Letterman is busy actually. They're just giving 30 extra minutes to brush teeth, take out contacts, and have a glass of water before The Decemberists put you all to sleep.

So I was getting everything squared away yesterday for my trip and realized that I somehow never booked a hotel room for the festival! (I'm out of town 2/3s of the weekends this summer and just thought it was one of the weekends that I had already booked a while back). That being said, anyone have any suggestions of what area would be the best to be looking for a decent place to get a room this late in the game? I'm not a big drinker so having to drive a little longer isn't a concern of mine.
On a more positive note, it appears I may not be coming to the festival alone after all!

Dammit! The conflicts!
Tallest Man vs I&W&BB vs Strand: Aaaaaah this really sucks. I'll probably do first half of SoO then I&W&BB. I'm seeing TMOE later this year anyways.
Sturgill vs Sufjanvs Jose: Another real bad one. First half of Sturg then Sufjan I suppose. That new Sufjan album is way too good to pass up on.
Rodrigo vs Nightsweats vs Lord Huron: GOD DAMN. STOP WITH THIS MADNESS! First tiny bit of Rodrigo, all of Nathaniel, then the last bunch of Huron I guess. I've been watching a lot of videos of Nathaniel Rateliff with the Nightsweats and it seems like a real fun show!
Hozier vs Shakey Graves vs J Mascis: I've seen Hozier and Shakey both a million times (yes, I've counted) over the last year, so I should go see J, but I don't really know his music too well. Probably most of Hozier (he always does my favourite songs towards the beginning of his set), some J, then a bit of Shakey perhaps.
The conflicts may be minimal this year, but they sure do sting!
And yeah, MMJ seems likely for that Friday spot!! Either that or it's David Gilmour and Nick Mason. Yeah, that's gotta be it... It's worth noting that the Saturday unannounced set still needs a 20 minute set up time. Looks like all the other bands get 25 minute set up. Not sure if that could be an indication of anything.

The fact that there's no gap in the schedule is a big clue IMO.
It could also be that NFF couldn't announce MMJ because MMJ knew they'd be announcing these Boston/NYC dates this week and didn't want to hurt those sales.
As was said, whoever is playing that spot pretty much HAS to be Roger's backing band, and if it's not something big, why keep it a secret? Given that MMJ have a deep history with Newport, have played with Roger, and are available that day, it looks pretty likely to me.
