RHCP, as phoned in as it was, was miles ahead of DMB's set that year. Gosh, that was awful.
Have to totally agree. I didn't think RHCP were that bad, as it was my first time seeing them but DMB is rivaling the KOL show right before they broke up as worst live music performance I have seen. A few people in my group left early to head home.
Also looks like Blu is going to lose their sponsorship going forward. In the amendment to add Goldenvoice as co-owner, one of the sections was on no tobacco or cigarette sponsors, except for 2015. It specifies that 2015 would be the exception.
All sponsors and the lineup has to be approved by Gulf Shores 30 days prior to the site usage period. Makes me wonder if the 'catch a chevy' was taking away from the local cabbies or creating too much traffic on beach blvd.

Do you have a link to the permit amendment? Just curious

Phish or Pearl Jam on Friday night/Santana, Prince or Eric Clapton on Saturday night/Jimmy Buffett & Kenny Chesney Closing Sunday on the Beach Janelle Monae/Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds/Old Crow Medicine Show/Amos Lee (never get enough of the Dude...awesome writer/performer The Replacements/Lee Bains III and the Glory Fires/Grace Potter and the Nocturnals/Tedeschi Trucks Band/Moon Taxi (again, can't get enough moon taxi)
The only performer I would boycott is probably Kanye West. Not a big fan of Mumford and Sons and Drake, but would give them a listen.
Definitely all in for Jimmy Buffet, Kenny Chesney, Santana, or Fleetwood Mac (pieces of parts of...Stevie, Lindsey, etc). Any of those would make the whole festival unforgettable for me.
Sticking to the original lineup request above. Tedeschi-Trucks on the beach would be awesome. Moon Taxi, Jason Isbell, Alabama Shakes, Delta Rae, Amos Lee, OCMS, Grace Potter, North Mississippi Allstars (without The Word), were all Hangout faves and would be welcomed back with open arms.
Recent adds: Ray LaMontagne, Earth Wind and Fire, AC/DC, Pharrell Williams, Justin Timberlake, Sting/Police, Sturgill Simpson, Robert Plant and the Spaceshifters, Incubus
Dang...Red Hot Chili Peppers were won of my top headliners at Hangout. I think they were a one headliner kind of deal. I do not want to see them again. Same with Kings of Leon, Stevie Wonder, and others. I would like to see DMB again because Dave had voice issues and I believe they could put on a better second show. They were made for Hangout/Beach music on Sunday night.
i was in above avg shape but i ate it all away and still have no energy to go back to the gym yet. eating a burger and fries prior to breakfast prob wasnt the best idea
Anyone else trying to book a condo through VBRO? I booked during the fest last year and it went right through. I've tried three different condos and all were declined after payment and I got a new invoice saying they did not put in their "Hangout Fest pricing" and the rates are jacked up 3 plus times the original amount. I know VRBO defaults at some points but you would think the condo owners would be aware that people book right after the fest like they do every year. This is getting frustrating.
I usually just do cardio the week I get back from Hangout. Just don't have the energy to lift or do anything too streneous. I can jus sit on a stairmaster or bike for an hour n sweat out all the bs. Get back to it next week.

^^ we called to ask about booking ours again and they told us we were better of waiting bcuz they couldnt guarantee the price bcuz they knew there would be an increase, something like that but cmack would know better since he talked to them. I got a bad feeling im gonna have to miss next year if these prices become too outrageous, i love this fest and all but im not trying like $300 for a ticket and 2k for a room

Ok guys, if you could have 1 previous headliner from a previous Hangout come back, who would it be and why? Limited to 2010-2013 Hangouts because there's no way they'd book headliners back-to-back years and I think 2014 would be too soon also.
EDIT: Here would be your choices-
2010: Trey Anstasio Band, John Legend 2011: Paul Simon, Widespread Panic 2012: Dave Matthews Band, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Jack White 2013: Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, Stevie Wonder, Kings of Leon

Trey (with Phish), however unrealistic that is now. Outside of that Paul Simon then Jack White.

Right. Seabreeze wasn't bad at all and a 15 minute walk up west beach. We didn't have a problem walking around all weekend. I'm sure we could book there again at a cheap rate but without chichinchickasaw's gracious hospitality we wouldn't have been able to leave the fest for drinks/relaxation and make it back for the next set which is what we are looking for.

ah ok. when i rode in from Mobile the guy we drove with when we gave DJ Fluker a ride was Ben and he was from NY and after we let the car off at Hertz cmack came and got us and we dropped him off at Seabreeze
There's a San Carlos spot 7th floor that sleeps nine for $2280 for 4 nights on VRBO. Only have to put down $80 now. Gonna try and book that bitch. We'll have at least 10 guys and with that split we're looking at $228 for the weekend. Not bad at all, we paid $225 for Seawind this year. San Carlos is that much closer.
