i guess its that time of the year when i express my confusion over the unbridled adoration everyone has for moon taxi. i saw them open for umphrey's a couple years ago and it was just standard guitar driven jamband rock stuff. if anyone has a youtube link or something that proves me wrong please provide it.
Their after-show at Forecastle was awesome.
They wouldn't be a must-see for myself because I have seen them twice...but if there wasn't anything else going on in my interest then I would see them again.

I guess they are just standard guitar driven jamband rock stuff. But I've seen them live at Roo and once in NYC and I felt like they really take it to another level in-person. Their Albums can listen somewhat bland IMHO.

I have seen Moon Taxi twice in the last few months. The first at the Bristol Rhythm and Roots Festival, the second time locally at the Filmore Silver Spring. Both times I thought they did a great job.
Do you guys make anything of this rumor/article? I don't see it happening but it would be really great!
I mean this would be awesome, but they would have to be Top 4 right? Unless they are by some chance getting a Phoenix top spot. Phoenix headlined Lolla and Chella, but at Roo got a which pre headlining spot. Could Killers follow suit? Man if they nabbed Killers and they were in the Top 10, it would be tough to complain about the potential Top 10.

I'd think there's about a 0% chance of The Killers being on a lineup and not headlining. Especially with the legendary ego of one Brandon Flowers.
1.Elton John 2.Kanye West 3.Jack White 4.Lionel Richie 5.Vampire Weekend 6.The Avett Brothers 7.Phoenix 8.Skrillex 9.Arctic Monkeys 10.Frank Ocean
So 2015 could possibly look like this 1.Billy Joel 2.Mumford and Sons 3.Kendrick Lamar 4.Hall and Oates 5.Florence and the Machine 6.My Morning Jacket 7.The Killers 8.Deadmau5 9.The Decemberists 10.D'Angelo

Also think about it, Arctic Monkeys headlined Glastonbury and Lolla: they show up just inside the top ten at Roo.
Phoenix headlined a bunch of fests, they got a pre headlining set at Roo.
So are the Killers bigger than Monkeys or Phoenix? All three have played the garden, all have had success on the radio, all have a popular fan base. I like their chances of playing a set on Which.

Deadmau5 is 4. That's confirmed.
As for The Killers, yes they are bigger than Phoenix and Arctic Monkeys. That seems pretty obvious to me and I haven't been a fan since Sam's Town

Saw them at Rhythm and Roots and they really sounded great. Aas a side note if you've never been to Rhythm and Roots in Bristol,TN then you should check it out. Always a great time and a lot of talent in one place.

Ugh. I really should made that happen last year even if it was just for a day. It's happening this year, damn it.

They're much bigger than Phoenix and bigger than Arctic Monkeys, in America anyway. I can't picture them being outside the top 4, even at Bonnaroo. Maaaaaybe 5th if they saved a lot of money booking Kendrick in the headlining slot.

Blah.
If The Decemberists are on the bill, I think they easily fall outside the top 10 (they're billed 12th at Gov Ball). And I'm not so sure Robert Plant will be that high either. Plant was billed 9th when he played with Band of Joy in 2011. I think we're missing at least one act (and maybe two) from the top 10.
Do we know for a fact that MMJ and Florence both round out the top 6? I'm holding out hope there's a big name or two in the top 6-8 that will surprise us.
I can't see Robert Plant being billed higher than 9th since that's where he was in 2011.
I would probably add Alt J, 21 Pilots, and STS9 since seeduckswim gave us the headliners weeks ago.
good eye. Damn. We had them all along, but our ignorance on new posters blinded us from the truth.
Alt-J is still up in the air, but planes move pretty fast these days, so I'm holding out hope they'll be there. The one killing me is Modest Mouse. That one is a crap shoot leaning more towards them being there. I posted this in the Headliner thread, but what I have on Modest Mouse is this, "Never heard of Bleachers so I wouldn't recall seeing them. I want to say Modest Mouse was on there".
