Yeah I agree, nothing crazy. Lookin like Alt J Thursday, Brand New Friday, OM&M Saturday because the gf isn't going this year and it saves her $ on a single day for Sunday.
I'll probably be at MSTRKRFT. I was hoping for a Florence, Bassnectar, or Alabama Shakes show. I love being able to see a headliner in a small location like I've done in the past. Not too impressed this year.

My (constantly changing) thoughts:
Thursday: Hot Chip, probably. That's the only conflict I'm sad about, I may as well solve it. However, BADBADNOTGOOD, St. Paul, Glass Animals, and The War on Drugs are also options.
Friday: Sturgill, maybe. $18/ticket seems pretty good. I've already seen Walk the Moon, and I'll see them on Saturday anyway.
Saturday: Twin Peaks. I'll have already seen Catfish and the Bottlemen, and nothing else strikes my fancy that I won't see that weekend (OMAM, Lord Huron, TVOTR etc.).
Thursday: Badbadnotgood. I wanted to do Hot Chip, but based on when my flight gets in and where I'm staying, it'd be tough to make it in time. I guess I'll only be seeing them twice this summer.
Friday: Gonna take a shot at Tyler tickets. Not sure what plan B is, probably Sturgill, maybe nothing.
Saturday: Boyz Noize and Spank Rock at the grimiest after-hours bar in Chicago.
How hard do you think it's gonna be to get tickets to that Boys Noize show? I'm definitely gonna try for that one.
So happy I'll be there Thursday night. I basically want to go to every show. This may mean I'm going to end up staying with my cousin though so I'm in the city. Friday night is ridiculous too. I need to consult a schedule again, I'm overwhelmed with options right now.

How quickly do after shows sell out usually?
Depends on the show. Most of the big ones sell out right away. If you're 100% on a show I'd try to buy right when they go on sale. Ive had luck in the past if the shows are put on by live nation (oh hey Bonnaroo) using the app for the presale. I've seen Lana and Skrillex the last few years and those went instantly. I also caught Die Antwoord and Nero as a groupon. It's hit or miss

Got my presale for TVOTR, that'll be a hell of a show. DMA's should be a great opener too. I was bummed about no Stromae aftershow, so I'll get a TOP aftershow so I can see Stromae at Lolla. Stromae definitely won't be coming to Rochester, NY or Buffalo, NY anytime soon.
Presale for Twenty One Pilots is on Thurs through Livenation, I'll post the pre-code when they send it to me in my email.
I would be psyched just to go up for Thursday & Friday night. Catch Alt-J on Thursday, get a day pass for Lolla on Friday, and then catch Sturgill Simpson.
Not much money left in my budget though for the summer. Very jealous.

This is essentially what I'm doing. Only I haven't decided what shows I'm doing. I need to look at festivals schedules tomorrow tho and decide what after shows I should do.
luva, what show (if any) are you guys thinking for Friday night? I think I'm going to get a ticket for a Thursday night show, but if my cousin ends up moving before then (which is like 75% possible) I'll just sell the ticket & stick with our original plan of meeting up with PorchRadio on Thursday and tagging along to your place.
How are the venues these aftershows are at? Are there any venues for these aftershows that one should just avoid, or should I not let that play into my decision on which to see in an aftershow and which to see at the fest?
Avoid the Mid. The Aragon is run by Live Nation, and House of Blues is owned by Live Nation, expect to pay top dollar for everything at these venues. Security will also be a bunch of assholes.
If you have any interest in the shows at Lincoln Hall, Schubas, or The Empty Bottle I encourage you to check those places out. They are some of the best in the city.

I like the Mid when it's not packed, but I'd imagine it'd be wall-to-wall for the DJ Snake and Madeon show.
