So I can't go to the festival. I will be there Saturday for brunch and Beale shenanigans though. I need hugs from everyone in this thread. Just saying. I hope everyone can make it to brunch. What time is everyone thinking of showing up at Silky's?
Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!! I was hoping you would be there Friday. We will meet at Bonnaroo this year instead. I don't think I will be able to go any this weekend except Friday.
How picky are the entrance guys on 12x12 backpacks/bags... do they even make bags that size since the 90's fanny packs?
IDK man. Last year the security line at the main entrance went pretty fast. I held my bag open and they looked in. My guy friends had to empty their pockets and be pat down though? But never every time.
Let's say a friend of mine would like to bring some fun times with them, what's security like at the fest?
I smoked openly last year. My buddy brought some waxy stuff and had a piece for his vape so that he could smoke freely in the open. Getting it in though, ehhh... I have no clue. Find someone with boobs. That's how I sneak stuff in though. Last year security was hit and miss through the main entrance. Side entrances didn't really check me?
Main entrance is usually always strict. I've seen dogs there multiple years. Last year, we came through the south entrance all 3 days - Saturday was the only time they stopped us to pat-down, barely. I hope BSMF security isn't reading this.

Main entrance? That's the north side one, correct?
Wanna do Silky's on Sat at like 1 or 2? We did Silky's last year, Gus's the year before. Waited forever at Gus's but got schwilly on the sidewalk with some 40's.
[brMemphis bound! Hope to meet up at Silky's @ 2 PM. Will that work for everyone?
We're all a mess of paradoxes. Believing in things we know can't be true. We walk around carrying feelings too complicated and contradictory to express. But when it all becomes too big, and words aren't enough to help get it all out, there's always music.
I'm staying at a motel 6 in marion AR. hopefully they leave all the lights on.
I really hope you have a great time. I investigated that motel when I was thinking of going. Maybe someone will be kind and let you sleep on their floor.

. We are at Silkies on the outside. Shade area near the sidewalk. I have on a polka dot dress, tie dye socks and a tie dye jacket. Little Rock has on a white tshirt.

soo, what was the drama with five finger death punch?? someone at work told me the band walked off stage? did anyone catch it?
also, I'm so sad we didn't get to stay longer for the inforoo brunch and I was mad later when i failed to get a picture with you guys!! But it was so nice seeing you guys again!
We had a blast. I missed bleachers and sterling because I was a little drunk. During flogging molly, devil's dance floor came on and I was dancing all crazy and this guy and girl came through. The guy stopped and we danced together and his girlfriend came over and literally drug him away. My friends were nice and caught it all on camera. I've posted it on instagram and we have had too many laughs about it. Drunk nerdbyrd gets silly.
There was a chick during avett brothers who was using shazam app to write down songs she liked. we all got a kick out of that. pretty adorable.
I took a ton of picture and videos -- posted them on instagram and facebook. I believe my instagram name is rachealbyrd

The Beale St Festival crowd talked through most of the concerts I attended Friday... I've never seen it that bad at any other festival I've been to in the past. It was like it was a social gathering instead of a concert. Don't get me wrong - I had a great time and was completely absorbed into my musicians, but I definitely had to tune out the people around me. Was that the problem? I could see how that could get to some musicians. Not enough to walk off stage, though. lol

Oh wow.... That is crazy! I thought Beale street did a fantastic job this year getting bands going in time. Last year after STS9 taking down their equipment and waiting FOREVER for beats antique to come on and they had to play a short set bc of time restrictions ... that sucked. Didn't have any of that this year.
I noticed a lot of talking, too, even up close. G-Eazy was probably the worst set I went to where the talking took place. A lot of my videos weren't great quality bc it was people in the background. My favorite set was the pixies. They took me by surprise and I LOVED it. Flaming lips was magical as always. I was so shocked when they played yoshimi and I was the only person in my area that knew the lyrics. My video is basically me yelling the lyrics and it was bad so I didn't post it anywhere LOL.
We didn't stay sunday night for those shows. I saw one of my friends posted cage the elephant crowd surfing and I hate I missed that.
Also, I posted this on twitter but.... the portos were legit this year. Not one single time I used one (and I stayed pretty lit the whole festival) was it nasty or had pee on the seat. I was so shocked. There was also plenty of TP. And lights at night time inside. I got kind of spoiled.... Bonnaroo is gonna kill me this year lol

I need to add you on Twitter - I agree on the portas. They were in great shape! The lack of rain helped, too. ha
agreed portos were top notch! I had a few bands surprise me this year. Hozier, ghost town blues band, Jarkus Singleton and of course my love for ed sheeran goes deep.
also got a big ole hug from token! doesn't get any better than that
