I just assumed it would be Brad Wilk from RATM (also on Black Sabbath's last album) but only really Rage fans would no his name hence no top billing? That being said, Brad is sick!
Could possibly be Mike Bordin . Faith No More has shows scheduled up to October 25th

Maybe dual drummers with both since we are getting dual lead guitarists. Though I just googled both drummers and Wilk is Smashing Pumpkins "touring drummer" as of 2014 and don't know if he is their current touring drummer ( I get confused with all of these bands hiring "touring musicians" as Morello is actually Bruce Springsteen's "touring guitarist") but your probably right as Bordin was Ozzy's drummer over Black Sabbath's drummer. Either way Ozzy on Halloween is worth the pre sale price.
So at first glance I'm not super excited about the lineup as they couldn't really beat the last few years for my tastes, but it's new orleans on Halloween weekend and you can't beat that. Esp with the cheap GA weekend passes, but I was def hoping for some better middle tier bands and a bigger headliner. Overall though it is a pretty unique lineup and you can't beat NO Halloween weekend. Oh and did I mention I'm having my bachelor party there this year with 15+ crazy mofo's.
So I was at voodoo a few years back but don't recall if they had any late night shows and was wondering if they have any advertised on their site? I found a few on my own that one year but dont recall to many others. Also what's a good forum/message board to keep an eye out for these shows or other details besides inforoo of course?
Also the fact that Sunday will likely be Eric Prydz > Deadmau5 on Le Plur has me super stoked for another b2b set.
Pretty sure they're not on b2b terms anymore. Deadmau5 attempted to reach out to Prydz to plan the HDoD set beforehand, but Prydz didn't seem privy on coordinating the set.
Where did you see that? The set went off great, and they've both already been friends?
Brad Wilk is out of the Pumpkins now, so he could be playing. Billy (not calling him 'William') got rid of Brad and the James Iha replacement so he's got an all-girl band now I want to say but I might be wrong. This is also the last 'Smashing Pumpkins' tour as he is butthurt that people just want to hear 90's Pumpkins and don't give a shit about what he is doing now. It's just been the Billy Corgan Band since Jimmy quit anyways (D'arcy and James were always replaceable, they just looked really cool)
Bill Ward definitely ain't happening. I was super pissed he hasn't been involved in the Black Sabbath tours lately because their is a bitter dispute with some sides blaming Sharon being a bitch, and other sides saying Bill is unreasonable in regards to how much money he wants etc, and that his playing is shitty these days.
I personally would love to see Bill Ward, as I'm a drummer specifically because of him, but if he sucks now then it is what it is. I know he was a homeless derelict for a while.
While this lineup does leave some to be desired, it's going to be a fucking blast. Halloween in NOLA in general is always epic, but Halloween on Saturday is the best because it has the most participation.
As for post-Voodoo shows, yes, there will be some. Bookmark this page: www.satchmo.com/nolavl/concerts.html This is a constantly updated NOLA concert calendar and is incredibly useful.
If you're coming from out of town def come on Thursday so you can check out a cool club the night before and get time to do some non-fest activities.
What to expect in terms of late night shows: Maple Leaf- jam/funk Tipitina's- Galactic on Halloween night Maison & Blue Nile- Hiphop or funk DBA- Brass bands Howlin' Wolf- The best shows imo go down here Halloween weekend the past few years. Big funk superjams. House of Rules- Something will be going down there, might be good Republic- EDM
Frenchmen Street will be a ridiculous shitshow on Halloween night with n20 tanks blasting and tons of amazing costumes. Def worth going for the street party post-fest if there isn't a show you are interested in.

Im sure they're friends, but they seem to have different styles when performing. Deadmau5 is all about planning his sets beforehand, Prydz seems to decide tracks on the fly.
I'm definitely attending, but this year is going to be a little bite of the tongue vs. what you know will be a Hulaween way more to my tastes. But driving 7.5 hours vs. walking 10 blocks just doesn't make it worth it. I also wonder how the move of Bear Creek to early October helps or hurts Hulaween and vice versa.
There is also the dilemma of whether or not to keep my 2nd weekend ACL pass. ACL has a pretty great lineup, but it's just so packed and crowded, and it's an aggravation getting there and back from Deep South Austin. So I'm on the fence with that.
Third Eye Blind into Chance The Rapper into Zac Brown Band seems weird/random, i don't know how voodoo does the scheduling though.
Voodoo is okay with random, last year they did Slayer > Outkast on the main stage, but they are also fine with having a mid-tierish act close a smaller stage rather than pre-headline the main stage. Totally possible Chance closes one of the smaller stages, unless I'm way underestimating his draw. And the smaller stage closers don't always conflict with the main stage closers, sometimes their sets end right before the main stage headliner begins or shortly thereafter.
It is fairly easy to predict the EDM stage / main stage conflicts, beyond that its a guessing game.
with the current stage production Deadmau5 has, could he close Ritual on sunday? then Chance on Le Plur?
voodoo has yet to have an EDM artist headline the main stage. It's possible, but I think its pretty certain ZBB will close the main stage, they are headliners whether we like it or not.
also totally possible deadmau5 does a set without his rig and just uses the stock le plur rig when he closes le plur.
So has anyone done loa vip and is it worth the extra price? I had no problems in GA a few years back but I got a big group of late 30/early 40 guys coming and we are discussing whether to go GA or vip but im leaning toward GA since it is more affordable.

Any thoughts?
I've done LOA the past few years and its pretty good. Used to be better though. Last year the LOA Front Row access at the main stage was smaller than it used to be, and got REAL packed for the headliners. The cargo container viewing areas look cool but are worthless if you aren't on the rail of the cargo container.
It's cool to have chairs to sit in at the LOA lounge while waiting for a show.
The LOA Front Row for the Le Plur stage is great, but it gets so packed up there sometimes you can't even fight through the crowd to get to the entrance, and it will definitely be full for the big name acts.
LOA Front Row for the other smaller stages is cool but totally not necessary. Don't get me wrong I used them, but the crowds at those shows are small enough that you can get a decent spot in regular GA.
Priority entrance was huge last year because they screwed something up on Friday and the lines to get in were ridiculous. But usually the lines are small so priority entrance is not a big perk.
Soooooo basically if the Le Plur LOA and main stage LOA section were guaranteed to be larger, it would definitely be worth it.
But even with my complaints, if I do go I'll be doing LOA.

I had a bad experience with LOA last year and this is the first year in 5 that I am not doing LOA. If they stop screwing LOA over by making the viewing areas smaller, and having less perks each year than I will go back. The main stage viewing area and the entrance lines are what make it worth it. I get to Voodoo early and have never had an issue getting in with GA. Right now, I think that LOA is overpriced for what you get and GA is completely easy to get front row on all the stages except Le Plur and the main stage. I will say, the free massages in LOA are pretty sweet though.
very surprised not to see ODESZA on there. and yelawolf is disappointing
They played everything else though. I saw pieces parts of 3 sets but maybe my favorite was when Odesza came out with Adventure Club at Hangout. I think you said you saw a piece of that show at Buku, right? As for Yellawolf, one of my people and his gf are going see him Sunday. One of my kids countered that he over reps Alabama. I'll try to give him a listen at Voodoo and see for myself. But then again, somebody told me that the newer stuff slants toward country or Southern.
Oh and early morning line on top 10 shows of the weekend:
1. Ozzy Superjam 2 . Jane's Addiction 3. Florence and the Machine 4. Jack U 5. Chance the Rapper 6. Lettuce 7. Fishbone 8. Slightly Stoopid 9. Clutch T. Frank Turner & Sleeping Souls or Here Come the Mummies
