Rendezvous is not overrated. That shit is great. Touristy, of coure. Its one of the top rated barbecue places in the country. The lamb ribs are the best.

I know what you mean. I gave up beef when I was 21 just to try it for a year or so, and I made my last meal a pastrami on rye from 2nd Ave Deli in NYC because I knew how much I'd miss it. Then that slowly morphed into giving up all red meat (I even tried to go full vegetarian for a few months last year, but I blew right up from eating way too much bread and pasta).
I view it like I view people who don't drink: some are moral crusaders, some never had a taste for it in the first place, some do it for health reasons - and some (like me) still kinda want to but know they shouldn't. Call me up tomorrow and tell me scientists have discovered a bacon tree, though, and I'll be scarfing down BLTs with the best of 'em.

I don't think I'm going to end up making it. My friend who was going to come with cancelled, so I never booked a room or anything. I'm such a procrastinator.
As of now, it is looking like I may just get to do Friday night... Ryan, Jenny, and Flaming Lips... we are staying that night at Southaven. I will work on my crew, though, and if possible I am game!
So who is everybody excited to see? Myself, people or bands I haven't seen Lenny Kravitz - Breaking Benjamin - Spin Doctors - Wilco - Hozier - Kaiser Chiefs - Cage The Elephant - and Elle King. I will most likely choose these over others I've seen, Ryan Adams - B.O.H. - Soul Asylum. Seen & can't miss, Avett Brothers - Slash - Flogging Molly - Kenny Wayne Shepherd Band & Indigenous. Full plate for me, not bad for a 75 dollar ticket.
I will not forget about the Blues tent either, always great shows in the tent. Just doesn't seem to be spread out as well as past years with staggering the times, they screwed that up.
I guess I have to see the Pixies; they're an old favorite and I doubt that I'll get another chance. Avetts, Slash, Lenny. George Clinton!! Robert Randolph and Will Tucker in the tent. Lot's of options for me this year.

well I'm officially going. me and a buddy got tickets sat. staying at the motel 6 in AR 10 miles away. was $100/night so should be nice and clean lol. I'm bad at planning but if everybody is meeting here than I can't miss it.

We are driving Friday to memphis. I've gotta wake up super early to drive my son to Rogers arkansas (4 hours away!!!!!!!!!!!!) bc my backup backup plan for babysitter didn't work out. So I've gotta be back in little rock around noon-ish to meet up with my friends. There are 4 of us in a kia soul --- if you don't have a ride into memphis... I'll see what I can do about taking my own car to give you a lift.
EDIT: Ooops. Just saw the part about little rock on monday. We are leaving Sunday afternoonish to go home. We usually skip sundays. I wanted to see cage the elephant but I'm seeing them at sloss fest in july so it wasn't a big deal to me that everyone wants to leave

Well. It depends. I didn't get searched last year getting in but I went through the side entrance.
Don't pay for more than $10 parking spots. Trust me, there are cheaper one's around. There's this lot close to the venue that I always go too. I may show you where it is if you're nice to me.
I don't mind DD'ing for you crazies. I've yet to get drunk during this (or any) fest really. Well....chicken and 40's 2 years ago got me nicely buzzed. Ah that was a fun day.

We actually did Silky's the year before as well if you remember. That was my first Inforoo brunch type thing. Gus's was that Sunday and yes....sidewalk 40's with the magical unicorn is in my top 10 favorite memories.
