2 weeks mfs. My schedule keeps updating when I launch the app but I haven't noticed any actual changes to my cubes.
And I don't have a costume yet which sucks. I found some good ones on line but I need hand to mouth access for consumption of mass quantities of alcoholic beverages. I'll have to get on that shit next week.

What are you doing? I went as Charlie Brown "I got a rock" from Its the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown. Like only 3 people got it. I was doing baking soda, but I don't want to draw and paint that, and since the weather could be anything, a box isn't probably the best idea. I might lame out and buy something
My costume is ready also, and my birthday is that Thursday night before Voodoo. We are doing the House of Shock at 7pm if anyone wants to get scary on my big 4-0 with me.

I custom made a costume to be...
I'm just wearing eye black so I don't have to have the mask obstructing my face all day and night, but it looks really good.
Sweet. You won't be hard to find unless there are other Riddlers. Hit me up end of week after next, and I will buy you a drink if any accessible sets cross. I'll post my final middle of the week after next.
Just announced for Republic Voodoo kickoff is Cookie Monsta. I don't know shit about him except be plays dub. And there is a severe lack of dubstep at Voodoo. So I might go.

Was really weird I was actually listening to Cookie Monsta when I read this. I saw him at Moonrise when he played a B2B2B with Doctor P and Funtcase. Dudes show is always one of the loudest and most intense you'll see. I def want to go to that, I'll have to check with the group and see what they want to do. I'll def take you up on the beer haha. Speaking of costumes, what do people usually do the other days of the fest besides Halloween? I think I'm going to wear the costume only on Saturday, I'm not sure I can put together a different costume to have.
Some people dress up every day, but it's obviously a much higher percentage on Halloween. You will see the usual purple skin suits and banana costumes on the other days and some people will dress up. But I never did until last year when Voodoo actually fell on Halloween.
As for the pre-party, I'm definitely seeing Tauk at Howlin Wolf early with Jabco for 12.00, and if any of my kids are hitting Cookie Monsta, I guess I will go to that after since Howlin Wolf is only a block or 2 from the Republic.
I wish I had the stamina to go out after Voodoo, but that has proven to be a challenge for me with Voodoo. Caffeine can only counteract that level of alcohol so much. But I really, really want to go to Break Science live and CoC/Mastadon on Halloween night. If I was on your side of town, I'd get advance tickets to Gravity A at Blue Nile. Frenchmen Street closer to the river from where you guys are staying is the shit on Halloween night.
Where can you run to? What more can you do? No more tomorrow Life is killing you Dreams turn to nightmares Heaven turns to hell Burned out confusion Nothing more to tell, yeah
Everything around you What's it coming to? God knows as your dog knows Bog blast all of you Sabbath Bloody Sabbath Nothing more to do Living just for dying Dying just for you, yeah.

Halloween is first almost all rock/metal day at a festival for me in a while.

I'm still going to be wishing that I was in Tempe, AZ the whole day though.
Yeah, that's going to be money. Halloween at Hulaween will also rule. But with Clutch, Jane's Addiction Ozzy and then I think it might have been you who said Babes in Toyland rocked it at Riot, that's a money ass day too if not Tool/Primus. Adding in Mike Dillons Punk show, Fantastic Negrito some of Jacob Plant and E Collective with a few minutes of PiL and Lettuce makes it a great day for me. The key to how great is what does Ozzy and Friends play. I looked at some sets over the last couple years and it was a lot of hit but still mostly cool shit. If they open up the catalog a bit, and you know Morello and Slash will get some solo time, could be the difference from a cool Ozzy show on Halloween and something to remember. I'm betting on just a cool show, but I want more.
Still working on tickets. In one of those spots where I waited too long and the ebay price went up, but will def go down next week. Don't want to wait too long for a good price and then be stressing over the wristbands getting delayed in the mail.
This is a big one! Kendrick Lamar brings his Kunta's Groove Sessions to the Civic next Wednesday night, backed by The Wesley Theory and with special guest Jay Rock! Artist presale goes down this Thursday and tickets go on sale to the public on Friday at 10am... act fast this one will sell out!
Same here. I've seen Kendrick a couple of times and he was always pretty good and seems like a pretty cool guy. But I'm not going to go either. I just figured I'd throw it up for anyone following the thread that might be coming into town on Wed.

God damnit! Why couldn't this be on THURSDAY? I'm not missing Bob Moses.
I hear you. All the promoters have been late announcing night shows. WCP (Buku guys) had Odesza out early, and that sold out. Voodoo didn't announce Joey Bada$$ until last month. Break Science live was announced like last week, and Kendrick today (being promoted by Bowery).
I went ahead and decided to go as a middle easterner for an element of controversy; costume and accessories/effects have been ordered.
Voodoo sent out an email announcing their last two adds yesterday. They are both DJ's and neither of them meant anything to me, so I had to go look them up. It's Post Malone and Brenmar. Post Malone sings that awful White Iverson song, and Brenmar appears to be sort of an R&B act. Both are getting major stage recognition as Post Malone is getting a main slot on Sunday and Brenmar will be on the EDM stage on Halloween. VIP gets Raj Smoove, DJ Vida, Casa Samba (who also shows up as doing a parade at some point) and Zulu Connection. I only know Raj Smoove, and I don't listen to or see him, so all of that email was pretty useless to me.
Barring any last minute schedule adjustments, drop/adds or whatever, I'm pretty settled on what I plan to do. Whether shit goes off like this or not is uncertain.
Friday: Hank and Cupcakes > Hundred Waters > Wax Motif > The Joy Formidable (possibly some of Salva) > Jauz (til he bores me) > Frank Turner & The Sleeping Souls > Destructo > Joey Bada$$ with Soul Rebels > Yelawolf > Jack U > Florence & The Machine
Saturday: Unicorn Fukr > Mike Dillon's Punk Rock Consortium > Fantastic Negrito > Terrence Blanchard featuring The E Collective > Clutch > Babes in Toyland > Jane's Addiction (few minutes of PiL & Lettuce) > Ozzy & Friends
Sunday: The Ludlow Thieves > Quickie Mart > Here Come the Mummies > Chance the Rapper/Fishbone > Title Fight/Bro Safari > Dumpstaphunk > The Cult > Slightly Stoopid
Sunday is the weakest day for me since I don't like Deadmau5 or Third Eye Blind, Zac Brown Band, Tchami or Eric Prydz. Friday is more hiphop and indie influenced, and then Saturday is the \m/ day.
We saw Hank Hill riding the rail at the Ghost show in NOLA. Dude had the haircut, the obesity, the lack of any sideburns, the glasses, Canadian tuxedo etc. Once I noticed him I couldn't not crack up looking at the stage because he was in my field of vision.
Saturday is gonna be so badass....and then CoC>Mastodon latenight!! YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAA PLAYA!!
Gonna suck not having LOA this year for the main reason of not being able to do carnival rides nonstop all weekend. I did Bumper Cars at least 25 times last year, and Ferris Wheel about 10. So that's like $175 right there, I got my moneys worth definitely, plus A/C deuces of course. VIP main stage was only useful for DFA1979 and Slayer.
