I may follow through with quitting my full time job and just go to a bunch of festivals this summer. that and my best friend from HS is moving to NYC. we'll see what tomorrow brings.
Having a friend in NYC is a HUGE help. Not paying for a hotel + not having to travel to get back to a house an hour away was magnificent. Just wake up and stroll into the fest.
yesss. never been, but I'm sure it's comparable to lolla. staying an hour+ train ride outside of chicago one year was the biggest pain in the ass.

If Gov Ball gets Bjork, I have to applaud their growth as a festival in such a short time. This is the same festival that had Passion Pit headline four years ago.

Well, they did it the smart way and build it up. They had learned from APW's mistake of trying to be big right of the bat in the NYC/NJ metro area.
I wouldn't think Bjork could headline Govball. At Roo in 2013 she had like a 6pm slot.
Im still putting my money on Pearl Jam - The Black Keys - No Doubt. If one of those is wrong I'd replace them with Drake.
More than One is wrong.
To be fair, you can't compare Governors Ball to roo as far artist placement goes. It is a smaller fest and Bjork can headline fests. Maybe more so in Europe than here.

Bonnaroo taking the coward's way out and having Bjork preheadlining at 4th on the lineup says more in the negative about Bonnaroo than it does about any fest that has her rightfully headlining. Putting her behind Mumford & Sons was insane, and it was even crazier to drag Jack Johnson's tired carcass in to perform his Jimmy Buffett on NyQuil routine instead of just letting Bjork do her thing.

Oh come on you can't possibly think the majority of kids at Bonnaroo would have rather seen Bjork headline over Jack Johnson. And by "adding" someone, they avoid the whole "REFUND!?" backlash.
Drake is headlining. So are the Black Keys. Bjork is playing, but it's unknown if she's a headliner. I think Drake-Bjork-Keys would be fine, but who knows.

The majority of "kids" at Bonnaroo would have Bassnectar and Pretty Lights headlining every other year, with Steve Aoki playing late night. The "majority" of anything is almost always a giant, amorphous amalgamation of the lowest common denominator. There's a reason Budweiser is the best selling beer, and McDonald's the biggest restaurant chain: the majority has shit for brains. They already had the crowd they were going to have, nobody was buying new tickets, so just correct your original mistake and put Bjork up there.

They had yet to realize how much backlash could be weathered perhaps? Maybe going through the Kanye shit last year will give them more swagger in such circumstances.
This was the same year they put a shitty bar cover band in a coveted spot at one of the biggest music festivals in the country. Obviously they found doing bath salts to be a prerequisite for any scheduling decisions.
