Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
Waka has announced, "See 'Waka' the Short Film on December 9th" Maybe it's just a film of Sassy the Sasquatch riding a scooter around or getting kicked out of a bar or something or maybe there will be lineup hints. We're doing one more year of Waka VIP before I cut everyone off the festival dole. I'm actually more excited about Waka than Bonnaroo or Hangout this year based on visits to all 3 festivals at least once over the last 3 years (3 trips to Hangout). Last year's lineup was stellar for what I like to see, and we had a ball. So hopefully they'll be dropping some hints or at worst, it's only another month or so until they release the first wave of the lineup.
Movie is A Day in the Life at Waka. It gives off happy vibes, but it really isn't that unique of a video as it could be almost any other camping fest. As everyone knows who has been, Wakarusa isn't your typical festival scene and is way more hippiefied than what it appears to be in the video if not quite as 100% hetti as Bear Creek was.
Initial lineup annoucement is 4 weeks from today. Annoucement Schedule is:
Lineup Announcement 1 - January 7th Lineup Announcement 2 - January 14th Lineup Announcement 3 - January 21st
For anyone viewing on mobile, I hope the link I type works (otherwise you can find the movie on their facebook account if you give a shit enough to watch it, which it's not anything anyone really needs to see)
Two years ago I was dying to go to this but didn't have anyone willing to go with me. I'll be keeping my eye on this fest for sure this year.
Today, part 1 of 3. It's already gonna be top 2 of the year (wish I would have listened to Jabco about Lock'n) . I'm hoping for 2 Tribe sets, 2 Umphreys and 2 Lotus sets. That's based on an assumption that Cheese is not playing. If so, then it doesn't matter. I'd like to see Mule and TAB along with maybe Galactic and Dirty Dozen from here. Waka should deliver. I'm thinking Derek/Pretty Lights in the Bassnectar midnight set and maybe a return engagement with Infected Mushroom? Calling Twiddle, Floozies, Break Science Dopapod and Kung Fu with maybe a late night Papadosio set. F yeah. Waka.
So The Roots are #4, and STS9 is #5. Next one out is #10 for Rebelution. Tons of stuff to fill in there, and it's off to a good start IMHO. I'll see Tribe anywhere, so Im' down for that. I saw The Roots at Bonnaroo 2012, and they were pretty entertaining. So I'll catch them. I saw Rebelution once before and liked them. Thomas Jack is at Buku (or somewhere else), so if I have a chance to catch him prior, I'll know. Down the lineup, Galactic usually is worth seeing, I love Conspirator, Gravity A is some of our homeboys from NOLA that we like, Minnesota is pretty good and we just saw Nth Power at Bear Creek, and they were great.

Bought my ticket during holiday sale, pretty happy with the lineup 1. The Devil Makes Three, Young the Giant, Roots, and Split Lip being my favorites from the list. Young the Giant does look odd in this lineup, I saw them last year at Center of the Universe with Capital Cities and twenty one pilots. Surprised they didn't give 1 of the top 3 acts and gave the entire bottom 10 of the lineup in the first drop.

Which is big for me. They have the majority of mid and upper card to go, and I am already happy with what we have that I would be able to make some decent schedules off the 1/3 release. They repeat a lot of people historically so I expect UM, Big G and maybe Chris Robinsons Brotherhood along with Twiddle, Floozies, Lettuce, Dopapod, and Kung Fu. If SCI isn't conflicted elsewhere, there is a shot at Eoto. I'm just wondering who they go after for the top if not SCI. Widespread? Phish? Also, for the Bassnectar slot last year, I'm thinking most likely Pretty Lights or Skrillex.
Yeah, I'm thinking Panic and Pretty Lights are gonna be two of those Top 3 [tm]. Not sure of the other one. Primus or My Morning Jacket maybe? Maybe another big DJ. I guess Umphrey's will probably be there but you gotta think they'll be the 6th or 7th name. As for midcard, with Wanee getting Zappa Plays Zappa, that'd be pretty kick ass up there.
STS9 moved from 4 to 5 with The Roots being 4. I personally think that should be reversed, but that's personal preference. So there's literally 3 spots at the top where 1 is likely to be the main-stage EDM show. Pretty Lights fits the vibe WAY MORE than Skrillex, though probably no one is going to hate on a midnight Skrillex show which would be opposed by a main headliner from the Revival Tent anyway (was Umphrey's last year). So if it's Panic, I guess the 2/3 would be EDM Headliner and then maybe Moe or Dispatch? So hard to say with Slots #1, #2, #3, #6, #7 and #8 still on the table.
Could be, and I'd be perfectly fine with that. Still hoping for a bunch of cool upper midcard which would involve, Lotus/Moe/Dispatch/Lips doing Sgt. Pepper's or whatever.

The newspaper music blog here in Northwest Arkansas, NWA Tuned In, predicted My Morning Jacket, Wilco, or Spoon as the "rock" headliner and Oakenfold as the EDM. It's possible MMJ could do it but they are also playing Gov Ball the same weekend.

It won't be dispatch. Their only show of 2015 in the USA will be at Madison square garden with John butler trio.
Spoon would make this decision even harder for me especially if they dont play at hangout
I haven't seen them yet. The biggest problem with Waka is what direction they go in and who gets multiple sets which I think is a bit of a staple. Their lineups, while often including many of the same acts, don't seem to follow a particular format for who headlines. For instance:
While EDM, Jam and Rock more or less dominate, it's tough to predict. Disco Biscuits would be super cool since I can't go to Aura and have them on my list of shit to see.
yea i noticed that when looking at past lineups. If the next wave tops the first one its gonna be hard to pass on this
Have you ever been ne? We went last year for the first time and had a fucking blast. VIP is the way to go if you can swing it. It's pretty different than any other fest I've been to. Beyond the jam, funk, rock, edm and livetronica, there is a high concentration of blue grass and mountain string, and I didn't even get near any of that despite being a fan. I actually preferred Waka to my one trip to Bonnaroo, but since we are doing back to back this year, I'll be able to determine for sure how much better I like it or what aspects. They really don't do any pop and only a little indie which I'm okay with, but I'd like to see them add a little more rap.
Never been. Cmack has been wanting to go the last 2 years and we almost choose it over Hangout in 2013 actually but in the end the beach and Stevie Wonder won out. My plans for the spring time might be changing and if they do its a strong possibility i make the trip this year and even if they dont waka will still be in play.
