Thats what I thought! That's the second time that phrase had been said to me today so I just wanted to make sure. Minus the colors part, never heard someone say it like that though.
BUT THANKS, GUY!
Not sure if...
serious?
Totes cereal.... the thanks was for saying i'm not an asshole.
You have a way about you that kinda annoys the piss out of me. You're trying to be helpful, yet you come off as a pretentious dick.
To reiterate what started this whole conversation. I've seen Paul McCartney 3 times now on this tour. I love him. He puts on an amazing show. Every show is the same tho. The Weeknd has become one of my favorite artists in the past year, maybe more, and I've yet to see him and he seems to rarely do "regular" tours. Maybe now that he's supposed to be releasing a new album and has gained a little more attention he'll tour on his own, but as of yet he's been very elusive for me. Paul doesn't seem to be "on the outs". His shows every night have tons of energy and he still seems to love what he's doing. MACCA in a festival setting is unrivaled. I could very well get there and decide it's not worth leaving. But to make it sound like its a non-issue to not entertain your other options is silly. I have seen Paul, I have seen him in a festival setting, I have seen him 7th row in an arena. Every single time was magical. But for me, it'll probably be an in the moment decision. I am in no way missing all of Paul to camp out for The Weeknd, but I also really want to see him. The Weeknd's Coachella set will also be a factor in my decision.
Just lessen your condescending tone, it'll do you wonders.
You came to the exact same fucking conclusion I did and still called me annoying, pretentious and condescending? Who's the asshole here?
You asked. Some dipshit said you could make it across the park in 5 minutes, and you abso-fucking-lutely cannot, even without the ridiculous crowd that will be lined up in what is essentially an unopposed headliner situation. So you asked a question I answered here, made a ridiculously stupid assumption in the ACL thread, and for that I'm the dick. Go fuck yourself. You're trying to be an asshole and succeeding completely.
You should really chill the fuck out dude. You've called me a liar and a dipshit while I've done absolutely nothing to provoke you. I have 100%, no doubt, made it across the park during the headliners in 5-10 minutes. Hence the "~5 minutes". It's entirely possible. There's no one around the fountain while the headliners are going and if you hang back, you don't face any resistance getting away from the main stages. I've been to Lolla for 5 years and I have absolutely no reason to lie about this.
Actually, I don't know why I'm even sitting here arguing about this. I'm just trying to help someone out so they can see every act they want to see because it's more than possible and you don't miss a whole lot while moving from end to end.

You might want to try that snickers, as previously suggested.

Anyone game to do a mock schedule of this bad boy?
I was creating one, but then I found one on the Lollaboards that was almost exactly the same thing. I took the BMI stage into account while this one doesn't.
This isn't mine, but I'd be down with this:
(Glass Animals)Tove Lo (Sylvan Esso) Gary Clark (Cold War Kids) Shakes (Hot Chip) Paul McCartney
(James Bay) St. Paul (First Aid Kit) War on Drugs (Father John Misty) alt-J (DJ) The Weeknd

Those Friday conflicts are killer, though. That, and the South seems a bit stacked.
Just a bit.
Friday south would be amazing though (I'd basically camp for Macca from the get go).
Oh wow, that's awesome. If that's the case I'll be at the south stage for literally all of Friday too. Nice string of bands, plus and most importantly, I'll be close for Paul
Man, I know. I'm only going on Friday too and I feel like I want to see every single act... Prioritizing is going to be rough. I really think I'm going to have to wait till I see a schedule before I overly commit to anyone.
Just ironed out details, I'm in for Saturday for this. Great lineup that day and it's going to be my first time ever at Lolla, pretty excited for Metallica.

Who are you guys thinking will close Perry's Saturday? Alesso? I'm starting to get my hopes up for Tame Impala (South) -> Tyler (Lakeshore) -> Metallica that night. That would be pretty okay, but the pessimist in me says Tyler will close Perry's.

I think Alesso will close Perry's, after seeing how packed his set was at Coachella. That's the biggest EDM act that day, aside from Carnage.
Tyler has definitely gotten bigger, but I don't see him closing Perry's over Alesso.
The highest spot I could see Tyler getting is Grove closer. Grove might be too small for him, but considering that Alesso, Sam Smith, and Metallica are playing at that time: his crowd would be smaller.
Tame Impala should be a pre-head before Metallica, but the pessimist in me is saying...they'll fuck everyone over and put them before Sam Smith, and Cudi before Metallica just to mix crowds. That would suck for me, because then I would have to sit through the act before the 4:00 act in order to have a decent view for Tame Impala.
Question from a Lolla rookie... assuming Metallica and Alesso are against each other, how hard would it be to split sets? Also, how long of a set will an act like Metallica get?
