Question from a Lolla rookie... assuming Metallica and Alesso are against each other, how hard would it be to split sets? Also, how long of a set will an act like Metallica get?
Considering that Metallica is probably playing the south stage and Alesso is playing Perry's, it shouldn't be hard. Those two stages are close to one another.
Metallica will likely net an hour and 45 minutes to 2 hours.
Twenty One Pilots will play the main stage, according to their AMA.
Then they'll probably play 4:00-5:00 or 4:30-5:30 on Bud Light, vs I'm guessing Gogol Bordello on South. Ouch. So now I think it's safe to say TVOTR would be closing Lake Shore. So ASAP vs Of Monsters and Men is most likely going to happen, and Nero will be closing Perry's.

Awesome, thanks for the info. Definitely prioritizing Metallica but after seeing Alesso's Coachella set I need to be there at some point.

Expect Alesso's Lolla set to be pretty similar to his Coachella set. He's the type of act to recycle the same sets and transitions for months.

Eh honestly that's kind of what I expected. I enjoyed it a lot so while I'd obviously like to see him switch things up, I'll live if it's more or less the same.
Who are you guys thinking will close Perry's Saturday? Alesso? I'm starting to get my hopes up for Tame Impala (South) -> Tyler (Lakeshore) -> Metallica that night. That would be pretty okay, but the pessimist in me says Tyler will close Perry's.
Ok so Cudi went from 14th billed to 11th billed and is now ahead of Alesso, I think that maybe now we can start assuming that Cudi will close Perry's.

Alesso is still 3rd on the daily schedule. However, Sam Smith is gonna have a pretty short set, so maybe he and Alesso will both play the North Stage.
Yeah now I'm thinking that too. Kid Cudi is still a big draw, and I think they'll have him close Perry's. Alesso will play from 8:45-10:00 on North, and it'll be Sam Smith vs Tame Impala, which means I get to get super close to Tame Impala while a lot of people are camping for Sam Smith. So now Banks moves into that Grove slot, because they aren't going to have two rap acts close at the same time. Or it could be Tallest Man on Earth.
South- Metallica North- Alesso Perry's- Kid Cudi Grove- Banks or Tallest Man on Earth
When should I start being on the lookout for the schedule/after parties?
not sure when they usually announce the after parties but i know the schedule should be out very soon, could be this week. That usually comes out around the same time the acl lineup does.
Anxious to see how they laid out Friday. I've already accepted there's no way I'll be able to see everything I want to that day, hopefully there's an after show to help clear a conflict.

I want to see a bunch of acts friday, but I'll be satisfied if I get to see Macca, Alabama Shakes or Alt-J (assuming one of the two plays before Macca), Young Thug, and BADBADNOTGOOD. Hopefully a FlyLo aftershow too
They posted a photo on their snapchat that said "SCHEDULE IS HERE TOMORROW" overlayed on the schedule and all you could make out is Broods on the Grove at 4pm and two kids stage acts.

Very impressed with the lolla schedule. Saturday looks pretty perfect for my tastes. Catfish & The Bottlemen > DFA1979 > Tame Impala > Brand New > Metallica. Wish I was going.
