I'd consider Gambino as a sleeper candidate for LN Which opening for Bassnectar, like Ice Cube opening for Skrillex last year. Seems like they're trying to do one LN rap on Which every year now.
Nailed it. Saturday night LN Which after Mumford could very well be Childish > Bassnectar
Hopefully these will pull the masses away from me and my pals at Earth Wind & Fire
No WAYYY man, there are so many acts that need to get latenights, I'll be bummed if they give EWF a LN set because they would be just as awesome on the Which right before Kendrick
i know maybe it'll make some people butt hurt but is there any way RTJ gets like 730-8:45 tent or something, or are we in consensus they'll be late night. i see them possibly getting an earlier set time

As long as it's dark out, that's fine for me and I'm quite sure that will happen. Whether or not it's an official LN after the headliner, is the real question for me

it's my theory that since they don't really need a lighting aspect they can easily put them in the evening. not that every late night requires lighting, but rap can still be great in the evening

I agree with the people are saying Bonnaroo is too unpredictable to know what's going to be late night. It's just a pipe dream of mine I guess

I'm convinced, this sounds like a better option. Honestly I've learned there are always so many good late night acts that this year, since the headliners suck, I'm hoping for my favorites to get pre-headlining spots
Oh, I said it in the King Gizz thread but I'll say it here too... Atomic Bomb! -> King Gizz would be one of the best LN combos ever
I know king Gizz won't get a LN, but I said we couldn't even get em on the farm so I'm hoping if I deny the possibility of this, it will happen as well.

Same, I got nothing against Gambino but I kinda hope he takes up that prime real estate so I can get a better spot for a tent show.

Hey we need some sacrifices, otherwise the conflicts will piss us of even more.
Yeah, I am actually okay with this because I've already seen them, so that, combined with them not getting a LN slot, allows me to skip them if need be and I won't be bummed about it.

Here's to hoping they never have a clusterfuck of conflicts like last year's Saturday again. Frank Ocean/ Skrillex Superjam/ Nick Cave/ Flaming lips was BRUTAL.

Look at us, radiating positivity!
Wow, is this a inforoo Which stage first?!
Also, a yeah Falkor, that was arguably the worst conflict bonnaroo has ever had

idk why but favorite post i've read in a long time, like "yea, we are positive sometimes about shit aren't we? YES WE ARE!!!"

RTJ - Most feared set due to the amount of people who will be in this tent. Flylo/SBTRKT- Either or, but wont hesitate to skip both repeats for something better. STS9/Dopapod - Can see them playing into the sunrise on two separate days. So I wont be in a rush to get over to those sets. Caribou - Want to see, but most likely going to conflict. MMJ - Must see Which Gramatik - Must see Tent Bassnectar - Wildcard spot. Wont be seeing him so hope Roo has some other good options. Slayer - Metal tent closer, pending conflicts Flume/ODESZA - Hopefully both, but Flume over ODESZA Kalliope - Dont forget about the Kalliope
Nice list, you're making me think now:
RTJ - It is probably a safe assumption that this tent will be so packed I'll end up skipping it for something else anyway. At least that is how I'm going to proceed mentally so I don't get disappointed. Flylo/SBTRKT- Either or, but wont hesitate to skip both repeats for something better. STS9/Dopapod - I agree with you about STS9 sunrise potential, but I don't think there is enough love for Dopapod to give them that spot. But otherwise I have no clue where they would put Dopapod. MMJ - LN which, we'll see who conflicts. would pick slayer over them if I had to. Gramatik - tent, but could get daytime'd Bassnectar - LN Which, most likely, although a small chance of a zedd which closer spot. Either way I see myself skipping ole' bassnectar for something else. Slayer - Could close a LN tent, or could open a LN tent with a lesser known act closing. sort of like how Mastodon opened LN last year, with Meshuggah, the lesser known act, closing. Caribou/Flume/ODESZA - One or more of these are going to get daytime'd, I'm willing to bet. I'm not super familiar with Flume or ODESZA but I'd like to catch Caribou. I've only been a fan since "Swim" but I enjoy everything I hear and have never seen him live.
Last year they announced 21 acts including the thursday night acts. I say everyone you have hear is a good call. You could add Jungle, Medeski Martin..., superjam obviously, tycho, jaime xx, glass animals, childish gambino, against me, the growlers, royal blood, ben harper or ben folds.

I'm tentative about MSMW LN. My experience when they add Scofield is its a much chiller vibe, but I've only listened to a bit of their live stuff so I could be wrong. If it was just MMW I'd be all for a LN set.
OK aging myself now, but everyone go back to the first Bonnaroo DVD. Pretty sure it was the first. When they go into the LN segment, who was the band they were playing? Goddamn MMW, thats right, getting straight up fucking weird. Give me that kind of "The Dropper" era type MMW insanity and I'd be all for a LN.
Besides the Bonnaroo tradition of it, I really do not see why the Superjams are a latenight thing.
We quickly discussed this in the mock schedule thread. What I think they SHOULD do this year, especially if they do New Basement Tapes, they should give the Superjam the Arctic Monkeys slot on Sunday because those tunes are much more fitting for an afternoon in the What Field than they are for a LN dance party.

I agree and would personally attend a lot more Superjams if they were in the afternoon. I think they fit the spirit more. It would especially be nice have video screens for the Superjams, so you can see all of the special guests on stage.
