Is TVoTR good live? I love their music but haven't been impressed with the youtube videos I've seen
Honestly, they're one of those bands that takes it to another level live, or at least they used to be. I saw them in 2007 and 2009 and both times were revelations.
It is possible they've gotten shitty since then, though.

I feel like they are hit or miss. A few years ago I saw them at the Afropunk festival and it was amazing. Last year I saw them at Gov Ball and they seemed like all the energy had been zapped out of them and they were just running through the motions.

Some of their songs are way heavier and more epic live, like Young Liars or Wolf Like Me. Saw them in Boston in November and they were amazing, but it was a purposely smaller venue than usual for them so I'm not sure if the crowd's energy (nearly all die hard fans) made that show better or if they'd be different at a festival.
If they are at Roo they are one of my must-sees, regardless.

It's possible the videos are just crappy quality
I have seen them four times live and every time is better. They take their music to another level when performing. Those videos are just crappy.

I like how the confirmation thread became the "I would like to see (insert coachella band here)" thread
Pretty much every thread is the "I would like to see [insert Coachella band here]" thread. Yet it's curiously paired with "bahahah Coachella haz drake lol mainstream custie bullshit lol," so I don't know what to think.
Please no Gambino. His first Roo show was great but the last one (in the daytime) was terrible. I'd much rather a rapper who hasn't been on the farm like Freddie Gibbs or Joey Badass.

I've been saying Joey needs to play since 2012, I feel like this is the most logical year since he has an album out at the end of this month
