Peaches is also doing a late night show with Quintron at One Eyed Jacks on Halloween.
Some event called Hells Gala at the Sugar Mill as well (didn't realize that place was still going) No info on acts but it looks like some Republic/Bottle Service asshole type of deal.
Neon Indian also just got announced on 11/8 at Republic, I'll be at Skinny Puppy that night but Esteban, if you don't go to Puppy you would def enjoy Neon Indian live.
I fucking love Peaches. The last time I saw her was at OEJ, and I almost got into a fight though due to my festie bestie's ex-bf stalker.

On a scale of "yea brah, eat sleep rave repeat" to "damn you, you misplaced n00bert mollyhead", where should I be judged for now contemplating missing Ozzy and Co. if the Halloween Le Plur run becomes Zhu>Duke Dumont>Steve Angello?

Based on your username implying you are pushing 40, I would say skipping Ozzy would put you high up on the cheesedick continuum.
Skipping a one-off special lineup show on Halloween from the aging Prince of Darkness, in fucking New Orleans, for a DJ that will play the same shit he played a few years ago, that he'll play when he's back in two years, does seem inexcusable.
Your money and time though. Enjoy the finest of optional entertainment that you prefer.
If it was actually Sweedish House Mafia it would be a totally different situation though. I saw Angello last time he played Voodoo and it was mediocre (to me). I only really seem to get into turntablists or live band EDM though.

Not 40 (see previous post about H2O lawsuits) but appreciate the input. I'm scared Ozzy is going to sound like shiz.
I saw Ozzy at Voodoo 2010 and he sounded fine. That was before the Sabbath reunion too.
Ozzy's been recording new music, reconnected with old bandmates, one of which will be at this show, he's in good health right now, preparing for his last world tour w/ Sabbath next year, plus he has two lead guitar studs raging out? This is going to be ridiculous. Especially with Jane's Addiction opening.
To be honest, that day of the fest looks like a 2009 or earlier Voodoo Saturday before they fell off with the booking for rocknrollers.
Would love to have Perry Farrel come out for Faeries Wear Boots or NIB or something.

Right on. I'm not a giant fan of Johnny Rotten/Lydon, but I've never seen P.I.L. It's probably worth checking out for the disaster potential. I plan to stand way back out of vomit/spit/urine range for sure, and though he's asking people to dress up and mock Donald Trump to the extreme, no way. But I hope others do. I'm thinking about going as Baking Soda, I got Baking Soda which certainly aligns me with the cheesedick continuum, but hey, I'll live - and maybe more than 3 people all weekend will get it.?????
FWIW, Metric (who looks like they might actually be something) and Ruby are Friday.
Steve Angello, P.I.L., Peaches and Nina Las Vegas (?) are Saturday
Don't see anything new for Sunday unless The Ludlow Theives are new. I might have missed them prior.
But you knew they were going to add some mid/upper-mid level talent as they have done in the past. They must have had to wait for P.I.L. to announce the tour? Surprised they didn't send out an email on this though. I'm still expecting a mid/upper-mid level rapper to be added, but that's just speculation based off the current lineup.

Nina Las Vegas isn't an addition, she was on the original announcement, same with Ludlow Thieves.

Point made. Can't wait. I was underwhelmed by the whole lineup at first but it's starting to grow on me. As far as I'm concerned (and I know Esteban agrees), festival season begins and ends in NOLA. The thought of Voodoo and it getting closer is definitely starting to rustle some jimmies.
I didn't see Metric in 2010. The Voodoo schedule/program they handed out that year when we got there on Friday had them plastered all over it espousing how I need to keep up with the 'latest festival fashions' and all that kinda bullshit. That was the first time I'd encountered that Coachella scenester douche vibe anywhere and I didn't care for it so I avoided Metric.

It def ends in NOLA but I gotta say it most def starts at Suwannee. Wanee>Jazzfest is always a great run.
I realize I'm pretty much in the minority here. But one thing about the addition of Angello is did they really fn need to bring another house DJ to Voodoo? There might be 5 electronica sets I see all weekend at this point.

I'm actually happy. Duke Dumont seemed like the likely act to conflict with Ozzy, but now it seems likely that Angello will close the Le Plur stage against Ozzy. A win for me.

Nope. More trap and moombhaton would have been nice.

I would have taken some more cheesedick house though too so you can double lol now
But they already have Alesso, Duke, Dan Dyer, Deadmau5, etc, and 3 of them will be closing a night. Still absolutely confused on how Sunday evening goes beyond Deadmau5. Maybe no conflict? Maybe Brosafari? Chance into Deadmau5? Zac Brown Band into Deadmau5?
Flanders,
Glad that add works out for you. 90% sure it will be Jane's Addiction into Ozzy. Im not missing that show. I haven't seen Jane's Addiction since January 1989. Haha Damn. That doesn't seem like 26 years ago though. Slim to no chance I will be around in another 25 if they did a super old guys on pacemakers tour.
Edit to say that the email came out late this afternoon, and they referenced June's Rolling Stone magazine giving them props for keeping with the tradition of eclectic lineups. That was the spirit of their announcement as none of the 5 adds is remotely similar to any of the others. I listened to a couple of Ruby Amanfu songs today. I don't know anything beyond that except it appears she is a great singer and neither of the songs were pop which was nice.

Junkie never questions a fix but on the note for the Sunday schedule: who knows really but either way it's going to be some odd stage transitions but after slayer>outkast, I don't think I'd be surprised by any combo.
its gonna be ZBB into deadmau5. which might mean chance is on Plur, i dont think voodoo would put him in the 5/5:30 slot just to have him on the mainstage

Are you sure or are you guessing that's what they're going to do? It seems like the likely candidates for Main Stage on Sunday would be Deadmau5 (because we already know he is closing it), Zac Brown Band, Chance the Rapper, Slightly Stoopid, Third Eye Blind and/or The Cult. But Third Eye Blind, The Cult or Slightly Stoopid could be on either the Carnival or the other side stage just as easily (as should be Dumpstaphunk and Fishbone).
It's probable that they don't run anything on the main stage until later in the afternoon that day. So you could conceivably have something like Chance > ZBB > Deadmau5 or Slightly Stoopid > ZBB > Deadmau5. I think putting Chance anywhere else but Le Plur will underestimate his draw among the teens and 20's people, because Chance is pretty popular with those generations. So they could conflict Deadmau5 with either Eric Prydz or Bro Safari, or it could be Chance. I'd see any of the 3 over Deadmau5 personally, though I'd probably walk by Deadmau5 on the way out just to see the light show and visuals which are pretty spectacular despite the music being nothing ground-breaking.
NOLA people, is uber actually going to be useful for voodoo or is the mob still kneecapping drivers into uselessness?
It's so new that I'm not sure anyone knows. No doubt there will be the higher rates with everyone in town and everything trying to get back to downtown. There should be bike taxis though. If you have time to kill, you can always go that route - though as Jabco and I have recommended on numerous occasions, bicycling is the way to go if you are either downtown, the French quarter or the Marigny. They just opened up the Lafitte Greenbelt which I rode my bike on this past weekend. It runs from roughly N. Rampart (northern side of the FQ) all the way to N. Alexander near Carrollton - it's all of a 2.2 mile bike ride, and it lets you off about 5 blocks from City Park.

Yea playing the grab a taxi on esplanade game is not fun when it's freezing like it was last year. I'm not in any hurry to go anywhere after the fest except Friday. I'm worried about missing Odesza.

Freezing has to be relative here, I remember up here in Maryland Halloween wasn't cold at all. What is the temp usually like down there for Halloween?
