Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
Hey All, longtime lurker - 2nd time to the fest. NFF quickly went on par if not surpassed Roo as my ultimate non-professional musical experience thus far -I'm looking to come every year!
I have heard a rumor with some of my colleagues (I'm am music teacher, but I went to school with a ton of arts management folks) that were in Chicago for the last Grateful Dead show that there will be a Dead presence at NFF. I'm thinking one or more members will be part of the '65 Revisited set if that holds true, but who know, maybe we'll see some kind of superjam type set in that unannounced Saturday slot.
To the person asking about camelbaks, I brought mine in last year. It depended who I approached. When boss man wasn't around it was a simple sniff check or a wink and go, but they did make me dump it once. I'm just going with some sealed bottles this year I think.
Counting down the hours - see some of ya'll at the Watkin's Family pre-show!
My Dad was almost mad Bobby didn't do any Dylan at FTW. I wouldn't expect it, but Bobby showing up for '65 would make sense
Last night as we were packing, I told Brad I wasn't going to take my camelbak bladder with me. He said "Don't you need it for water during the day?" I laughed and laughed and laughed.
Beer is pretty liquidy and vodka looks like water. #goodenough when the days are so short
Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.
I have an extra Friday ticket for sale, and an extra Saturday night heartbreaker for sale. This is not just sales hype, but the heartbreaker show last year was the highlight of my weekend

Kinda surprised they haven't released the schedule for the Wildwood stage tomorrow. That's 8 artists who aren't playing anywhere else. I tweeted at them about it, but never heard back.

Agreed! KDHarvey posted on Instagram that her hometown friends, a band called Ghost of Paul Revere, will be playing Friday afternoon.
EDIT: Their set time is 1:35, so they're actually part of Converse Rubber Tracks. Lied.

Ghost of Paul Revere is one of the converse rubbertrack bands. I don't remember where I saw it but I don't know if they will be releasing a Wildwood schedule as they stated it would be short 15-20 minute performances and they would be right after one another as more of a music discovery showcase. Could be wrong but saw that somewhere.
Also happened to notice on pollstar that Leon Bridges is also listed on Sunday. That's not listed anywhere else so it's possible he's coming back for 65 revisited. I have to say after giving him a listen this week it's one of my most anticipated sets for tomorrow besides MMJ/Waters

Which is nice and all, but people who are already fans of someone there should be able to see them too! John Moreland is one of the guys I want to see most all weekend, but with so much else happening I certainly can't just sit at Wildwood all afternoon. I'll tweet at him and report back if he responds...
Very interesting especially this "Sweet told RS last year that his dream is to have festivalgoers learn the lineup only after they arrive. He's getting there; Waters' set is one mystery this year, as he won't be backed by his normal touring band, but a crew of special guests. "He put together a band of a couple of [his favorite] artists, which is fantastic. And I’m obviously pretty excited,” says Sweet."
Could be reading into it too much but that makes it seem like there could be some artists beyond MMJ as his backing band

Also of note from the RS article:
And then there's the Sunday night headline slot, simply called '65 Revisited, a guest-packed tribute to the 50th anniversary of Dylan's famous electric set. No performers have been announced for this yet either, though Sweet stresses that Dylan will not be one of them. "I'm telling you: he's not coming," Sweet says. “I put a call out very early on to his team 16, 17 months ago. 'Hey, what's the deal? Are we doing this? He's obviously invited.' And they said no." Sweet has had friends speculate that Bruce Springsteen, U2 and Paul Simon could be part of the celebration (they won't). "We can't wow anyone with an offer. It has to be out of respect for the institution," he says. "The best way we could represent it would be to bring the younger generation and have them interpret what happened in their own respects. The whole Dylan thing is 'Don't look back.'"
I would say Jeff Beck NicK Mason and Eddie Vedder for Rogers set
I'm sticking with MMJ. They have a full hour before Roger comes out. They have to play something in that time.
I'm starting to think it won't be the full MMJ tho. They've got five guys in the band, so if they all backed him it'd already be a six-piece with Roger. And Jay said Roger picked a couple different artists, which means there'd be other people too. That'd be a pretty massive lineup, and redundant (unless the others were a horn section or something).
I think maybe some partial group of MMJ folks (or even just Jim) and some other people.

"Roger picked a couple of different artists" could mean he picked Jim James, Carl Broemel, Bo Koster, Patrick Hallahan, and Tom Blankenship.
Really, you have to imagine that it's a band that is comfortable playing together. I'm not expecting it to be a Bonnaroo superjam with limited rehearsal time to learn the songs. I feel like MMJ makes sense because they've done it before AND they probably are more comfortable taking on a few of the songs that Roger will be playing. It'd be much more difficult for a band with little chemistry and experience playing together to come up with a unique hour-long opening set before Roger comes out and then play all the songs Roger wants to play.
We could get a guest or two or three. But I think that the quote shouldn't be taken as gospel. I feel like it's My Morning Jacket complete. Otherwise what would they play for an hour?
Just throwing it out there for anyone considering a last minute trip tomorrow. Fridays tickets as low as 58 on stubhub and good chance they get cheaper tomorrow morning.
