Has anybody had a chance to check out Beck's new single? I'm a little on the fence about it. I like that he's going in a new direction, but it seems a little boring.
Beck had said that he was working with Pharrell and others on the new album so I figured it would be a little more "poppy". I'm not sure how I feel about that single. I just took a listen. I love anything with that underlying disco beat and there is a little bit of that here but overall I guess I don't love it.
I agree. I was expecting something danceable, which it is, but I would have thought the first single would be way more out there. This one's just kind of "meh" for me
i seriously cant believe we ddint get RTJ, Royal Blood, or Hot Chip this year it still baffles me we didnt get any give how many fests they all have played

Just heard Fun, "Some Nights" on the radio. Took me straight back to dancing in the sand in circles with Moten's group. Seems like it was forever ago. Can't wait for next year! We're going to have to come up with meeting spots at every stage where we can catch up with each other, regardless of who shows up for what.

Moten, I'm going for the house that I told you about on West Beach Blvd at the gate. You'll pass by it if you're coming from the west, it's just outside of the gate (in the wrong direction) if you're staying at the east. It'll be the white "purple house". All we have to worry about now is what's going to be in the keg...

So awesome. We're pretty much committed to our Ocean Reef place. Me, Shell and Sarge are the only definites for next year but we'll fill in as needed and definitely party with you guys!

Also, look for me in a fucking suit next year on the beach. New tradition my buddy and I are doing. Straight up tie n vest partying my ass off on the beach. With a crustacean on my head. Got lots of props and laughs at waka. Requires 100% commitment.

I guess this is Rolling Stones eve. Switching gears...definitely want to keep on keeping on with the Inforoo Hanging out. Really enjoyed the Purple House Peeps with awesome hugs, premium beer, friendly, etc. I may have to bring the PA down so we can jam loud next time. Speaking of jam...sure would like to have everybody over for a deck party. If you are in the vicinity of Estill Springs, beer is on me. I can't wait to get poolside with Sarah and Scott. Hopefully Krisp and Kim can find us the same night, as well as everybody else. That was a hoot. I know I was running on empty after nine days of partying.
Gave another listen to Muse this morning. My son is/was and might still be a Muse fan. I agree they would make for an awesome headliner. Anyone heard Nate Ruess? His new release with Beck sound Hangout-ie. Ditto Third Eye Blind. I am loving Amos Lee's new Red Rocks Live with Colorado Symphony. Ditto the new Jason Isbell release song by song. And last but not least, shout out to Hank Williams Jr and the new release of 35 Greatest Hits. In my book...Hank is up there with Elvis. One of the most outrageous and rocking shows I have ever seen. Give 'em Hell Hank Jr!
How much are those houses to rent? How far are yall from the fest? I really enjoyed the place we stayed at but they hiked almost 400 bucks plus we wanna do an extra day. Beach front balcony and view, 5 minutes fron the fest was fantastic.

The houses we've stayed in have been pretty comparable to what we've paid for a beachfront condo, give or take a couple hundred. The one we have reserved for next year is higher, but it's literally just outside the west gate, directly across the street from where the Hangout stage is set up. Besides being willing to pay for location (I prefer to do the majority of my walking once I'm inside the gates), we always take parking into consideration. Our group usually trickles in anywhere between Thursday morning and Friday afternoon, so we always have at least 4 or 5 cars between us. Staying at a condo where we only get one spot can cost an additional $10 - $25 a day per car. With a house, everybody has a place to park for free.
Is the new house between 1st and 2nd or 2nd and 3rd streets? I know where Bill's is. I know the three story blue party house across from Island Winds East...wow...they party! I know the row of apartments across from Bill's, but still trying to figure out which house you are renting next year. If you are that close, should be able to get you all over to the IWE pool for chill time. Those chills in the pool during heat of the day were the bomb this year. Definitely agree with the parking issues. I am restricted to one vehicle next year.

They took out the two houses closest to 2nd street to build Bill's. The one we're staying at used to be the third house that you see in the street view, but now it's next door to the restaurant.
Now if we can get a spectacular lineup for next year...woo hoo! We can do a lot better in the live music department next year. I do not mind chipping in on the beer.

I'll be at Bayfest that weekend and I can guarantee you'll be listening to better music than I will. But, what the hey. It's 10 minutes away and I usually score free tickets so I'm not gonna complain.
