Hey guys, I haven't been around the boards in a very long time, but I'm gonna be on the mountain solo for the first time this year. I'm a little nervous as this will be my first solo camping fest. Any words of encouragement? Are any of you guys and gals meeting up?

Me and cmack will probably get together and whomever else wants to, I'd be down. Only thing is that we will have to probably have a Plan A, B and C because cellular service is suspect at best. Not a lot of people on this forum go to Waka, but I'll have a drink with anyone. Can't help much on solo camping, as I've never done it alone. Suggestions would be to try to remember all the stuff you'll need, but most people there would share and the general stores have anything else you would need. Also, get an instant tent if you aren't that familIar with tents as some people have trouble with that. If you are experienced in putting a tent together than you don't have to worry about that. Otherwise you should be fine.
I recommend we put something together this weekend when everyone starts posting their schedules. We can gauge interest in who all wants to hook up and create a pm for that.
Awesome, thanks! I think my main concern is setting up a tent by myself :/ I will be practicing this week. Let me know if you guys need any help coordinating. This will be my third Waka and I'm beyond excited to get back to the mountain after a 2 year baby break.

Hey! This is my first time going to Waka and I am doing it solo myself too. Originally, Ne215 was going but his worked ruined those plans. Do you have a GA pass or VIP? I'm upping to VIP since I am rolling in solo. I advise the same if you can afford it. If you'd like to meet up with Estaban, myself and I believe Krisplettuce on this board is going to also, just let us know. We can try and coordinate something. Of course, come music its every man and woman for him/herself.
Estaban, I was thinking of driving straight from Austin into Waka which may land me in the middle of Wednesday night. Do they allow people in that late w VIP?

Also: IMPORTANT TRAVEL ANNOUNCEMENT: Please share with anyone traveling to ?#?Waka2015?. The Arkansas Highway Department has released an official statement that Highway 23, north of Mulberry Mountain will be closed until further notice. Due to a landslide affecting the road clearance, all festival traffic will need to utilize Interstate 40 to Highway 23 at Ozark, AR to access the festival site. The North Toll at Highway 23 and Highway 16 will be closed and all resources and staff will be moved to the South Toll. The number of check lanes will be increased to accommodate the additional traffic. Wakarusa organizers expect minimal impact from the road closure and expect the detour to take an additional 20-30 minutes. It is extremely important for Wakarusa patrons to use Highway 23 from Interstate 40 near Ozark. All patrons coming from the north should remain on I-49/540 South to I-40 East to Hwy 23. GPS devices may suggest alternative routes from the north. These will likely be logging or utility roads that are impassable by regular cars or are dead ends. All festival traffic needs to utilize Interstate 40 to Highway 23 at Ozark, AR to access the site. The Arkansas Highway Department press release is available below for more information regarding the road closure.
It's the mountains, shit happens. Spent a soggy ass weekend in Austin but luckily missed out on the flooding. Some day plans got rained out and it poured both times we tried to go to the Greenbelt. And had no idea when we left yesterday that flooding was on our ass. Even stopped at Tacos La Bamba in Beaumont for a platos pollo and didn't catch any rain until past BR.
I can't believe everyone we know aren't coming to this festival.
Right?? I have some friends that I met at my first Waka that were supposed to go and had to back out last minute. All my other friends have no excuse. haha
A few people I met last year are unable to attend, but we have a few new mf's going. I know Waka is 95% hippie, relatively small and off the radar, but it is a very unique experience, venue and scene. It's my favorite festival.

Im pumped for it But so bummed by buddy cant go.
The value for that vip upgrade can't be overstated. I know it's a midcard extravaganza this year, but I'm way more excited that I am for Bonnaroo the following weekend. If you have a great exp he will go in the future. It's pretty guaranteed. You will see a noticeable difference from the Hangout crowd.
Hey guys been a while since I last post. I'm headed to waka alone and down to meet up with anyone and hand out. Esteban, looks like we will have a lot of the same schedule. I'd love to meet up at one. I thought I read someone had a tix they were trying to get rid of. I haven't purchased one yet if the offer stands. Where is everyone coming from? My ride is up in the air and I'd be willing to hop a bus to where needs be if anyone has room. I got gas money and won't take up much room ( a bbag, backpack and me).

Dang looks like I won't be able to make it. My store was shut down and I got transferred to a new location and won't have the coverage to make it out for the weekend. Debating on just rolling out for a few days since it's just a three hour drive but idk. My bros that's were supposed to be going dropped out as well in favor of ACL and some other things.
Sucks Krisp, but I will be there Wed thru Monday am. Still trying to figure out what we do between Monday and Bonnaroo but am thinking about a day in Fayettville or Eureka Springs then slowly making our way over to The Farm. Can't wait.
I was just watching some Chance and some ProbCause and some Dilated Peoples and some Greenhouse Lounge. That's mostly midcard. And it all ruled. And Waka will rule. One week. Think about it. When will you see Conspirator next or Gigantic Underground Conspiracy at 230 am or Quixotic at 2 am? Don't be a *****. You said your boys didn't ball as hard as you so you were doing ga. But they all bailed, and cmack upped the game. Front row all the best shows and free beer. Do it.

:f*ckyeah:
I'm counting on a Quantic review from you, and isn't wsmfp playing this thing?
Panic isn't playing. I saw them play at Jazzfest in April, and then they just played Counterpoint where my oldest said it was a good show. I want to see Quantic, but they conflict with Dirty Heads both Saturday afternoon. I was loving Dirty Heads at Hangout, but I bolted out a few minutes early to post up for the make-up Break Science set. But since I'll be heading over to Satellite Stage on Saturday to see ProbCause after anyway, I can probably bail on Dirty Heads a half hour early and with enough time to catch the back 25-30 minutes of the Quantic set. I will give it a try, but you know how festivals can get fluxed.
