Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
Been to Lolla 7 years, Roo 2. The crowds (minus perry's) really aren't that different. You encounter drunken assholes everywhere. You encounter great people everywhere.
Edit:The censoring on this forum is gag worthy.
15 year-olds from the suburbs wearing hilarious "HAVE YOU SEEN MOLLY" shirts can't take the train into and out of Manchester, TN for three straight days.

This is a gross oversimplification and I've said this before but at Bonnaroo I see people who look like they take drugs all the time. At Lolla, I see lots of people who look like they are taking drugs for the first time. I don't know which is worse as an attendee of each festival. However the gap between the two fests is much closer now than it was 5 years ago.
The crowd during M83 in 2012 basically sealed me never wanting to go back unless the lineup was great, and they were on the South side stage. I realize there's probably a lot of overlap in fan bases between your typical Perry's act and M83, but it's still obnoxious. The shitheads are spread out far enough to make non-Perry's crowds mostly suck--you gotta be in the like first 5% of the crowd to not want to punch everyone around you.
I'll agree with you on this. Big acts on the Lakeshore stage are just a terrible idea. I just left and went and got great spots for Sabbath

There's a solution: If you go to Lolla, skip the big acts.
Yeah you guys are right, I had a much better time having our tent broken into at Roo the first night we were there. It's much better than teens walking around wearing a dumb t-shirt. And of course there aren't any kids on drugs at Roo.
No one's saying there aren't obnoxious douchebags at Bonnaroo, they're at any festival. But it's a hell of a lot easier for suburbs kids to have their parents buy their ticket and take a train in droves to Grant Park because its "Lollapalooza" and all their friends are there cause its the cool thing to do, only to return home to their parents basement like a pack of drugged zombies. At least with Bonnaroo you have to be a somewhat committed fan of music to travel to bumfuck TN and camp for four days.
As long as Lolla keeps putting trendy pop acts on stages outside of Perry's (Lorde, Iggy, Gambino, etc) the douchebags will continue to flock out of Perry's and infest the rest of the festival.
@rorybbellows has gotten so many confirmations wrong, I wouldn't be shocked if drake nor kanye aren't at Lolla
You mean the one secondhand thing that I posted about Bjork playing Sasquatch? In the same post where I also told you exactly how many acts would overlap between Sasquatch and Boston Calling? You're right, my blunder.
"You look like you're listening to every note." - Lady to me during LCD's "final" show 2023: Mar 29 - Guster Apr 6 - Postmodern Jukebox Apr 26 - Father John Misty May 14 - Taylor Swift (Philly) May 17 - Robert Plant and Alison Krauss July 12 - moe. July 16 - CAKE (Portland, ME) July 28-30 - Newport Folk (#12!) Dec 8-9 - Goosemas!
Doing festivals overseas but are rumored to be doing some US shows in the late summer/fall so Lolla makes sense. It's wishful thinking but it could line-up. (no pun)

K THX...used to live in Chi-Town, now on the East Coast. It would take a Muse/Pearl Jam combo to get me over there for Lolla.
Metallica/Kanye/Muse would probably make me sh*t my pants which is why I refuse to get my hopes up. Been down this road too often with Lolla but honestly like most have said, give me Ye and Tallica and almost dont care about the rest of the top 6. Lolla's big enough that I will find plently of undercard acts to enjoy along with those 2.

It's not really that high of hopes, it's easily doable. It's seeming kinda likely at this point, unless someone comes in here and says otherwise.
At this time last year the consensus was Lolla had booked either Metallica or Pearl Jam or even both...there's still plenty of time for disappointment.

Yeah, but the consensus last year was based entirely on wishful thinking.
