fingers crossed and hope that I get picked or get a tax refund.
anybody hitting hash bash in ann arbor? its april 7th. for those who havent been its not much. but its fun. and if the weather is nice it can be lots of fun. there is a street fair with people selling stuff and some live shows. again nothing big. and then most venues in ann arbor have hash bash parties at night. its a good time.

It used to be something. When I went to UM, I think I was able to enjoy the dying throes of this haphazard event.
ya thats true. no smokin in the diag. or anywhere on campus. but your fine in town. and they moved the street fair off of campus. because of the crackdown and the fact that campus banned street vending of paraphanila. its definitely not what it used to be. but its still fun. theres always a couple drum circles going. its just tradition for me, i havent missed one in 12 years so im not gonna start missing them now. but i certainly wouldnt drive any huge distance to go. but if your close its a good way to spend the day.
Ok I'm not from MI but I am crossing the border from Canada at Sarnia into Michigan. How long a drive is it to Roo from that border crossing? And what is the best/fastest route to take for that crossing?

I'm so excited!!
Sarnia is right across from Port Huron which is closest to I-94, I believe. Head south on that interstate.
From Port Huron, I would estimate 10 hours to Manchester.
Connect to I-75 (Fisher Fwy) in Detroit and ride that down into Kentucky. From there, you can figure it out.
94 goes east west. although it does go south right there for a minute i beleive its still called 94 west though. either south or west though. but ya you would take that to 75. then its 75 south all the way to tennesee. there are a few ways to go once your in tn. we go 75 to 24 west. and then get into roo at the temporary exit #112 on 24 west. it might take a little out of the way but its easy and its worked for us.
oh my bad you will actually save about an hour if you get ont 23 south near flint. it takes you directly to toledo and meets back up with 75 south. it takes like an hour off the trip because iot dosent swing through detroit. definitely go 23. its a regular 70 mph highway the whole way.

You guys and gals rock here. I'm such a freak because I've never been to the States at all except flying into Miami in October to go on a cruise. I'll definitely check out the 23 thing.

Thanx for the tip!!
That's funny (odd). I've lived in Michigan for seventeen years and have never been to Canada. That's also odd considering that with all the hockey I watch, I know the Canadian national anthem better than the States.

I go every year but I agree its not quite the same, but still fun...Anyone here go to Rock n' Reggae Fest up in Oil City,MI (near Central)? I have gone every year the last 4 years and its a great time, plus its on an indian reservation so everything is perfectly legal up there (April 28th).

I live in Port Huron (PoHo for short), and it took us thirteen hours to get to Manchester (minus cop stopping time and getting lost time), so it's not a bad drive. Take I-94 as soon as you get off the bridge then follow to I-75. I know I am going for sure, but my best friend is still up in the air about it, so if I need a ride, and you'll be crossing in the town where I live do you think we could work something out later if need be?
My mom works at the Blue Water Bridge for US Customs, so I can teach you a couple tricks to minimize hassle at the border!

Soulmate, if you take I-94 off the bridge, you can hop onto I-69 about 8 miles after the bridge. The exit will say Flint with an arrow, follow I-69 until Flint. Get off of I-69 in Flint at the I-75/ US 23 sign, DO NOT FOLLOW 75! You will only wind up backtracking all the way east. Follow 23 until after Toledo, Ohio and catch 75 south. They're right about skipping Detroit, it's a f**king hassle all day long there. It's a tragically beautiful city, but save the time and money and take 23 south.
Gonna date myself here but I went to a hash bash in 1979. used to be held on april fools day . We skipped school in Pinckney and went out. Smoke on the Diag Oh Yeah.

I was there. Graduated from hartland in 1979. You bring back lots of smokey memories. ...........we should meet up at Roo......fun to talk to fellow bashers from the old stomping grounds.....
I'm from Sterling Heights, driving down with a couple of buddies. This will be all of ours first time at 'roo. Any tips for driving down there? Whens the best time to leave home?

March 26th release date here in Kalamazoo..so get ready for its distribution near you...I feel like a Bell's salesperson or something (and wish I was)
I wasn't aware that it was released so early. Thanks for lookin' out =)Now I need to find a way to bring Oberon to Roo.
Yeah I went to Bells yesterday at 11am for its opening and it was glorious, its officially spring now...and I was thinking of getting a mini keg of Oberon to bring down with me, cuz that would fly with them, might be expensive but worth it indeed...

Murph--- Last year we left at 9:30PM and made it into Manchester by 9:30AM. If you go get directions to Manchester through Google maps, you're solid. Those are the directions we used. I do have one tip. The last e-way you jump on will be I-24 E. While you can exit off I-24 and get into Roo through Bushy Branch Road, I suggest you jump off I-24 turn around and jump back onto I-24 W. My first year, we went in through BBR and we were in line for 5 hours plus we were camped way way WAAAAY out in BFE. Last year, we turned around and jumped back on I-24 W. to go through that entrance and we waited in line for 45 minutes plus we were camped right infront of Centeroo. So yeah, use the entrance off the expressway, you'll see the cars lined up.If you've got any questions or anything, my AIM name is in my profile. Feel free to hit me up; this'll be my 3rd Bonnaroo so I may be able to offer up more advice.
LizardKing- That would be pretty killer to have a mini keg of Oberon at Roo. I would be scared that they'd find and confiscate it in the search at the front gate though. That would suck.
